Car advice?

Depending on where you live as far as the price of gas for one! The beamer will cost more due to the high mileage as having higher maintence costs & probably requires premium higher octane fuel, in the long run probably not a good deal.
The Accura or the Altima are both very nice affordable & dependable cars, the Altima, is a nissan.....Nissans & Toyota's are said to be the best cars for the money nowdays. I personally would stay away from any used BMW with high mileage.

i owned a maxima that my mom gave me with 130,000, had 189,000 miles on it and drove like a dream when i got rid of it. my dad had one that had 220,000 miles on it when he got rid of it.

I think RED cars have the highest # of accidents

cuz the red tail-lights are harder to distinguish from the red butt of the car


I'd vote for the Acura .... totally the best of the three, as you've already figgered out, the Beemer will kill you in repair bills

I'm not too worried about that...all three are at a dealership we've bought several cars from over the years, and they like to keep us happy.

I do know that gray cars are the easist to clean and to keep it clean!

Went down today, prepared to get a car. We'd ruled the BMW out. The Acura we originally looked at was gone, and they had another, but much newer and much pricier.

My husband (who did paint and body work for 15 years) looked closer at the Altima and determined it had been wrecked at some point. No go.

Back to the drawing board.

Try the Used Cars, "advanced search" on cars.com. It's terrific because it lets you shop over a wider geographic area. I'm looking also but haven't identified a model that suits me perfectly. When I see a candidate I enter it, the year(s), max price, max mileage, distance from my zip, and voila, there's a bunch of cars (assuming my search parameters are reasonable). Any used car listed in the classifieds of the major papers in my region show up there, plus cars from dealers and other sources. It's like the ebay of cars.

What's causing us problems is that he has to be there, because 1) he's the one with the pull with the bank, since he works, and 2) I so suck at the negotiating thing.

He has very, very rare days off, usually Sundays only. Love the paychecks, but it really sucks when you both have to do something, and it falls during the week. Anything I find that suits is liable to be long gone by the time I can get him down there.
