Canada's Boycott of USA: full steam ahead

Did the boycott start yet?
it's been ongoing for 2 months now... FAFO.

By the way, beyond complete boycott on all US liquor, and avoidance of US consumable goods, Canada's now working with Australia on a US$4.2 BILLION deal to develop and implement a new state-of-the-art early warning radar system for Canada's Artic. Typically, our go-to partner is the USA, however your President made it clear you're no longer open for business, so it only makes sense to boycott your Military sector too.

FAFO. You guys are pretty stupid, but I never thought that stupid.
We're in a war dumbfuck.
By the way, US weapons are not sold to Russia or china.
We have purchased and are waiting delivery on 16 F-35's. If they show up in Canada, how are you going to stop us from selling to China? Go on please tell me. You started a war, we are not about to lose it, and if we need to partner up with China to survive that is EXACTLY what we will do and there is fuck all you can do about.

Trump is such a fucking loon!

God he’s nearly as funny as the arseholes here!

“Trump expressed bewilderment that Canada exists as an independent country.

“You add that to this country, what a beautiful land mass, the most beautiful land mass anywhere in the world, and it was just cut off for whatever reason,” he said.”

Just cut off for whatever reason! Ha ha ha!

Well, this is actualy going to be pretty funny. In a very sick way. Trump has no understanding of economics and trade, that's obvious. It’s not a subsidy. The USA runs a trade surplus with Canada outside of oil and hydro. The deficit overall is from the much needed heavy crude that Canada sells to the USA at discounted prices, as well as cheap electricity from ON. This will hurt the USA rather more than it will affect Canada.

Let's not forget Canadian nickel (50% of the USA's needs are met from Canadian nickel, which they could easily sell to the EU, Japan and China). As for their oil, China would take it in a jiffy.

Trump's creating an economic mess that will take years to unravel and incentivizes everyone else to find alternate trade partners. And that's taking no account of the gratuitous insults and juvenile posturing that might play well to a large part of the domestic voters but does not play at all well internationally.

How can the US Press Secretary announce April 2nd as a big day, and gleefully smile?

Because she’s a “made woman” and feels exempt from / immune to the hardships that will befall “the little people” when the tariffs go into effect.

🤬

Also:

Evil doers always emit a sinister laugh when innocents suffer at their hands.

🤬

JFC

SAD!!!

Also:

We. Told. Them. So.

🌷

this particular act is: shameful, unfortunate, unjustified, just plain stupid....
how can anyone make sense of the following ?

How can the US Press Secretary announce April 2nd as a big day, and gleefully smile?

What's so funny about announcing upcoming trade TAXES and an escalation of trade barriers that'll fuel inflation, higher costs to US consumers, and tank Wall Street again...?

Haven’t MAGAs always applauded new, higher taxes? No?

Gullible MAGA sheep certainly support new taxes now.

Historically, Canadians have always stood together to fight fascists.

So far we have a perfect record.

Maine hotel owner says Trump's actions against Canada have cost him "at least 90%" of his business. Seems most of his clients are French-Canadians from Quebec and they're all cancelling. I feel for the guy. Says he may have to close down. It's heart-breaking to see people's businesses destroyed because the loudmouth in the WH can't keep his mouth shut on stuff he doesn't need to say shit about.

I mean, what IS the point of shitting on Canada? Renegotiate tariffs, sure. There's a process for that, and nobody gets pissed about renegotiations. Happens all the time. But the way Trump has handled this, he's pissed off about 95% of Canadians and it's showing. They're taking actions as individuals across the board, like this. It's not driven by the Canadian Govt. Its individial Canadians make individual decisions but they're ALL doing it. It's too late to fix this too. The damage has been done.

Jeez, I was reading the comments on that X post and I can't believe how many morons there are. I had no idea there were so many actual stupid people out there. Unreal.

Well,1st there's where the raw materials come from......
  • 80% of our aluminium comes from Quebec
  • 50% of our nickel comes fron Ontario....
The intertwining of the US and Canadian auto industries......

Go for it. You get what you pay for. As well, Australia is pretty far away. Our radar is better and closer. Expanding it would not only be economical it would allow you to expand the protection we already provide you.
But go ahead. Create an enemy of your best friend. You be you.
