Black Hawk's Treasure

Thomas let him walk into the luxurious quarters first, and then stepped in behind them. Most of the crew of the Mystique were here now. Some tied up, others just sitting and waiting.
The look they had on their faces told him more than any bout of questioning could ever do.
"I want two things straight right now," Thomas said, as he addressed everyone, and the state they were all in. None seemed too worse for the wear, except maybe Ashley herself. Perhaps this would get her to calm down a little bit though.
No, it wouldn't...
"One, this is my ship, and I am the captain. If anyone has a problem with this, you can say so now. I'll sacrifice a longboat, and you can ride off to where you want to go. Ok?"
He didn't wait for an answer. This wasn't really question and answer time. This was more like trying to get them to understand before they did anything stupid.
Before anyone did anything else stupid.
"Two, none of you are prisoners, as of yet. You are being held, and for good reason, because my crew is mad as hell, as well as I am. I loved my ship, and I love my crew, but something is just not right about all of this. I want to know more, but a lot of my crew doesn't. They'd rather just see you drown then listen to any pleas you have."
A man came in, saluting, and then iunformed Thomas of the ship. She was out and about. The tide would be with them, and they could sail on out of here.
"Get the oars ready. I want to leave now. If anyone isn't on the ship, signal for them to get on, but I'm leaving. The Mystique might just come back..."
He shuttled off, and after a moment, the ship lurched to one side. Huge shouts outside pulled off something which just a few hours ago, Thomas thought would be impossible. The Warhammer sailed.
Slow and steady. They were moving out of the cove, into the coral patch, and in less than an hour, be off to open sea.

Krysta ~

Had to keep busy, if there was a moments rest I would break down again and no way wanted that happening again. Stronger than that, didn't even think about it when Thomas's voices was no longer around. Either up in the crow's nest fixing what I could reach or at least climb to. Or was down below patching up what could be patched.

Didn't notice that none of the Ash's crew were no where to be found, only knew what needed to be done, who needed help and who was helping me, no further thoughts came. When the Warhammer started to move her aching movements, ran to the nose of the ship to see if there would be an easy path through the coral. It's going to be close, but it would make it with no further damage.

Leia

Leia allowed herself to be carried below deck. Indeed she had wasn't even fully aware of whose arms wrapped around her and eased her body gently against theirs to cushion her from the movement of being transported to an uncomfortable, but welcome bunk.

She lay back gratefully and gave a long sigh no longer even aware of her own shivers, they had become so commonplace now.
Her body was cold, her hair hung wetly still, but of primary concern was the shoulder then perhaps the gash on her head.

She heard voices around her ... doctor ... hurt like hell ... need to warm her up ...

She opened her eyes and looked into a familiar pair of eyes.

"Just sort me out will ya ... I'm no fucking use like this ... need to get on deck ... help .... "

Her angry statement faded as her voice broke.
Leia hated feeling useless ... feeling a burden ...

She turned, she tried to get up.
She swore strongly and fell back again.

Mia

I listened to their captain and said nothing, for now I had other concerns to worry about. For instance the wounded gunner I had dragged here to this trap.

The captain said nothing, merely remained where she was breathing slowly in and out. Ash's eyes were even closed, but the grimace of pain alerted me she wasn't asleep.

As soon as Thomas left I moved to the fire pit and hunted through my pockets. Finding a flint, I now had half of what I needed. "I need that chair.." I eyed the guard sitting on the old rickety thing, "Please?" I asked quietly and he did give it over to me. Amazed but thankful, I broke it up and started a fire in the fire place.

I would have to make due with what I had, which was next to nothing. This wasn't going to work too well either. I put my dagger into the small flames and moved back to the guard.

"Can you see if there is any medical supplies on this ship? At least a few things might help? cauterizing the wounds will help but not everyone."

"My orders were to stay here..." He obviously wasn't too cooperative.

"Look, your captain said we weren't captives, merely here for our own safety. I just need something to sew with and some bandages.. Old shirts, something.. And some water and a pot. Can't you try to find someone to locate these things??" I didn't attempt to use my charms, I knew none of us were in a flirty mood nor feeling nice right now.

