Black Hawk's Treasure

Ashley

"You intend to get the Mystique back, how? How much damage are you willing to do to her? Can Thomas' gun crew on that wallowing pig barge take out the top of the main mast or the rudder? Dan could no problem, but... And do you know how many crew are aboard? Are they loyal to Sophie and Vallen or will they run? There are what 5 of us, is Thomas aiding? Risks Ash, you are asking us to lay a lot down again. " Preach was demanding all these answers of her, and she could do little to calm him it seemed.

"I will NOT sink my ship!" She growled out offensively, her own temper sparking.
"This is my ship! I am the captain! I will rot in hell before I let that... woman! Take my ship!" She trembled with her anger, dismissing Mia without a single word.

"I Will risk all, including myself to see the ship back where she belongs.. Now either you come with me, or resign as my first mate. But know this.." She stared at his eyes, trying to judge what he was thinking, "Mystique belongs to me and will be so until I die."

Yes she was risking it all, they were at risk as well.. But that was life of a pirate. Risks..

"Thomas is helping yes, and I need you Preach. I need all of my crew to help get her back. This is our livelyhood. Treasure be damned, we need that ship or we lose it all." She sighed heavily, wishing she knew what he wanted to hear. What she could possibly say to make this better?

"If I can just get on board that ship, find information.. possibly hire some help.. Thomas's crew. I don't know just yet but I am going to get her back!" She was dedicated to seeing that done, just how she could get it done was a mystery still to solve. But she was not without hope. She had a solution, she just had to figure it out.

"I'm going to go check on... JESUS CHRIST!" Mia paled and pointed. Turning in the direction, they both uttered "Gun ports!" At the same time.

Mia took off for Daniel as Ash stood staring and thinking. "Fucking hell!" Turning, noticing we're too close to avoid their fire long enough to aim our own guns she grabbed Preach by the lapels and yanked him to her, "Get off!"

Glaring hard at the Mystique, she move to the first cannon she could find and began loading it. "I will fucking sink it before I let that bitch have it! YOU HEAR ME SOPHIE!!?" If she can disable it, she can....Glancing up she caught sight of someone clamouring around on the anchor.

"What the-.. Krysta?!" Her whole world stood still, she could hear the words echoing across the waters to "FIRE!" And knew she couldn't return fire and risk Krysta's life.

"GET OFF!" Dashing towards Preach, She grabbed him and threw him overboard, jumping into the water right behind him as the cannon's fired.

The first shot ripped through the center of the boat, making a perfect circular hole on one side and a gaping hole on the other. Two more came, the mast began to fall with a loud cracking of wood and the distinct sound of rope snapping. Water sprayed up right into her face, a ball barely missing her.

"Swim Charles!" She sank under and fought to surface once more. Four more shots all hit at once and Smuggler's Run exploded around her. Debris rained down on her head and surrounding area. Something struck her head, dizzying her temporarily, halting her mad dash to reach the shore.

Something inside her snapped, pain and misery seemed to be all she felt. The knowledge that she had just lost all of her crew with the explosion of Smuggler.

"Preach!?" She called out, franticly turning this way and that in the water. "MIA!? SAAAAAAAALLY!" She inhailed water and coughed it back up.

Krysta ~

Everythiing was going fine according to Krystas' plan, but suddenly there was shouting all over the ship. Sophies voice being the loudest as normal.

"Damn it Ashely, you couldn't be more obvious could you?"

Cussed at her mentally, just then the anchor was being pulled up. At first I debated if I wanted to go running (rather swim) to Ash as I watched her and her crew get shattered. Or just ride the Anchor up to the window that was above it, second option sounded the best. Well at first it was, I would have been able to sneak around killing people, instead it went crazy. If I started to slaughter people, I would get caught in a heartbeat with all the hustle and bustle.

Let go of the Anchor reluctantly, The ship made it somewhat hard to swim as it got into position on the warhammer. Already felt the sting in my heart, tears swelling my eyes at the thought of losing another ship. One we brought back to life. Instead I managed to swim underwater unseen by anyone, the waves tossed me around when I went up for air and to seen where I was. Though a little ways under it was somewhat calm, least enough to swim.

Finally catching up to Ash on a few close calls, those canons made it even harder to swim, trying to dodge them when ever possible. I didn't say anything to Ash at first, saw how she was already hurting, faught hard to keep my tongue to myself about what just happened. It was sloppy of her.

