Everytime we have sex I am on top, right when I am about to cum I get cramps in my legs or hips what can I do to stop this. I love being on top and that is the only way I can cum so I don't think changing positions would be a good option.

It really sucks because when the cramp/charley horse comes there goes my orgasim.

Bananas are supposed to be good (potassium).

I think you need to exercise your muscles so that being on top during sex isn't the most strenuous thing you're doing with them on a regular basis. If it's less work, you'll be less likely to cramp. Maybe some running or squats?

And plenty of water, not immediately before but in the 24 hours before.

The bananas are great and they do help, I suggest trying what tanyachrs said because it should work.

Well, besides that working the muscles is a very good idea, I was told that magnesium shortage can induce cramps. And a good source for that (besides pills) is chocolate. But then again, perhaps it's more of an option that you need to relax or shift your legs a bit while riding him. But chocolate won't hurt now will it? :D

What the problem could be...

Potassium and iron definicy are good causes of cramps, but I don't believe that's the problem here unless you're experiencing these all the time.

The other thing to consider is that you're giving your muscles a work out and being on top is what's considered a heavy workout. Give yourself a few minutes and stretch out your leg muscles before engaging in sexual activity. Make sure they're warmed up before having your ride. Stretching afterwards will help as well.

Don't forget proper hydration. Dehydration causes cramps too.

Also, as funny as it sounds, stretch before you start having sex. Hey, sex is an athletic event if done correctly, right? :D

I can see where I haven't taken care of myself in that aspect (plenty of water/ stretching e.t.c...)

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions :)

Yoga. Good for you, lots of fun and it limbers you up.

Also, there are a lot of fancy 'sex-chairs' and things to make the position easier...but I find a simple stool can work wonders too.

Now, as for all the pre-sex excercises: "I'm ready coach! Put me in!" :D

Male here,

every so often (maybe once a month) I'd get cramps in my hammies. I'm always on top.

I joined the gym about 9 weeks ago. Since that time I've started eating mostly correct and I exercise 4-5-6 times a week. Since that time, I've only got a cramp once, and that was when I took forever and I was going "fast and hard" for about 7-10 minutes straight (NOT normal!!!) and I finally got a small cramp, but I did work my legs at the gym that day so hey.

I think if you eat right and take vitamins and exercise a little, you'll be just fine!

This will probably sound really odd but if you get them again, sex or no sex, applying stainless steel helps diffuse the pain. I used to get them somewhat regularly and always in the middle of the night. I forget where I read about the stainless steel thing but I started keeping a large spoon on my night table and as soon as I could I'd put the spoon right on, sometimes pressing it firmly. The coolness feels good for one thing but it has always worked for me. Luckily I haven't had the trouble in a long time.

New position: spooning while on top.... :D

Cramps

My wife had the same problem, except I was on top! I guess the problem stems from having your legs spread more than normal. She tired the banana thing and it helped some. Potassium pills (vitamin K) helped too. However, what really helped was quinine. Got to have a script though.