"I'll see what I can do.." He knew the wounded needed to be seen to, not ignored. Many were injured on both sides. He went to the door and outside for a moment, locating someone else of their crew and asked the man to see the captain about what was needed." He felt he did enough for the moment and went back inside the captain's quarters.

I said nothing more, just watched my dagger in the flames and eyed Daniel. The bullet would need to be removed from his shoulder, the slug didn't seem to go through. I needed to look further and remove his shirt. I was doing things in reverse I was so worn out and mentally I still wanted to hurt someone for all this misery.

Ashley

She did her best to ignore the jackass, her temper sparking hotly. He was so lucky she could not get up just yet, or he'd be pryin' his manly parts out of his throat!

If he hadn't stopped her... Her ship may not have left this cove..

"Bumbling ape!" She cursed under her breath after he left the cabin. She listened to Mia's pleas for help and felt disgust. These sea slugs should be helping the doctor! Not hindering..

She sat up and caught eyes on her. Johnathan was staring but trying to appear he wasn't. Mia hadn't noticed her movement and her First Mate was also inside, but apparently unharmed. That was a blessing, however small.

Groaning, her arm cradled her side as she sat up and against the wall. Thomas may seek revenge, misplaced, but still seek it. If that were true, she'd be his target.. She needed to secure her crew, assure them and make them know not to interfere. Survival was important right now, and reaching the Island. Once there, then things could change, they could hunt the Mystique and Vallen then.. If she didn't make it with them, Preach would do it for her.. She knew he would.

"Gunner! How bad are ya hit?" She spoke up with a little firmer voice. "Sally, you?" She eyed her cook noting the fire in all their eyes, and hopelesness as well. It dawned on her more and more that several things went wrong from day one home. Death, lost her crew, lost those few who were loyal when that eel mutinied on her ship.. Now all that remained was a small handful and very little else.

She also noted the guard in the room, she couldn't say anything about the map but she could find out what the hell happened on her ship!

"I need.. No, I want a report." She said through clenched teeth. She wouldn't take her temper out on her own crew, but the wound was still fresh and festering quickly. Bastards would pay for this.. with blood! "I want to know how the hell my ship was taken by that worthless piece of ......" She sighed, her eyes closing as she rested her pounding head against the wall.

Mia piped up, just as irritated, "Vallen had the crew in his pocket Cap'n. They released him, killed our gunners and fired upon the Bilge. Chaos broke out on deck after the first rounds went off and truth is.. we were out numbered. Vallen and his men killed all who tried to stand and fight.. Only thing I remember hearing was Vallen cursing out for the early shots.. He wanted you back on ship first Cap'n..?"

"He probably wanted revenge for his whipping Mia. He'll get his chance, if I live through this.." Or maybe he wanted a bargaining tool with someone else? But who? If he wanted her ship, why did it matter if she was there or not? "The map.. He wanted the map is why he wanted me.." She laughed without humor and hunched down a little more. She was too fuckin' tired to care and too pissed off at Thomas for attacking her and blowing her chances to gaining her ship back.. Truth be told, too tired was winning over outrage.

Melvin Morecock

"Easy, lass, easy," Melvin smiled as Leia struggled to rise from the bunk he had placed her in. The crew quarters were musty from disuse but at least she was out of the elements. Leia struggled in her delerium, pausing only once as she appeared to recognize Melvin, finally falling back as the pain overcame her.

"She's a feisty lass, mates," Melvin said, "but she'll be back on deck sooner than any of you would be. Now get up on deck and get this shipwreck asail. We got sweet revenge to taste.....and get the doctor down here as soon as you can. She's digging a bullet out of some fool not as important as our matey here."

