hey hey everyone ...

Just graduated from college ....

Born and raise in one of the many Chinatowns of New York City ....

Both parents originally from China ...

Able to speak Cantonese, but unable to write or read. Regretted never trying learning it.

Walk out my door, there are like tons of Chinese restaurants. Alot of Fukinese Restaurants are popping up around my area recently. Never really try them, until recently. I would say the cuisine is Okay.

Okay, hope this post wasn't too long. Don't want people falling asleep while reading it. I guess this is a nice length.

I only get on Lit for a short time every day so I am in and out.
Mia mentioned food.

I love it. While Indonesian food is still the greatest to me and I do not eat much of anything without sambal. I also love food of the phillipines. We make lumpia ever two month. I also love adobo. We lived in a place that had a large Phillipino community and had some great experiences.
We do not have any Indonesian restaurants anywhere near us so we travel about 100 miles to the closest Indian restaurant.
We think the US Chinese Restaurants are just for the US taste. Nothing like being in a real chinese restaurant. Too many chains now too. Buffet style too. My husband doesn't mind the buffets. He likes to get his money worth.

The best chinese restaurants I've been to outside of of the Middle Kingdom is definitely in Canada....I'm so jealous of Bugga and SW!

Got to admit Canada's Chinese restaurants aren't that bad compare all the other places i visited. If I have a chance to go back, (hopefully this spring) I will definitely need some suggestion on restaurants and places to go.

You know I thought of that. Problem is that after reading everything you have wrote on this thread, you just couldn't handle it. If any of these fine women on here were to show you the littlest peek you just might lose it.

I have noticed the women here to be mature about themselves. I can't quite say the same for you. So, in the best interest of your parents, (who you would go running to if you did see something naughty), we will refrain.

What's everyone up to nowadays? I've been really busy since I'm trying to find a job while juggling lots of part time work and also organising chinese events on the side for some spare cash. I'm going to be ultra busy next week as we have an upcoming event which is include a lot of live music; all chinese singers , a band, and also chinese dj's as well. I'm going to be the host for the event so I need to do a lot of work with all the performers and sort out the backstage as well. Busy busy!

Question: Why is it so hard to find classically dressed Asians in the Toronto area who are under 30 years old (especially ones who actually speak English)? It seems that an Asian version of a preppy/classically dressed boarding school alum is rare, rare, rare (even if they're private school alum themselves). Is it some sort of rebellious ideal?

Asiasiren, I think some foods are so close in Indonesian/Malaysian and Filipino cooking. Those countries (or whatever they were in pre-Hispanic times) were linked by more than just sea farers. I still hold to the land bridge theory.
