10...9...8... "No I won't do it,"...6...5..."I hate you when you are drunk,"...2...1...
The sky lit up every colour of firework imaginable, sadly for those stood nearby it was the fireworks flaring on the balcony that caught most people's attention.
Amy and Matt were in a full blown argument, for five years Matt had given Amy everything she needed. His willingness to support her had meant she had turned a blind eye to some of his failings. Give him a drink and he would turn into someoen she didn't know, nor would ever want to.
This evening Matt had been drinking since 7pm, New Year celebrations were well underway in the exclusive bar they had gained entry to. Matt was good at greasing the right palms, his devious ways helped him make money from those less fortunate his dealings often leaving people broken and in poverty.
A recent deal had been causing Amy to have sleepless nights, she hated the way Matt earned his money, but through her naivity she had become tottally dependent on him. He wanted Amy to take part in an elaborate scam that would land them millions, her morals however had intervened resulting in the explosive argument.
Matt knew that he could find a host of girls to take Amy's place, not for love but for money. Greed had him tightly in his grip. What he had with Amy he would never find, he was too blinded by money to realise.
As the bangs echoed through the air, Matt told Amy it was over, confused and hurt she staggered to the toilets, her make up streaming down her pale cheeks. Dabbing her eyes she made her way out side lonely, confused she climbed into the limo Matt had organised.
Sobbing into her tissue, her blue eyes now puffy and red, she pulled her shawl tight around her seeking some comfort from the terrible situation she was now faced with.
"Drive," she sobbed hoping the driver would know where to go.