Driving the men topside with his words, Melvin turned back to Leia. "Gotta get you out of these wet clothes," he whispered, but Lea only moaned softly. Unable to undo the wet knots of her bodice, Melvin pulled out his knife and cut through the leather cords that held her dress together, smiling softly as her full breasts fell out of their containment, then made the same short work of her skirts. Taking her shoes off, and flipping them to the floor, Melvin turned to the wounded girl. "This is much more fun when you're awake, lass," he said as he pulled her underthings over her hips and down her legs, "But I can't have ye dying of the pneumonie." He dried her body with an old blanket, rubbing her legs and her good arm to increase her body heat before starting to wrap her in another blanket. He paused for a moment, bent his head and kissed the patch of red curly hair between her legs. "For luck, darlin," he said before wrapping the blanket around her. Leia had stopped fighting and seemed to surrender to sleep. "Rest, girl " he said, kissing her forehead and turning to the ladder leading topside. "I'll send the doctor as soon as I'm able."

Captain Ash

"No, He wanted the map I have Preach.. The other map he mentioned, well it hasn't been found on board.. not yet. I doubt it's here." She shifted against the wall and her eyes held Preach's for the longest time. "I am sure Vallen planned this from the beginning.. His mistake of getting on my ship, instead of Thomas's was a streak of bad luck for us." Her eyes scanned the few in the room and felt her anger return. They all needed to be checked and warmed up, not left sitting in a run down room!

"Its down to survival Charles. And Thomas would love nothing more than for the few remaining members of my crew to be under his command, not mine." She whispered herself, not wishing to upset anyone further.

"Untie me please, I need to move my arms around.." And she needed to get to the map and turn it over to Preach for safe keeping, just incase Thomas had other plans for her.

"You do what you must to survive and make it home. Once we get home, we'll go after the Mystique. If I'm not with you Charles, I ask that you take command and get back my ship.. She'll be yours." With her hands untied now, she put her hands in her lap, trying to get some circulation back. Her side still throbbed with pain but it was lessening now, thankfully making it easier to breathe. She knew her first mate would be loyal to her until the end, no matter what oath he gave. If she wasn't around, Charles would make an outstanding Captain.

"Thomas isn't above betrayal, be careful with him." She reached down with one hand inside her breeches and found the pocket. Pulling out the map, she kept it folded but handed it to Preach.
"Take this and guard it well, Charles." She knew the map in her head, it really did not matter to her anymore, but those who survived were promised this gold and that map was one key to the prize.

She said no more about it, she knew if she was killed they'd be alright. She prayed anyway. Thomas would never be trusted, not after he ran off with that woman. Her crew wasn't harmed, but that didn't mean she was safe. She knew the look in his eyes, he wanted revenge and she'd be his target. She wanted to cut his manhood off and watch him bleed! He had some nerve being angry with her, she isn't the one who ran off to marry someone else! "I need to stand.." Someone lent her a hand and helped her to her feet, she needed to walk off some energy and anger. Maybe she could occupy her mind with plotting the many ways to hurt Vallen but not kill him?

'Salty Dan' Moore

Pain. It flared through his in a sudden burst, bringing him lurching upright with a cry. He'd been slipping in and out of consciousness for a while now. He felt a little dizzy, and cold, but he wasn't too worried about it.

He glance around, reaching up to hold the room still and hissing at the pain from his shoulder instead. "Where tha fuck are we?"

Captain James Moore

"Bring this ship around, men! I want to know where that cannonfire's coming from! Likely those pirates we've been trying to follow."

He moved ahead as the men worked at the lines, his newly appointed first mate barking out orders as the ship startied turning, heading back towards the island they'd just past.

He smiled to himself. Cannonfire meant a sea battle, which usually meant pirates. A round of hangings would help boost morale, and show that the ship could still do it's duties, even with a new captain at the helm.

"Ready the cannons! I want to be ready when we come across that scum of the sea!"

He turned at the yelling as the man in the crow's nest yelled down to him. "I've got a ship, sailing away from the island, captain! A lot of smoke, looks like they were firing at something!"

He frowned, and gave orders. The ship was probably pirates, but their first duty was to help the people. Although he'd love to have a few bodies hanging from the yardarm, if they'd attacked someone it was their duty to help the victims first.

"Let's see if we can't find what they were up to, what?"

Mia

Turning, I caught Danny by his good arm and held him back.

"Easy now Danny.. We're on board the War Hammer..Not sure if we're captive or .... Hold still, you've been shot and ya got the ball still in your shoulder.." I had a hell of a time holding him back with one hand, giving up I let go.

