Canada's Boycott of USA: full steam ahead

Poor Leavitt has the job of sanewashing Doddering Donnie’s constantly shifting trade war madness.

Sadly for Doddering Donnie, she’s shitty at her job. That’s what he gets for making a DEI hire to fill the “dumb blond” quota.
Shocking! A blonde joke here on the forum! Tisk, tisk.

Here's a very informative video by a well spoken southerner telling it how it is.

I notice that Ontario withdrew the new tariff on electricity. It became apparent that this tariff would mainly hurt blue states. Trump doesn't give a shit about blue states.

I appreciate that Canada is now focusing on hurting the assholes who elected Trump. That is a much more effective route to making the USA Canada's eleventh province after Trump, Musk, and Putin run our government into a ditch.

this trade war has barely begun and the White House rhetoric is already in hyper spin mode!

A few weeks ago Karoline Leavitt was all smiles and smirks mocking Canada as the "soon to be 51st State".

Now that Canada's counter tariff measures and non tariff barriers start having its effects, as clearly shown by melting US Stock Markets, it appears the joke's now over as the shit hits the fan.

Unfortunately, this is only the beginning.
Karoline Leavitt has acquired a new nickname in the White House press room: Bullshit Barbie.

She faithfully regurgitates the Administration spin each and every day, and the press has begun rolling their eyes in response.

They can't touch Carrot Caligula, so they vent their frustration on a 27-year-old "True Believer' who they've reduced to tears once already.

It was a warning shot, and Trump listened. The trade dudes meet tomorrow. Depending upon the outcome of that meeting, will dictate if those tariffs return. I suspect they will, or maybe the power will be cut off. Ford's very much like Trump.

It was known prior to the implementation. Ford called the three Governors in advance to inform them.
Trump doesn't give a shit about blue states.
I don't think he gives a shit about red states either....just himself.

We'd only take the blue states...

A Tariff is a Tax on foreign imports, paid by the company that purchases the imported products.
Tariffs are not rocket science, the concept is explained at any basic economics 101 course.

US Tariffs, such as those imposed by President Trump against Canadian products, are paid by the US Companies that import the targeted products, and ultimately the increased cost is passed along to US Consumers through higher prices.

Saint Anselm College, a small (about 2000 students) private entity located in New Hampshire, should certainly have a basic economics 101 course that's compulsory within its B.A. in Politics & Communications?

Current White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt got her B.A. in Politics & Communications at Saint Anselm College. Did she take any basic economics course?

Does she even know how tariffs work? or is she speaking to her base assuming they're clueless ?

After her ignorance was exposed, she voiced her frustration and felt insulted that a reporter was testing her knowledge. I feel sorry for her. Instead of feeling insulted she should be embarrassed, given how she had no idea of what she was talking about. Given how her job is to spin the news in favor of her goverment, you'd think she'd make an effort to brush up on topics and gain a better understanding of her talking points before risking portraying herself as a fool in front of the whole world.

I Imagine the US Administration must be heading into panic mode today.

Trump started off this trade war with big talk... clearly underestimating Canada, his advisors failed to read the room and inform him to which degree he had pissed us off.

HIs ego is keeping him from shuting his mouth, but no one is calling his bluff, Europe now slapping tarrifs on him, so is China, so is India. Canada exposed him for all to see.

He's starting to sound like a wannabee comboy: all hat no cattle.. His cattle is runing wild, runing away from grisly bears in Wall Street as US stocks melt away...

The President's narcisism is playing against him this time. Did he really think he could simply intimidate a G7 nation and walk all over us?

Don't fuck with us, remember 1812.

500 Million birds migrate to Canada every spring.

Word is many are just going to buy little sweaters and stay this fall.

40 years ago, St. Patrick's day 1985, marked the zenith of Canada-US relations as Ronald Reagan visited Canada; his first trip outside United States since being sworn in for his 2nd term (his inaugural trip during 1st term was also to Canada which was no mere coincidence).

The following video is a brief excerpt from what became known as the Shamrock Summit:

(Words spoken between 12:50 to 16:30 are an eye-opener which would suggest how the former President would surely turn in his grave if he'd seen what's become of US-Canada relations 40 years later!

🍀 happy Paddy's Day everyone 🍻

Conservative Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney was HUGELY unpopular in Canada at the time for Free Trade and the Goods & Services Tax.

Both turned out to be Huge Wins for Canada.

albeit Free Trade and GST were huge wins and legacy acomplishments, Mulroney's unpopularity came only at the later stages of his goverment's tenure and it had nothing to do with Free Trade.

Mulroney became arguably Canada's most popular PM. His 1984 election victory remains the biggest win in Canadian politics by all accounts; most seats ever, won every province and territory, highest % of vote...

The 1988 election was all about one issue, essentially a referendum on Free Trade, where Conservatives easily won a second majority. Free Trade became a corner stone that was supported by all subsequent goverments.

🍀cheers🍻