"So what now... Captain.."

Spoke somewhat sharply, hateing the fact that I was under her command for the moment. But her sloppines made it nearly impossible to avoid.

Rodger Flint

Rodger had done as he was ordered, and he kept his mouth shut. Two things he had learned in his previous occupation in the Royal Navy. When he had met the waif in the hold though, he was dumbstruck. He could not say a word, but he jumped into action as ordered, he went to help the gunner. How the two of them were supposed to man a ship full of cannons was beyond him, but nonethless he was down there.

He was still down there when the shooting started. The first shot blasted through the hull a mere three feet away from him, showering him with shards of wood.

"Bloody hell!" he yelled, turning to the gunner, "We've got to get out of here!"

Before he could go though...he had to make sure that the girl was safe. Rodger felt that in some way, since he'd found her, she was his responsibility. She was with the cook last time he heard from her so he ran there as fast as he could, hoping that the next shot wouldn't find the powder magazine.

The stow away didn't know what was going on, it's like her nightmare started all over again. She was cleaning peacefully for once, staying out of the way as she was told (plus she wanted to). Suddenly she was thrown back by the force of the hit, everything slid with her on the floor to one side of the ships walls.

The table had trapped her between it and the wall, she was to weak to move the table with the force it had against her. Finally the little ship rocked back the other side giving her some advantage as the heavy table started to slide to the other side. Once she got free, she took off to a stumbling walk towards the door only to face the strange man again.

"Whats happening?"
Her words were soft and full of fear as she looked up to him. She could feel the stabbing pain of a bruise hit her side from where the table smashed into, for now, she would ignore that pain.

Rodger Flint

He found the girl in the galley. He came around the corner just in time to see her squirm out from under the table.

"What's happening?"

"We're under attack. C'mon. We've got to get out of here before the ship sinks or blows up."

Takning her hand he raced up toward the deck, hoping to dive into the water from there. As they reached the deck however, the main mast started it's long fall to oblivion, threatening to crush the two of them beneath it.

"DOWN!" Rodger shoved her back through the hatch they'd just exited and then dove after her. The mast hit the deck with a thunder that would make any lumberjack proud.

Taking a moment to catch his breath, Rodger wiped some blood out of his eyes and looked at the girl.

"I'm Rodger."

Sarah ~

She screamed as he shoved her back down, mostly from the sharp pain that laid in her side. Her fear almost becoming angry, not because he had shoved her. She knew he was trying to help her, she appreciated that much.

"Great, I fall a sleep only to wake up with a bunch of strangers and not moments later to die with them.. What a wonderful day this is going to be."

She mumbled out just before he had spoken his name, fine time for introductions, yet. Guess any time is better than none.
Sarah smiled softly towards him, least the best she could, grimmancing from the pain that had become worse.

"You can call me Sarah...... For now, tell me, why are we being attacked? I seriously do not wish to die. It's bad enough i was in the way when my captain went crazy, now i'm being shot at for reasons I do not know?!?"

For a moment there, a split moment, death almost sounded good to her. Although, she would never make it happen before her time, just suddenly realizing how bad the past few weeks were, only to be here at this moment. Least she would die with a very good looking man by her side.

"I am sorry, I don't mean to lash out upon you. Just I'm scared, I don't know you people, and most of all I don't know where you have taken me. I'm just scared..."

She would have balled up right there sitting on the floor to cry. Sadly this was not the time, the ship was falling apart all around them.

"Its going to be hard for me swim, I can do it, just going to be hard. That table hit my side pretty bad.... But we do need to get off of this ship."

Each time she spoke her words were always soft, she knew this wasn't his fault. Unable to bite his head off for no reason. Closed her eyes a moment, taking in deep breaths to ease some of the pain.

Sophie

"Halt the firing!" She stood looking at the flounder sloop and grinned. "nice work boys!" Cheers went up but only a few. Men gathered around Sophie and awaited their next order of business.

"Send four men to get them. I want her alive and on this ship."

"Captain!" A man from the crows nest yelled out and pointed. Looking out over the water she noticed Ash was swimming this way.

"Ah, the little hellcat wishes to fight. Let her on board unharmed... Got that? I wish to speak with her before we hang her." Sophie leaned against the railing and watched as Ashley floundered a little in the water and began to swim towards her own death sentence.

She caught sight of the other head near her but paid it no mind, that is until she caught sight of the girls face.