"I got to dig it out.." I searched his face, knowing this was going to hurt and we had no rum to ease the pain.

"Sally, I need your knife.." I held out my hand to her, hoping she would give it up for a moment. Mine was heating in the fire, which meant I needed one to dig it out. Can't cauterize it open like that, had to be shut.

"Where is that man with the supplies?!" I barked out at the guard. I needed these things, now! The door burst open and in came two guys hauling a barrel of water. "No pans 'round.." They grunted as they set it in the center of the room. "We got wounded that need see'in to right now.." They glared hard at me, like their wounded was more important than my own crew mates?

"Well they're going to have to wait their turn.. Bleeding men or women, put pressure on the hole to stop the bleedin'.. Burns, we have no ointment, let them air out.. For those cold and injured warm'em up.." I eyed the captain, not sure she wanted me to aid them at all? "That is if I have my captain's permission.." I gave the two stubborn men a hard glance and went back to Daniel's wound.

Probing around in the hole with my fingertip, I could feel the ball with the tip. "It aint too deep.. Let me wash up.." I went to the bucket and washed my hands as best I could. No lye soap, this was going to be dangerous, but less than doin' this with no water..

I took Sally's offered knife and grimaced. "Do we need to hold ya down Gunner?" I asked but got no responce, "Do we need to hold ya down!?" I barked out. Not many men could take pain nor diggin' out balls, hell I couldn't take it without restraint... Could he?

'Salty Dan' Moore

"I've been sho' befo'e, woman. Tain't nothin' I kin't stan'. Jus' gi'e me a momen'." He looked at the wound, and gritted his teeth. He undid his belt, pulling it loose. He bent it over a few time, and paced the leather, tasting of the sea, in between his teeth.

He prefered being good and drunk when this happened, as that dulled the pain along with his senses. He steeled himself for what he knew was coming, and gripped his arm, just above the elbow, to hold it still. He nodded to her, and closed his eyes, biting down on his belt.

After all, wouldn't do to bite his tongue out.

Mia

I inhaled deeply and let it out slowly, relaxing myself as best I could. I knew it was going to hurt him, that couldn't be avoided, I just wanted to do it quick as possible and as easy as possible.

Placing the tip into the opening, I felt him jerk under my hands but his arm stayed still. The knife scraped across the ball with an audible sound. It wasn't in too deep, the bone stopped it. That good or bad, I wasn't sure? Fresh blood poured from the wound, down his arm and my hands, still I moved it along.

Within ten minutes I had the ball out and sighed in relief.

"Wet rag.." I asked and had it in my hand, not sure who did it but I was thankful this went smoothly. I cleaned the wound, trying not to cause more pain but couldn't stop it once I began to push on it.

More and more blood washed through the hole, cleaning his wound. I got up quickly and retrieved the knife from the fire pit. Holding onto the handle with a ripped piece of clothing, I moved the glowing blade towards Danny.

"Preach, I need you readied to hold him.." I knew that reguardless of his strength, this would hurt beyond just digging. "Sorry Danny, no needle and thread handy.." I felt bad about this, but I had to. Once Preach was close enough to aid if needed, I knelt down, put all my weight against his shoulder to pin him and pressed the blade quickly and hard to the hole.

The skin hissed and burned, sealing the wound. It took all my strength to stay on it and not be shoved away as Daniel was attempting to do.

"Water!" I needed to cool his skin now and move on to the next person.

'Salty Dan' Moore

His fingers dug into his arm, and his teeth dug into the leather of his belt. His flesh burned as she worked on the wound. His eyes were clenched tight, not wanting to show the pain he was going through. He wondered if that was the only one she'd have to do that for, silently hoping it was.

He opened his eyes, looking up at the roof of the cabin, blinking. He forced himself to settle down, letting go of his arm and trying to breathe normally.

Mia

I rinsed off his arm as best I could, careful not to irritate the wound further.

"Keep him warm.. I will see if I can find something to boil water with while seeing to the others.." I brushed the hair off of Danny's forehead, his features tense and glistening with sweat. It took alot out of him to hold that still, I was very proud of him. I'd be blubbering about now.

