look, i'm not trying to be hostile... but the lack of common sense applied in the statement made directly above me is somewhat appalling. Based on your experience from one asian friend, you have managed to sum up an entire race? Either your friend is Asia embodied, or you need to broaden your statistical sample size. Secondly, the tact involved in coming to an Asian thread and suggesting (with no offense intended ) that every Asian woman deserves a white man, as if white man has anything to offer that asian men don't... is tasteless at best. I'm sorry that your friend Samantha has limited herself in dating only one type of guy, it really is her loss... but if she really is as closed minded as you portray her to be, then perhaps she won't realize what she's missing anyways.

that ends my opinion on the subject. I wasn't going to say anything at all since I am of the opinion that if you don't have anything nice to say then nothing should be said. But since you made such a tasteless comment, and then refused to a) let it drop b) go away or c) realize what a stupid thing it was that you initially wrote... well, I really couldn't help myself.

Hong I agree with you. Interracial couple do need more work to make the marriage suceed. Most important, both of you need to convince your families that you really are meant for each other. And yes there are higher failure rate. Besides the usual marriage problems, you have to deal with the culture difference too.

Asian women of our generation are not the stereotypical ones the western world has been shown. I know I have tendency to shoot from the hip and I land myself in trouble sometimes.

Someone mentioned environment having an impact on our preferences. I grew up in a predominately Greek neighbourhood, we were the only Asian family on our block. I grew up dating Greek and dark haired caucasian men. My family was resigned to the fact that I would settle down with a non-Asian man.

I have never physically attracted to any Asian men, that is until my gf made a bet that she could find one. Ok, she found one but was hesitant to approach him, you snooze you lose, he's now MrWench!

As well, we're not petite either. I walked into a convenience store and the Korean proprietor asked why I was so tall (I'm 5'7") and I asked him why he was so short! HA!

The BC part stands for Born Chinese....what you put before it defines the origin. I am BBC, which is British Born Chinese, bugga is CBC, which is Canadian born, and ABC stands for American Born.

Its just an easier of describing ourselves really!