"Krysta!" She hissed out the name with such disgust, several turned to look at what Sophie was scowling about.

"I want her too!" She had an idea what had happened.. That little good for nothing told ashley!

"BRING THEM BOTH TO ME! AND YOU'LL GET A REWARD!" She shouted out loud and clear.

Ashley

Coughing and spitting, she got something nasty out of her mouth just before she swallowed it.

"Krysta.." She panted, swimming towards her sister as best she could. Her shoulder hurt and from the stinging, she guessed she got cut by the splintering wood.

"damn.. How the hell did she..." She sunk under a moment and came back up. Shifting she tried to float in the water and pull off her heavy boots.

"So what now... Captain.." Krysta seemed to be mocking her, but she didn't really care at this point.

"We get back that ship and make that bitch pay for her wrongs to our family.. That's what!" She swam closer and eyed the ship.

"If we dive under when we get closer and swim around the other side, we can climb up and into my quarters.. Or we can get on by the docks.. Either way, be careful, she might try shooting at us once we get nearer.." She eyed Krysta a moment and motioned with her head to move on.

"Let's go.. Hopefully the others will catch up.. And don't tell me.." She panted a moment trying to extend her arm a little more and ease the pain, "That I need to wait.. If you don't want to come Krysta, then don't.. I need help right now, and if you are afraid.. don't come. alright?" She gave Krysta a little look, not one of disappointment or anger but understanding.

Krysta listened her words, still upset by the sloppiness that had happened.

"Told you so..."

She mumbled as Ash started for the ship, Krysta followed behind. Ash went under for a moment, long enough for Krysta to hear Sophies screeching voice, commanding the ships crew to get us both.

"ASH! .. WAIT!"

She yelled and swam faster, her clothes weighed her down but there was nothing she could about that. Catching up to Ash;

"I'm not afraid, I'm only doing this because I know what this ship meant to Brian and Sophie doesn't deserve it in the least."

She hesitated a moment before speaking again.

"Hope you can hold your breath for a little, we need to go deep underwater. It is murky from the cannons. There is a window just above the anchor, that was the only way I saw in.... unless"

Krysta looked past Ash seeing the men scramble to get into little row boats.

"She knows I'm with you, if they catch us, looks like the decks will be the option. She will not harm us........... Yet."

Krysta bowed her head a little, indicating Ash to look behind her, already the men were coming out in their direction.

"As I said, Sophie knows everything...."

"What, are they fucking morons?"
Thomas looked through the spyglass, at both Krysta and Ashley swimming towards the Mystique. Several others had found their ways onto the dock, or were using the last of the Scooner's speed to get them to the Mystique where they could fight. It would be a losing battle though.
Thomas sighed, wondering how one woman could screw up a simple attack so royally. He had watched her abandon her own ship. A captain, abandon her ship? Did she...
A sadness hit his heart, and he couldn't continue that line of thinking. She wasn't thinking straight, and he was probably the reason.
If only he had waited. It would have hurt just as much, but if he had just waited to tell her, maybe she wouldn't be so clouded...
"Forward," He said through gritted teeth, "Get me as close to the Mystique as possible."
"Sir, they'll open fire," a stupid first mate, stating the obvious.
"I know," his words short and curt, knowing that before too long his own ship would probably join the Bilge Water below the waves.
His last run.
"Come on boys, we aren't going to let anyone make Captain Thomas' crew look bad. Straight up, man the sails, and be ready to jump and fight. With any luck, we can pull up alongside her, and jump over."
It would take a lot more than luck.
Already, the simple waves crashing against the Mystique were crimson. Thomas could only imagine his crew adding to the toll.

Rodger Flint

Rodger took her hand and clumsily shook it, unsure of what else to do.

"I'm not sure who's attacking us, I was down on the gun deck when it happened. I think it's the ship were are here to rescue though." He laughed at her puzzled face, "It's a long story, and one I'm not compleltly sure of myself."

Rodger could feel the ship starting to list under him. "Come on, we don't have much time. We'll get some debris for you to float on, that should make the swimming easier."

He took her hand yet again, and as they dashed through the ship he was struck by how attractive she was. He shook his head, wondering if there was something in the water to make Caribbean women so fetching...first Krysta and now Sarah...

They made their way down into the hold, which was rapidly taking on water. Rodger turned to face Sarah, "Wait here..."