"I'll return.." I bent forward and kissed Daniel's lips softly before rising. My dagger was cold now, I could use it. I handed Sally hers, "Thank you Sally.."

Escorted outside, the blaring sun caught me off guard and made my eyes hurt and my head. Blocking the sun with my hand I let the brutes push me outside and shut the door.

"Who's first?" I turned around and noticed no wounded were on deck, they had them below.

"Alright, show the way." They had guns trained on me, like I would go anywhere!? Idiots.

I was shown to the first room down the steps. Stepping inside, I recognized Leia instantly.

"What are her injuries?" I asked her crew mates. Surely someone inspected her thuroughly?

It wasn't another hour or so before Thomas could get everything settled out. People came to him with requests, orders, needing guidance, wanting reassurance. He spoke with stout passion and undetermable action as any captain should. As he stood at the bow of the ship, now turned around, and heading out to the open sea once more, something of stubborn pride came to him.
"What a night," he said, relaxing finally, "What a fucking night."
The dawn twilight had finally skimmed the surface. At daybreak, the Warhammer passed through the edges of the cove, and through the last floating pieces of his old ship.
One plank, dirty and waterlogged, drifting from wave to wave had the name proudly burnt into it... "LGEWATER." The Warhammer sliced through the water, and the driftwood disappeared in an icy trail behind them.
"Sir, ship off the far port bow. British flags."
Thomas took out a rusty old telescope. The image was fuzzy, and pieces of sand blocked his view, but he could see the ship, and its flags.
"After all that, we may still be fucked after all," He went to the stern, taking control of the helm and steering them through the coral reef and out into open sea.
"Run or fight. Can we do either?"
"Sir, the sails are worn and tattered. They could barely catch the wind now, much less race anything."
"We have plenty of powder, but no ammunition. If need be, we could start taking pieces of the ship, but..."
"They won't be near as helpful. This is a british ship, after all. Ok, then we have no choice. I don't plan on losing two fights in one day. Pull up the peace flag, if there is one on this ship. We're not a threat to them."
"Sir, one of the other crew aboard is a doctor. She's going around to help the wounded."
Thomas went down to speak with her.
"You are very brave," Thomas said, as he kneeled down nex to both her and Leia, "I heard even after my crew threatened you with death, you still chose to help? You don't seem a threat, what is your story?"
He thought, perhaps, he could get them to turn around. One by one, turn them into a working part of his crew. He needed them all, now more than ever with his own crew partially missing or dead. He just didn't have the numbers to keep this going. Maybe, with her help, as well as the others, he might just pull it off.
"Can I trust you?"

Mia

I checked as best I could on Leia, the once-over wasn't revealing much. So far all I could see was a dislocated shoulder and a nasty bump on her head.

"I need you to hold her on her side.." I asked one of the two men standing there with me. Taking her arm, I moved it around a little to be sure it wasn't broken. Taking her wrist and her upper arm, I straightened her arm and yanked hard. Leia let out a yelp of pain, but I kept tugging until it popped into place.

"Damn!" Stepping back, I could hear Leia moaning and groaning.. She was awake now.

"She needs a cool rag pressed to her head, keep her awake a little while.. If you have anything for the headache, give it to her." I then turned to address their captain, and hoped to god he wasn't as ruthless as rumor had it..

"Why did I help? Because I am a doctor and it is my duty, Captain." I looked over Melvin a moment and then his pissy bird. No worse for the wear, a few scratches. The poor bird was missing a section from it's head, but I couldn't make out that mess.. Besides I wasn't an animal doctor. Pity.. Animals don't bitch!

"You can trust anyone of the crew members, Sir." I kept my tone neutral, not wishing to upset him nor argue. "I am curious why your crew and you would threaten us with death? We are in the same, pardon the pun, boat as you are. We're all shipless now.. But it isn't my place to question a Captain." I stared him right in the eye, letting him look as long as he wanted to do so.

A flashing smile lit across my face as I held out my hand, "Doc or Mia, I answer to both Captain. If you will just show me to the more serious of the wounded, and see if someone can search this ship? I need to boil water and no one has bothered to search through the galley....." I looked around the room, "Where ever that might be.." This ship was definitely different from the Mystique and much much smaller.

