You've heard of the 3 essential food groups well this is about the 3 essential food groups of love.

I call them:

Spirit
Mind
Body

For me, true love would be a proper balance of these three essential groups - an ideal partner can provide a balance of all of these nutrients.

But, when I first meet someone. I think the balance tends to be out of whack. I might find that the attraction starts because of a physical need - Body. I'm getting so much of that one thing, that it clouds the needs of Mind and Spirit.

One day when I was out in the field something unexpected happened. I was just standing there watching the butterflies perform their dance. As I looked on, something flew by me. I really didn’t pay attention, as many butterflies were in the area. But then, it flew by closer. It circled around me. At first, I thought it was just another butterfly, no different than the others and I had grown weary of the chase. That is, until I looked closer. Then I saw that it wasn’t a butterfly at all, but a bird. I whistled to the bird and it played a beautiful song back at me. I admired its grace and beauty. It made me smile as it zipped through the fields soaring up to the heavens. I moved on, thinking I would never see the bird again. But it returned to me, over and over again. At one point, I started to become enamored with my newfound friend. But then I realized she was a bird, not a butterfly. I didn’t know how to deal with her. But she kept singing her song, sowing her beauty in my heart. Even when she wasn’t around, I carried that song inside me. It serenaded me to sleep each night and stirred my head from my pillow each morning. No butterfly had ever done this or was even capable of singing such a song. And so that little bird opened my eyes, my ears and my heart, to what could be.

That just made me smile. It's been a few days since that has happened. Nice to know there are sensitive men out there. Maybe I'll find one someday

It seems like I have the guts to go for it but no one ever returns what I give.

That's funny that you should say that about giving. I've noticed that the litle things you give away all the time, well they bring little "gifts" in return. But if you want to get back more, you do have to give more. Sometimes you meet someone and it seems like they want the gift you have to offer. So you share it with them. But sometimes these people realy aren't intertesd in what you are giving, they are just pure takers for the sense of taking. Don't give up. One day you will meet another giver. When you do, that person will give it all back to you and more.
