Yeah it was pretty chilly on the bike this mornin' had to dust the frost off first then ride. Gotta get some full fingers now.

Well you could do the PGR and Rolling Thunder as the latter is just an event. An event that many PGR ride it. Unless there is another rolling thunder.

I agree it aint about supporting the g'ment it is about supporting our troops. And as the PGR says doing what's right.

...good evenin' everyone...a lot of new faces since I was last checkin' in...good to see new riders joinin'...
...Was cold here in the western tip of the ol' dominion this mornin', first frost, and temps in the 20's......bike cranked slow, but started, gonna have to get that new battery put in....My ponytail barely froze up this mornin' ridin' in....
...Came in last nite, and run out and cut a load of wood, built the first fire of the season as well, sure felt good this mornin'....
...Have finally gotten all the parts, and hope to get the gas heater installed this weekend..
...s;pposed to warm back up the first of the week, and still wantin' to take a weekend 'leaf lookin' ride...
...Sounds like a lot go down for Daytona...always a blast...

Man it's great to see all this activity on are little thread...

It was beyond a little chilly here this morning. I woke up to 28 degrees. My lady friend choose to spend the night here at my play last night. We were snuggled up in the warm heated water bed together. With only are heads sticking out from under the comforter... She's a good woman, knows how keep the animal inside me in check... I find myself in less trouble when she's around!

Well Doc has anyone check with the powers to be to see if Literotica may already offer a lapel pin and/or tee shirts? I think you will find that you may not be able to attract that many riders to come to a central point in the country to warrant a run of that many pins specifically aimed at the biker crowd... Were a pin designed with a general theme can be more marketable. I am sure Literotica would look for a small percentage of the profit and it would be a excellent source of advertisement.

Actually there is a organization called Rolling Thunder and it is nation wide. Yes they do a Washington D.C. run. They are similar to the PGR in many aspects. I have a riding buddy that looked into them and he was telling me that they require a great deal of your personal time as a member. That he couldn't commit that much of his time. But I think I would like to talk to them in person. I am also interested in the PGR. I haven't researched them yet. Having been a soldier I seem to see a great deal of hardship with the soldiers currently serving. With a volunteer Army it seem it's the same 250,000 soldier cycling in and out of Iraq. This is creating a big stain both family wise and financially. More has to be done for todays soldiers as well.

It's a little to cold for my sweet butt to be out on my bike today Snake. Sorry buddy I'm just not that hard core as you. Good luck with the gas heater. Can't let grand daughter get cold.

Shagly don't get me wrong absolutely nothing wrong with a older British bike. There is kinda soft spot in my heart for both the Triumph and the BSA. I would proceed with caution in purchasing either. Check parts availability before buying. I recently ran into two olé triumph's this summer both Bonneville's. Both were completely restored and beautiful. Remember you will be required to get a motorcycle license to ride it legally... Blueboy can tell ya more about the new versions of British bikes.

Ender we have a lot of leafs on the ground right now. It can get really slippery in the rain and hitting wet leafs.

Well I am of to see what trouble I can find. Catcha ya ll later.

Near NYC motorcycles are targets on the road So I gave up riding them for a while.

Check out the PGR it takes only whatever time you can put into it. Unlike some Vets M.C.s out there. There is also something for everyone there. If you want to do the burials you can, there is help on the homefront, and there are things for the vets. They even have a scholarship fund for kids of fallen heroes. You aint gotta buy anything. They do ask on some missions, as they call them, that you have a 3' x 5' mounted flag and that is all I have ever been asked for.

I am also a Legion Rider. Although I do not have a post as of yet. I am a member of the only Rider only post in Texas, however. They are talking about helping me start a rider only post here. I am just not sure if I have the time for that big of an undertaking. But for now I wear my ALR Texas colors on my vest. A bit more time committment with ALR but still nothing like the vets motorcycle clubs.

GREAT riding day here ladies and gents. Did not really realize how great it was until I got out. Went to Wendy's cause I was cravin some chili then next thing I knew I wound up in Mannasas at the HD dealer there. 2nd time to get the new Hog up over 55mph. This time was smooth highway though and it was awesome. I hate the interstate here. Way too rough.

Shagly you sound like me. I have had my M.C. for 28 years now. Almost 10 of which I did not have my bike.

