Home to my trusty mutt...
The drive back to my home is non-eventful and I managed to get home in one piece.
"I really appreciate this, Bob." I tell him as we reach my front door.
"Think nothing of it, buddy!" Bob says, stopping outside. "Well, I better be getting back. Sandy's waiting for me."
Eh? And when does Bob ever rush home to his wife?
"Sure you don't want to come in for a drink?" I ask suspiciously.
"Yeah! Sure!" Now he is looking nervous and he never refuses a free drink.
"What's up?"
"Why nothing, Tim."
Something's definitely wrong here. Oh no!
"Nothing's happened to Chum has it?" I am starting to fear the worst when I hear that familar barking behind me. Sighing with relief, I turn round and see my faithful dog rushing up to greet me.
"Chum!!!"
Then I freeze.
"Chum!?"
I stare at my dog as he leaps up to greet me. My dog who is wearing a pink fluffy bow around his neck and two more on his ears.
"Erm! Yes, Tim. Sorry about the bows, I didn't have time to take them off. Anyway, about Chum. Erm...It took us all by surprise when you went into hospital and the thing was that Sandy and me have been so busy with work lately, we really didn't have the time to look after him."
I listen to Bob as I kneel down and I start to examine Chum. That's when I notice the smell.
"Bob? My dog is wearing perfume. Why is my dog wearing perfume?"
"Erm! Well, as I was saying. Erm...we were too busy but a friend of ours offered instead. She must have thought he needed a wash. You know what women are like."
"She!!??"
"She just wanted to help out!"
It slowly dawns on me who Bob is talking about.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" I scream and then I start sneezing...
