Sad news about the earthquake in Pakistan/India. I hope your families and friends are safe and well...it seems such a selfish wish considering that at least 10,000 people are estimated dead. What a terrible disaster.

yes its very terrible....and it was war we were shouting about,,,,it seems naute is also not our favour....in india resuce work is on at it full...army has been sent to north kashmir to help the people

Winter is coming on and if aid doesn't reach the impacted villages soon, people will get sick...

It feels frustrating to watch the news.

Hello people,

Am visiting Ho Chi Minh City. It's quite an eye-opening experience, to be in a country that is rebuilding itself after decades of war. I hope they learn from the mistakes of other countries before them. It's a beautiful land with lots of resources and the people seem so industrious, no victim mentality.

And tipping is not done here! I wonder if tipping is part of the victim mentality.

Anyway, if you get a chance, come see this place. It's so different from what you see in the movies.

I know its been a while but nowadays it seems like Lit has just passed me by. I can't keep up everything going on here and I just don't feel like I fit here anymore.

This year has seen two natural disasters in SE Asia. I've been doing a lot of fundraising this summer, mostly towards the tsunami victims, and it never feels like enough. I would do more, but I need to concentrate on my building my own future as well.

Mia I hope to visit Ho Chi Minh one day. One day I'll save up enough money for that Asian tour!

I'll still check back every now and then (only three months since I last came here!). Hope everyone is well and good.

Hi Ask For More, it's good to see you on the thread again. I'm glad you're involved in helping victims of the natural disasters. It's just incredible what damage has been wrought here. Yesterday, the death toll in Pakistan was at 70,000. I know that's so small compared to the tsunami count, but it's still a lot of people. Winter is coming on and we are gathering blankets and coats to send to the people there. But just how many pairs of gloves and heavy wool blankets are there in a tropical country like Singapore???

Anyway, please drop by again, AFM. Don't be a stranger!