He then turned back and made his way down the stairs into the water. Soon he found what he was looking for: an empty barrel. It had held drinking water, but the prievous owner of the ship hadn't had time to fill it again in port. Rodger floated the barrel back to the stairs and then man handled it up them to Sarah.

"I'll take this. You got a chance to look at the ship before you were found, right? There's a hole in the side of the gun deck's hull. That's where we're headed"

Sophie

"Where is Vallen?" She turned glancing around for her pet. He was no where to be seen, of course. "coward.." She was about to go off on a tirade but stopped. She had his map, something she doubt he even noticed yet. She chuckled a little to herself, "Ready the cannons!"

The war hammer was coming closer, into range yet again.. This was perfect!

"Captain?" A filthy man stood beside her, glaring. "We're out of ammunition.."

"What?! WHAT?! How in the hell do you run out of ammunition!?" She snapped at the man.

"Well beggin' your pardon ma'am.. None has been loaded on since we took the ship.. And we fired-"

She cut him off, "Shut up! Get down on the damned dock and see if there is a load out there and take some!"

"Aye captain." He and two others went in search of cannon balls while Sophie felt the deck begin to swallow her up.

"HURRY!" She had to get something to fire at that ship before it and it's crew got too close.

A little panic set in but not too much. She had men surrounding her, plenty of men.. They were armed and ready. THey had the advantage.. Nothing could go wrong.

"Get ashley up here!" She was impatient and worried for the first time since this started. With ash on board, they wouldn't attack.. they'd have to barter with her..

Ashley

She should have been hiding out of sight, she could have waited to come under darkness.. She should have snuck in!

"damn it!" She cursed under her breath watching them run along the dock and to a boat.

She spied Krysta at her side and felt a pange go through her yet again. Thomas...

She shook it off, her head was clearing a little but it sure as hell hurt. She eyed the deck of the Mystique above, crowded with men and a woman she could barely see. Everything was still helter skelter in her mind, spinning and shifting.

Her hand reached up and found the goose egg on the back. Wincing, she left it alone. Preach was swimming towards the Mystique as well, a determined look on his face. Behind her, quite a distance now the sloop was sinking.

Who died? Who still lived? She had their souls on her shoulders now. Stupid.. Stupid and dangerous.

"They aren't taking us.." She whispered to Krysta. "Swim for it, dive and swim for the docks.. They take us, we're dead.." She pushed at Krysta, determination in her eyes to get Krysta to go along with it and move.

She wouldn't let Krysta be taken by that creature, she knew some how Krysta would be the most vulnerable with this Sophie. That wasn't going to happen. Sophie seemed to want her, so let Sophie come and get her!

Breathing in and out, slow and deep, she calmed herself before inhailing a deep breath of air. She sank a distance and began to swim as fast as she could towards the Mystique. She'd go under it, to the dock and pop up underneath and hidden.

Krysta ~

Is Ash trying to protect me? ... Why?

Somthing in the way of how Ash said they were not getting us Not just her but us.... Granted I'm her sister, but after the little thing, she is holding it in pretty well. So far.

Watched how she dove underwater, at first wondering where she would go. But the thought disappeared quickly when the men were getting closer. Taking my own deep breath, swam as far underwater as I could get and still somewhat see where I was going. Took the same route I took to get to Ash from the anchor, once I saw it again. Was heading up the thick chain towards that one window. Held the dagger in mouth as I climbed, the window was a bit further than it looked in the water, still managed to get in with some stretching.

It looked like a safe room for now, maybe like something a first mate would have. Unless all the rooms were this big. It wasn't the captains quarters that was a plus.

"So now what do I do.. to late to go on a killing spree.."

Smirked a little to myself, peeking out the door slowly. There was a single man standing there, in a goofy outfit, someone that could easily avoided. First thought about killing him and taking his clothes, but even I wouldn't wear such a thing. Back in the room looked around for something to wear, Sophie saw me, she knew what I had on, even if she didn't, being soak and wet would for sure give me away.

Finding some mens clothes, and changing into them quickly, thick scarf around my head tucking my hair in it. Least I look like I could be one of her crew member's maybe even pass as one of the guys.. Hopefully...

Dried off all six of her daggers, placing two in her boots, at her hips and back in her bracers. It was never hard to grab them at the time of need. She did although slowly peeked out the door to see about the guy sitting there, he seemed drunk, maybe even......... Yup passed out with his eyes open,

"Typical"

Crept out the door blending in with what crew was left on board, doing meaningless tasks just to get a lay out of this ship and to get a better idea of how things are going to be. Keeping a distance from Sophie, yet at the same time, keeping her in my sight.