The smile faded slightly, forgetting who this was and why we were here. My Captain might not like that he came to me for information, but she never said not to cooperate. She has seemed pretty docile since I got on board? Who could blame her? If I had my ship taken, and in a sense I did, I would be mad enough to set those around me on fire. No, the cap'n was just upset but she'd recover and this would all be straightened out in the end.

A twisting feeling came in my gut as I thought about Vallen. He'd get his, one way or another.

(stupid enter is evil lol submitted it too soon)

Leia

As if from far away, Leia felt someone moving their hands over her body ... moving ... positioning ... pulling ...

She wanted to tell them to leave her alone ... that it hurt ... but the words would not come ...

She felt every touch ... and yet ... she felt powerless to stop the now painful manipulation of her body.

"AAaahhhhhhhh..."

She cried out as a sharp pain coursed through her shoulder, forcing her eyes open.
She blinked and tried to orientate herself.

"FUCKKkkkkk!!"

She swore trying to free her arm from the strong grip, but seemed unable to throw her assailant.

She moaned softly then cried out, a piercing scream as her arm was tugged and finally clicked back in place.
Tears brimmed over.
Someone had mercilessly swung on her arm ... wrenched it ... assaulted ...
She sobbed softly and moaned able finally to ease her arm free and nurse it protectively against her torso.

The pain had been unbelieveable ... and yet now ... her shoulder joint felt strangely ... eased ...
She blinked and looked about in sudden panic.
She could not place the faces that surrounded her.
Had they been taken ... was she being tortured?
Her head spun ... her senses were in tumult ...
She opened her mouth to call for Melvin ... for Thomas ... to call for anyone familiar ... and yet she remained silent.
Instead she groaned and gave a choked sob as she lay helplessly in the bunk.

"It's just the strangest of coincidences," Thomas said, as he helped the doctor out of the bed, and down to the hull, something more accomadating for her.
"My ship went down, my crew was killed, not yours. You say we are on the same boat, and in a way we are, but there's also a way, and quite obviously, I might add, to have this look like the Mystique fired unsuspectingly on the Bilgewater. I am trying to understand where you come from. I don't know if there was a mutiny, or if perhaps you just decided to jump ship, but I do know your ship, and 90 percent of its crew are fine and dandy, and I'm here trying to get a lump of wood held together by cobwebs out and running in the sea."
They came to what looked like a galley. It didn't have much. A few empty barrels, and dust and dirt galore. The other crew, before leaving, had taken nearly everything not tied down.
"Look for whatever you need, I'll have the cook, I believe there was a cook, come down here too. You two can work together. Set up supplies, and whatever you can find. I'll have my men carry down the wounded to you, that way you aren't jumping from person to person."
In the back, one of the unopened shelves, an underadequate bundle of first aid came out. Some salve, rusty tools, and bandages.
"There you are, something to start with." He looked at her as a member of his own crew, someone he might even trust before this was all over.
He didn't have much of a choice.
Did any of them?

Captain James Moore

"Looks like a peace flag, Captain. Of course, I don't like the looks of the ship..."

James looked himself, and almost laughed. The ship looked to be in poor condition, even if it was seaworthy. It wasn't much of a threat. He looked over at the first mate.

"Let's get as close as we can, see what happened here. Keep the cannons ready, though."

The first mate relayed the orders to the men, and he clasped his hands behind his back, watching as they approached the ship. He looked it over.Perhaps they'd manage to get some hangings in after all. He grinned at the thought, and at just how much he enjoyed his job.

Mia

"I understand where you are coming from Captain. But I was on board that ship and in charge until Vallen took over.. All loyal men died who didn't mutiny like cowards..A few alive jumped ship, we were out numbered." I felt the tension inside and out, my teeth grinding before I stopped talking and just stood silent in the galley.

"It does not matter now, what matters is surviving and seeking revenge." I said this more to myself than to this strange man. That man in the crow's nest.. Burk... he was a loyal man and a good man. He had family on the island that now had no husband nor father. Such was life, but damn it! I did not have to like it!

