Young, single people tend to make out like bandits with the red packets containing money, usually given by older relatives, employers, customers, etc. I heard that in some rich families, the kids might rake in as much as US$2000 or $3000 in one Chinese New Year!

In Singapore, CNY lasts for 3 days but a lot of businesses and institutions are closed for a week.

Any rich families want to adopt me real quick? I seem to only get about US$80.

Oh wait, I should start hitting up my married friends as opposed to just family...

yup, you need to be young again man. Plus, unmarried, married people have to give out money, which was really funny. My friends in U tried to get me to pay them stuff, because I said I was going to marry my girlfriend, eventually.
