To be honest, what is the correct terminology? White or Black, aren't they Americans?

It bothers me that people no matter where they live always put their country of origin ahead of the country that provides for them.
For example, I have french blood, am I French Canadian? Can I speak fluent french- NO, so why would I say I am French Canadian?
I wish people of any background would start saying I am Canadian or I am American, maybe this would stop alot of the divisions among people.

Any certified therapist would know the difference between a real case of ADD or ADHD and Mom and dad pissed that their 'kid' wont sit still and shut up for an hour!

Anyone that has a child 'diagnosed' with this inbalance knows the difference-without a degree!

Come on JBJ, do you really think we are that stupid to believe that every patient that comes into a Canadian hospital is sick or injured? Just like in the US, there are people who abuse the system, and yes that increases our taxes, but with the doctor shortage many DO use the hospital as a last resort for seeing a GP. Long gone are the days where you can call up your dr Monday morning, when your child woke up Saturday morning screaming because their ear hurt, and get them in the same day! In alot of cases you are waiting at least three days to a week.

Im SURE you politely suggested, to those parents complaining about their kids needing to be on meds, for them to get parenting classes and ways to learn how to deal with the kids they turned into being uncontrolable, instead of filling out the prescription !

No. I know MDs who are totally clueless about medicine. Some are lethal in their ignorance. And every psychiatrist I know lies when it comes to diagnosing ADD and ADHD. Insurance will not pay for conduct problems, which is mostly what kids have. Real ADD and ADHD is so extreme anyone knows the kid has a serious problem because the behavior is so bizarre. Most of what we see are developmental delays (immaturity) and lack of good parental discipline.

The way to solve the healthcare problem is to reward people not to use their benefits. As it is, insurance companies reward your doctor when he/she limits your treatments below a specific amount. But if you give the money to the patient they wont come in for every minor ache and pain. Think about it: If you pay 6K-8K for health insurance, and your insurance company offers to pay you a percentage of what you dont use, you'll eat aspirin and chicken soup rather than sit in the office all morning.