"I do not wish to argue over this. We both have different views on what happened, and one goal in common.. Survival." I moved over to take the bundle and sighed, "This will help, not sure how much.. Sally is the cook.. Make sure to tell her I ask her help with the cap'ns permission of course." I glanced up at him, he knew I did not mean his permission. I was loyal to my captain, and would remain so.. But that did not mean I would not help this man, not when his kindness so far kept us alive.

"We're not loyal for no reason Captain." I said enough, Ashley was captain and could defend herself. I gave no more than I would give for Preach or Daniel. Just loyalty.

"alright, we best shut the hell up and get workin' before someone up there dies.. I've seen enough death today." I went to work hunting for something to clean off the table with.
"I need water, lots of it if it can be aquired and linnens as well. A fire will be needed but I haven't seen much for burning. If you can get these things it would help save some lives.. if it is that serious?" I was expecting the worst not the simple scrapes.. I seen the Bilge explode, there might be seriously wounded somewhere.

Hmmm, Thomas' ears picked up at her last statement. All loyal men who didn't flee like cowards had been killed. He eyed the doctor up and down, wondering if she realized hwo serious the sentence she had just uttered was.
It meant either she was a coward, or she wasn't loyal.
But, Thomas let that go. The poor thing obviously seemed rattled, and maybe just felt like talking to someone else, even him, calmed her nerves somewhat.
"You have a very good reason to follow your captain," He smiled, looking at the wonderful mess she had gotten them all into," She is a strong and brave lady. A little stubborn, but what good captain isn't. Let's just hope at the end of all this, she might have a ship to go back to."
She didn't want to argue, and he understood that. He could cite numerous reasons that this entire thing could be Ashley's fault. Hiring a mutinous crew, letting a criminal like Vallen live, and then coming aboard the Warhammer to try and add to the fire.
Just who had Ashley been aiming at?
At this point, he didn't know. If she had fired, on either one, it would have been pointless and stupid, and cost more lives than we had now...
But, on the one hand, she might have just been trying to help.
For a moment, just a moment he believed that, and then Thomas remembered why she had run off to the Warhammer in the first place.
A stern look shadowed his face.
"I'll leave a cabin boy to your aid. We have no water, and you are in charge of getting whatever else you need, have the boy help you in anyway he can. Understand though, medical is not my top priority. I need this ship afloat so we can sail to an island and get supplies. You are second, all right? I hear there's a leak in the lower hull, you should be able to get water there."
A small red headed little lad popped out of one of the empty barrels, a handfull of old stale crackers in his hand
"Captain, I found food," He climbed out, beaming up at the two of them.
"This is Pip, he's in your hands."
Thomas went back up. The ship had drawn near, and the cannons looked ready and willing to fire.
"We have a story captain?"
Thomas looked at what could be the end of them all.
"Get the preacher out here... and tell that other lady to go downstairs and help the doctor."
"Sir, those mutinous..."
"In an hour we'll all be dead. They are my crew now, part of us. I take full responsibility. Now do as I say."
Thomas saluted the other ship, a half smile slanting his face. Maybe the Preacher had some advice after all.

Krysta ~

No sooner had we passed the coral the battle ship came into view. It had its flags of British nature, barely can see it, but a few cannons were slightly visible as if they were ready to attack. Unfortantly that ship was heading towards us.

Heard one of the crew speak of a peace flag, he hunted one down for me or at least something that would work as one. Shivers ran deeply down my spine as the coldness of the air and wetness of clothes starte to hit me. Course I ignored it, first things first, and it wasn't me right now. It was all about saving what we have, and working with what we don't have.

Climbed up into the crows nest, setting the wannabe peace flag as high as it would go, lowered the other torn up flags some so the peace one would be first thing they saw. Soon they came close enough to see that they were ready to fire if needed, and Thomas was getting ready to greet them. Slid down one of the ropes to go stand by Thomas's side for now. The ships crew had settled down the best they possibly could, the shivering I was going through indicating even I had calmed down from all the emotional mess. Still I ignored it, wanting to be of use when it was needed.