I do agree the motorcycles are open targets and not just in NYC. DC area as well. People think oh well it is only a motorcycle I can pull out in front of it or change lanes in front of it. Luckily only happened once today but normally it happens 4 to 5 times a day. Good thing I don't drive with my head up my ass. Today was a close call. I blue the horn and litterally slapped the side of the SUV as she changed lanes right in front of me. No blinker, no warning, no nothing. Has happened to me before there so I was to the right hand side of the lane prepared. However, was already starting to move from a dead stand still. Slammed the brake and honked, hard to believe but thought maybe she could not here the pipes rapping, from the Harley. Then to beat it all she still kept coming. So I kept going at a coast in neutral with my hand and foot on the brakes until I could actually reach out and slapped the quarterpanel of her Suburban Ussault Vehicle and that got her freaking attention. She did not stop though. Kept on so I let her. Should have unsapped my chain on my wallet instead of slapping the vehicle. LOL

Then watched as she was less than a foot from the vehicle in front of her as we proceeded down the road at 35 mph. If I was the van in front of her I would have slammed my brakes and got ready. Needless to say though when I saw that I was back far enough to stop just in case he did. Then of course where did she turn off but in a housing subdevelopment. Soccer mom running late.......

Hey Shagly, I saw your entry where you were riding young. In CA in the 60's you could get your learner's permit at 14 and a half with a cycle endorsement if you took the written test and I rode Italian and Jap bikes for years, rode a few of my friends BSA's and Triumphs and even a few rats. Next year I'll be celebrating my 40th year of my MC endorsement on my license, and all its worth is 5 percent off my insurance and lifetme of good memories and friends. It's always been worth it to me anyhow. Just felt like airing.

It's a bright sunny day here in the small New England town of Woodbury, CT. I a brisk 34 degrees which is a little nipply in my book... The weather guessers are say that we are supposed to go up temperature wise this week. It's to early in the fall season for this extreme cold.

Well Dinny as far as the PGR is concerned we both have to thank Doc for that one... Having been a vet myself it is the very least I can do for the soldiers of today. I personally believe they are getting a raw deal but that's another story. Promise not to take the soap box out...

Doc I want to thank you bro for the direction. I haven't really been on the forums yet. I will try and get there this evening.

Well shagly I have two helmet. I recently picked up a shorty helmet at Doc's motorcycle store (which is online by the way " http://shopdocsmc.com/contactus.htm " ) with a American flag graphic design to it. The other one is a hondaline full helmet that I purchased way back in 1982. It was originally designated a Gold Wing helmet with the word Honda along the side. I seems ironic that I would buy a Gold Wing so many years later. Possible fate I guess... I need to take a ride soon with my lady friend and pick up a helmet for her. Don't want her brains scrambled when were out together. Then I want to look into a intercom system so she can talk dirty to me while were riding along...

The best part of riding a motorcycle is they are cheap on gasoline compared to a car or truck and they can go into tight places.

That's right, Shag...besides that I discovered everybody in high school drove a car...if you rode a bike you were a trouble maker...regardless of whether it was the truth or not. I always liked the way people pass judgement on one another by some preconception. Ride safe...BTW, I've got three helmets, a state troop style I wear most of the time cause it's light...it a Raider, got it at JC Whitney for $40, I've got a 3/4 Bell which I picked up for about $60 in Breckenridge Colorado on a run, and I have a Shoei I bought when I bought my current bike...$400 and it uncomfortable as hell...heavy on the neck and tight around the ears, but its a full face with my earphones and mic installed.
Most of the time I just wear a VN vet ball cap or I've also got a West Coast Choppers ballcap I wear, too. Over 15 MPH they offer roughly the same protection as the Shoei.

Wooo hoo them Giants scared me there. So did my other team the Seahawks. They each pulled out some squeakers.

Just doing my part for the PGR. I am not able to go on a lot of missions but I have recruited about 10 peeps. If you get on the forums be sure and find me and holler!!!

It was another chilly day here in Connecticut. The wind came back up again this afternoon. Maybe it's just a matter of not being used to this weather but that dam wind blew right threw ya. I went for a short ride today. Learning to ride all over again I didn't like that wind. Plus I need to pick up a pair of gloves. Couldn't feel my hands there after a short trip. Need coffee to get feeling in them to ride back home.

Well my boy Eli has always had a flare for pulling things out of his ass. Did not see that game as it was only Philly on one channel and the Redskins on the other. Really all of my teams pulled it out. Seattle, The Giants, and having lived in Mississippi for a number of years I am tickled Nahhhlins is having a good year. Of course Deuce being there kinda makes me lean toward them. Another Ole Miss standout while I was there.

Arkansas, Wherabouts? Just moved this way from NE Arkansas. I dunno there ricket I said that once upon a time but it is sure beautiful here!!!
