To be fair.
He was reassigned.
Bet you 10 to 1 that he kept the same salary.
But now he really needs 24/7 security of his own.

Greg Bovino Just Accused the White House of Trying to Kill Him

When Greg Bovino sat down with Tucker Carlson this week, he didn't offer a tearful confession or express regret for the lives destroyed under his watch. Instead, he made explicit, direct accusations against the highest levels of the department he spent three decades serving.

To be clear: this is not a story about a man who saw the light. Bovino hasn't repented for the tear-gassing, the militarized raids, or the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti under his command. His break with the administration isn't a moral epiphany. His complaint is that the White House lost its nerve, turned deportation policy into "theater," and threw him to the wolves when the public and legal backlash hit.

According to Bovino, the moment his retirement became official at midnight, his protective detail was abruptly pulled. Border Patrol agents stood on his porch in the dark, caught between duty and command, until Bovino sent them away himself. But the core of Bovino’s appearance was a direct accusation that senior officials intentionally exposed him to physical harm to silence him.

When Carlson asked point-blank if he believed administration officials wanted him dead, Bovino didn't hesitate: "At this point, yes," adding, "I'm in a running battle every time I go out... There's some crazies out there. You bet, do I think they want me killed? Absolutely."

Bovino explicitly named Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott as the official who made the call to strip his detail, alleging Border Czar Tom Homan was standing right there when it happened. He claimed his family has been targeted to the point where the FBI had to intercept his mail. Yet, Bovino went out of his way to insulate the President personally, blaming internal "gatekeepers" instead:

"I don't think Trump would [want me dead]. I think if Trump knew what they had done and what they would do to Border Patrol agents or ICE officers or anyone that disagrees with them, I think he would have an absolute panic attack or a heart attack over something like that."

What we are watching play out is a classic institutional purge. When high-level policies result in dead American citizens and overwhelming legal fallout, the political machine doesn't accept blame at the top. It finds its most zealous enforcer, burns him as a scapegoat to insulate the higher-ups, and discards him the second he becomes a liability.

Bovino built his entire career inside a system that treats people as disposable assets. He was more than happy to drive that machine while he held the bullhorn. Now that the same system has turned its gears on him, he expects the public to care.

We don't need to feel a shred of pity for Greg Bovino to recognize the rot at play here. Pointing out that his security was pulled isn't a plea for sympathy for a disgraced commander. It is an exposure of how this administration operates: it demands total, ruthless obedience, and the exact second you stop being useful, it throws you to the side of the road.