Sarah had this confused look cross her face, smirked a little at the hand shake. He was indeed a cute one, to bad she was a mess, torned dress, scarred back. There wouldn't be anything he would see in her, so she thought. Of course tha is also not the number one thing on her mind...

"Aye, I know where that is... You do not know these people well either.. do you?"

In the way he spoke of the things happening, he said also said he wasn't to sure himself. Least in the long run that made her feel some what better.

"Let's get off this heap, not sure who bad or good around here. But since we are here, might as help with what we can."

With that she took off down to the hole he was speaking of, she felt like she could swim, for now good enough to get off this thing. And away from the firing.

"By the way, thank you..."

Just before he could respond, she slipped through the hole into the water.

Rodger Flint

He watched Sarah leap from the hole and carefully rolled the empty barrel up to it. Peering carefully over the edge so as not to accidentally brain her with it, he pushed it out into the water. It landed with a small geyser, but bobbed right back to the top.

Rodger himself lept in after it. After he came up for air and cleared his throat a little he spoke, "No, I'm not one of them. I found myself in the wrong place at the wrong time, and in order to stay alive i had to pretend to be stranded. They picked me up, but I had no money. I took up with the crew to try to get some."

He floated the barrel over to Sarah and helped her get ahold of it, "If we hang onto this and keep low, they might not think anything of us. Kick toward the shore."

Rodger positioned himself so that even if anyone from the Mystique did see someone clinging to the barrel, they would not see the second person. With experienced, diver's legs he began to propell them toward the shore.

Sophie

"Now where did she go?" She glanced over the water looking for her targets, but not finding them in sight? If she hadn't been watching the War Hammer so intently she might have seen.

"Fuckin' hell.. Alright, settle down everyone. Find me those girls. Get this ship stocked and ready to leave port. Watch the War Hammer for any agressive signs. That old bucket is in more danger than I am! Oh and get me something to drink!" she turned back towards the railing and then turned back again, "Water!" Those nit wits would end up bringing her ale or something inappropriate for this job and her.

She sat thinking over all her options, what she could and couldn't do and just how careful she had to be not to get trapped here. She watched the crew's comings and goings, "Get those balls below too sailor!" She glared at nothing for the longest time, every now and then a scarf would come into her periphial vision and out again until that oddity caught her attention.

She studied the lad, his walk, his mannerisms and all those knives. "Who's that?" She motioned towards the lad for her first mate's scrutiny.

"..... One of the lads captain." He too didn't know who it was really, there were alot of men on this ship.

"You there!" She called out waiting. "BOY!?" The lad seemed to pay no attention to her at first and then turned away quickly.

"Go have him fetch me my water and bring it to me.." She dismissed it, but she would not be ignored either. Especially by some wet-behind-the-ear boy.

The first mate walked over to the lad, his big hand coming down on that small and frail looking shoulder. "Captain wants a glass of water, hurry to the galley and fetch it." He gave the boy a little push and stood glaring down over those working on deck.

Three men began a wild search for black powder on the docks. They searched in frantic, knocking over goods, and sending piles of produce down into the pitter of waves below the docks.
One of them reached around a long crate wall which looked to be nothing more than lumber and tools, and he was nearly two dozen men, in either swords or flintlocks, looking back at him.
James caught the boy with the hilt of his sword, sending him to sleep on the baseboards.
"Quick, tie him and gag him," Several moved to do as their captain told.
As the other men wandered over to their spot, and James captured them just as easy.
Others came and went, some taking supplies, others taking off the mounts.
"They're shoving off. Won't be but ten minutes before they're gone."
James leaned against the lumber, unsure just whether to go or not. He could have gone the minute he heard the shots, but thought better of it. Now, his men sat, and waited, beyond the
vision of the Mystique, capturing men who got too close to their position.
All in all, he only had four or so... but they wouldn't fire any more cannons. That's what he wanted, so far. Just level the playing field.
"I sure hope she's ok," He said, looking at all the wood floating in the water underneath them, hoping that Ashley and the rest of the crew had made it safe somewhere.

Ash

She bobbed in the water right next to the Mystique, her every instinct telling her to not climb on board but to go else where. Above her head, she could hear Sophie barking orders, acting the princess, in this case the Queen.

