Is that supposed to be one of those "which picture do you see" things?

Because sometimes I look at it and it's a guy reading a book, and sometimes there's a chick kneeling in front of him with her head in his lap.

I agree. I finally decided I wanted it to be both: he reads a book in silence while she puts her face in his crotch. What a time to be alive!

I've never been much of a fan of poetry; however, I may have to indulge in her book,, "Soft Thorns."

My summer reading pile.

Mmmm, I am completely envious of the Malerman book. It's on my TBR list.

I actually forced myself the other night to organize my bookshelves instead of continuing to place new books haphazardly on the shelves. I am in dire need of sturdier bookshelves as the shelves are bowing in the center a bit.

I haven't got much rhyme or reason for how mine are organised but I tend to know where everything is despite the sheer volume. I have four shelves just for biogs and the top deeper shelves are full of reference or coffee table books. Fiction is willy nilly.

I've noticed a lot of photos on book tumblrs where the spines are arranged by colour. This disturbs me on quite a few levels. It's just wrong wrong wrong.

I don't have OCD. I have CDO. It's like OCD, except the letters are in alphabetical order.

There's something about mismatched books on book shelves that scratches an itch for me, like anti-OCD. It makes me happy.

Me too. And I like them in rows for a bit, then piled one on one. And crammed in all the crevices. All lined up like soldiers is boring. I like a maze of books.

I don’t read much chic lit and I like books with a dark side. Color coding mine by spine would be like which black spine is darker? Poe or King? Have you seen the sadists who are putting books with the spine in? I ever see that in someone’s home and I will have to leave immediately.

Say what you will about Balzac, but he's been dead 170 years and his name still gets a laugh every time.

I have what must be thousands of books in three different homes; an entire section of my brother's garage halfway across the country holds a big stash I haven't retrieved after over a decade.

I think I will finally release him from his brotherly obligation to keep them for me. If they were that important, I'd have retrieved them by now, right?

I am today packing box after box of books in house1, most of which will be given away and/or sold in bulk to a reseller as part of a Lifestyle Agility Mission.

House2, which may or may not be sold, holds the core books, the ones I'd like to keep if I keep more than a handful.

For example, how many cook books does anyone need when they have a smart phone? The Joy of Cooking might be the only one anyone "needs", if any.
