1. John Coltrane's solo in this makes me hot. Tenor sax solos, in general, get to me. They seem so random and so rhythmic at the same time. Like sex, planned and spontaneous at the same time. Jazz sounds like sex to me. Well, a lot of it does.

2. The way eagleyez looks at me and the way he kisses and um other things he does that I won't go into here.

3. Men playing music, especially men playing bass. The way their hands look when they do it. Do you notice a pattern here? Have I mentioned that eagleyez is a bass player? And a jazz musician?

4. Al Pacino in Serpico. Maybe in Frankie and Johnny, too. He's my only long-term famous-person crush. His eyes.

5. Being read to. I like that. Lots.

We went to a concert Sunday .. three young women on bassoon oboe and clarinet ... some Mozart. Hadyn Beethoven Handel and Stauss then into Gershwin and ending up with some Scott Joplin it was pretty good

I hate being read to they go too slow I speed read then go back to the good bits
I have a friend who speed reads, really. She can go through a Colleen McCullough novel in an afternoon. I figure that rate must steal a bit of the leisure pursuit out of the pastime.

I have lain in bed an read a book in a night if I was really into it. When I went to see Ron in hospital and he was talking to someone else I picked up a geographical magazine and read it through from cover to cover and still added comments in the conversation now and again. I like to read when I am eating I can read and watch TV at the sane time but not carry on a conversation as well ! Ron says you can't be watching that you are reading but I can tell him all the plot of the TV prog so far lol

My daughter often reads books in one sitting.. from Harry Potter to Sense and Sensibility.

I'm not like that. I read rather slowly. She mocks me. I have one book I was reading for about a year. By then, I have to start over because I've forgotten too much about the beginning. LOL

I've got more than one book on the go lol all depends what I fancy reading at the time

I haven't read any fiction in wayyyy too long. It's all non-fiction, studying, and so that's a slow process cause I'm highlighting and writing notes and scribbling in margins and stuff. Different entirely.

When I read fiction, I read pretty quickly. I get all excited about the story and I can't wait to see what happens.

I've always liked authors like Mervyn Peake and Nabokov and Austen because their sentence structure is juicy enough to make me slow down.

I think being read to--or reading to someone--is one of the great pleasures in life. I love to read to myself, too, obviously, but books or poems that I really enjoy, I read over and over anyway. So having someone read to me, hearing the way they interpret the words, is something I really like.

New mad fantasy: getting Tom Waits to read aloud to me from Leonard Cohen's Beautiful Losers.

Things that make me hot?

1. Music is my general weakness. While I have an entire soundtrack of songs that leave me hot and bothered at best, these three songs hold an unwavering position in my top 5:
  • Duke Ellington w/ John Coltrane on In A Sentimental Mood.....because fingers that can do that to instruments are just plain gifted (and saxophones just do something to me, especially Coltrane)
  • Marvin Gaye's Distant Lover. It has to be this live version specifically. The energy between him and the audience makes his performance even more sexually charged. If you listen closely, you can hear this one woman in the audience, apart from everyone else, screaming like a banshee. I just know she had an orgasm right there in her seat.
  • Quincy Jones' Secret Garden. A very steamy collaboration between some very erotic male vocalists, Barry White leading the pack...'nuff said.

2. A man that is intelligent, but doesn't feel the need to call attention to that fact.
(cool enough to understand that his presence speaks for itself)

3. Creativity........... ;) (fill in any and all blanks)

*helping myself to a mug of chai*

Well, my story with a sex scene starring two aliens has posted. It's chapter 4 in a series. We'll see how that goes over. So far, so good. A few people asked me recently for the next chapter. That should satisfy them for awhile.

I finally found an editor for my lesbian piece. That's cool.

Now, I have finish a paper for school. So, don't mind me. I hope the clicking of my nails on the keyboard isn't too distracting.

Things that make me hot?

  1. Watching her/them surrender
  2. Seeing her/them helpless before me
  3. Hearing her/them beg for more
  4. Knowing she/they want(s) me enough to do anything I wish
  5. Making out (while naked, if feasible)
  6. Flirting, having her/them flirt back
  7. Holding her/their waist(s), or having her/them hold my hand(s), as we walk together
  8. Going places, doing things, making plans together

The heat is in the relationship(s).

eta: isolated bistro blurt:

damn. damn damn damn that's good. lie to me, please...

I'm not lyin! I can get more into the Waits part than the Cohen part. It is better if Waits is the one reading. LC is brilliantly poetic but I cannot listen to him. He sounds way too whiny to me, whiny and deeply depressed. TW otoh, uh-huh I like him. He's my kind of crazy.