It irritated her but not badly enough to bring death on her head just yet. Hearing the slapping of oars, she turned to look noticing the nose of the small boat coming out. She had to get hidden, if they spotted her..

She inhailed and sank quickly, turning herself and swimming under the Mystique. On the other side was the dock, safety, perhaps she could go for help? All her thoughts were churning over what to do, and she still did not see Preach of any of the crewmen. She knew Preach was alive, but where was he?

Her lungs began to ache, she knew she had to get air and soon. Swimming harder and remaining calm, she popped up a few seconds later on the otherside of the dock. She could hear the men's voices, orders, grumblings.. She was far too close to emerge from the water just yet.

She swam along the dock until her feet hit ground. Careful and ever mindful of those running around, she slowly crept along until she felt the coast was clear. Jumping up onto the dock, she sant there against some wood and wrung out her clothes. Panting, she rested her head back a second trying to clear the throbbing at the base of her skull. She took a damned hard thump there..

And just where the fuck was Krysta!? She had to be hidden on the dock elsewhere, there was no way Krysta would purposely climb on that ship alone.. So first thing she had to do was get armed, get aid and find her wayward sister.

She heard voices not far away and slowly rose to her feet. Peeking out, she glanced down towards the Mystique. Seeing no one she knew looking her way, she crept around a stack of wood, paused in the opening and peeked out again.

Dry clothes would help.. and a damned gun too! grumbling to herself, she ducked back between the cargo's and waited for a passing group of men. They were carring cannon balls, which meant Sophie was out of ammunition for now..

"Ok ash.. now what?" She mumbled to herself, watching the backs of the men making their way up the dock.

Krysta jumped a little at the unwanted touch on her shoulder, she bother looking at the man, ignored when Sophie screeched.

Great, where the hell is the galley in this damn ship....

It was ok though, she had no intentiong on bringing back some water. Running down below decks, making sure that Sophie didn't see her run down, room after room she looked for one that would be most appropriate to hide in for a few moments. Maybe after a few as past, Sophie would forget all about her, and make someone else get the water. Making Krysta somewhat safe.

Sophie

"Where is my water?"She stood on deck, her back resting against the railing, loading her pistol while she waited.

"When will we have those balls I asked for?" She was asking questions of each man who passed, tired of waiting.

"Captain, we lost the two in the water.."

She whirled around on her men and growled out, "Well then I best think you should find them before they cause any more troubles.."

"Where we.."

"I don't care, LOOK!" She waved them off with her hand and turned to Billy. Things weren't going as planned, this was upsetting her. Now she had to worry about where Ashley was sneaking around at..

"She's on this ship, find her.. Search with a few men, bring her to me.. " Her eyes narrowed a little, that scarf...

"Search below deck first."

"Aye captain." Billy moved off to get three men to help him search.

"You, keep searching the water and dock."

"Will hasn't returned with the powder Captain."

"Go find him then.." She waved him off as well. So many things were just going all wrong.

She kept her eye on the War Hammer, watching the old heap lumber into the port further. Gun doors weren't open, probably didn't have guns..

"Put one across her nose, let her know that's quite far enough!" Did they think she'd just let them waltz right in here and sink her ship?

"nose?" Another stopped short to ask why?

"aye, I don't wish to stir more trouble but she aint comin in here neither.."

"Why not sink it captain?"

"Good question mate... but as you notice it's in our path out of here, and this port isn't that deep. Get my meaning?" She walked off then, moving to look over the docks for Miss Ash.

Warhammer's War

Thomas stood at the front of the ship, his sword out, and pointing at their destination. A determined look in his eye, as he prepared for the battle that would come. Many people lost, blood shed, lovers dead and forgotten. A moment of silence before the storm for the ones that would fall today.
"We will be victorious, that I swear," He spoke, to no one, but saying the words aloud made the thoughts real and concrete in this world. It wasn't an idea he was hoping for, it was a solution to this problem.
As a shot came out, Thomas braced for impact. The first of many. He watched as it rose high in the air, stood frozen for a second, blinded by the sun beaming down, and then splashed just beyond the Hammer's bow.
The ship passed through the ripples the cannon ball had cause, moving forward as fast as her ass could move.
"Sir? It was a warning shot."
"I know what it was, keep moving."
"Aye..."
The ship traveled into range, and towards the enemy. A displeased smile hit his face. It was the beginning of the end. He only hoped some miracle could save him.
