"Chick Think" Let's Talk About it, Shall we?

California is no longer merely misgoverned; it is actively embracing a form of progressive self-destruction, systematically dismantling its own industry and infrastructure to satisfy the theological whims of its gyno-fascists.
So you aren't vacationing there?

As a federal republic, are they allowed to or is that against the rules?

Even the democrat candidate is AWOL.
My partner called me last night to report the latest financial casualty from the coast: he was just forced to part with $90 in Los Angeles for the grand privilege of filling a mere half-tank of gasoline. The state that once conquered the future through the triumph of the open road has committed a spectacular act of auto-cannibalism, regulating its energy and economy until its own working class is effectively placed under suburban house arrest.

If only there wasn't a war to drive gas prices up.

You ask with wide-eyed innocence whether California is 'allowed' to implement these ruinous policies, as if the Constitution contained a clause forbidding a sovereign state from making an absolute fool of itself. The very essence of a federal republic is that a state possesses the absolute, undisputed right to govern its internal affairs, which includes the glorious, undisputed right to tax its corporations into exile, starve its own power grid, and ground its working class with $7 gasoline.

When the structural failures of these policies become too glaring to ignore, the ruling class never accepts responsibility. Instead, they produce a new villain to distract the angry taxpayer. If the grid falters, it is blamed on "unprecedented weather events" rather than a lack of baseline power plants. If gas prices soar, it is blamed on "corporate greed" rather than the state's own punitively designed carbon fees.

There is no 'rule' in the Constitution that protects a populace from the consequences of its own voting habits. California is perfectly free to embrace its own economic decline, and you are perfectly free to stand on the sidelines, completely unburdened by a single understanding of how our government actually works.

So states aren't able to do what they see is best for their citizens?

Interesting if true.

California's diminished refining capacity is a perfect example of the left's delusional economic suicide at the alter of the green climate change zealots. Oil passage through the straights are at pre war levels, refining capacity is lagging. Russian refineries are blowing up daily.

You should make a thread about it... There hasn't been enough threads about the state

One couldn't hack it in California, and the other was too pussy to try. :nana: :p

I wasn't responding to you.
There is something exquisitely pathetic about receiving a lecture on politics and statecraft from an internet operator whose entire public identity consists of a dog in dark glasses clinging to a teddy bear. One can only marvel at the profound solitude required to curate the image in his avatar. He sits alone in his room, starving for the slightest crumb of human interaction, desperately throwing out contrarian remarks on a public forum just to feel the warm glow of an incoming notification. That plush toy in his avatar is clearly a piece of autobiography, a visual cry for help from a person who has substituted digital arguments for actual companionship. It is a beautiful irony: he comes here attempting to act like an intellectual titan, but his choice of graphics reveals him to be a lonely soul who simply needs a hug and a break from the screen. He should put down his mouse, find a real friend to talk to, and leave the discussion of adult matters to the people who don’t require a stuffed animal to navigate their day.

California is perfectly free to embrace its own economic decline

Why do you make up dumb things?

California’s economy isn’t in decline. The GDP growth rates of the states for 2Q 2026 were released yesterday, and California’s GDP growth (2.5%) was higher than the US overall (2.2%).

Your Idaho was at just 1.5%.

The states with shrinking economies were Alaska, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas and West Virginia. All “red” states.

The fastest growing state was New York (4.0%).

In 2025, California had the second highest GDP growth rate. Alaska was #1.

While our progressive friend, MR, is busy throwing confetti over California barely edging past a mediocre national average of 2.2%, she conveniently ignores what that number actually represents. For an economy that boasts of being the fourth-largest on the globe, a 2.5% crawl is not a triumph; it is a sign of a massive machine beginning to rust. When the unrivaled capital of technology and agriculture is performing on par with a sluggish national baseline, the engines are clearly choking on Sacramento's regulatory smog.

The fatal flaw of the statistician is her total blindness to the horizon. A single quarter of GDP growth does not erase the systemic flight of multi-billion-dollar corporate taxpayers, nor does it put a single dime back into the pocket of the commuter paying $6.44 a gallon at the Los Angeles pumps. A state can momentarily inflate its ledger through massive government spending and high-margin tech gains while its foundational infrastructure, middle class, and civic sanity continue to rot from within.

I love how you douches respond to my replies to other people consistently , yet somehow I'm not allowed to...lol.

Btw - that's not my entire public identity. Though it is a fun one 👍

The 2.2% growth rate achieved by the US under the direction of your idol is rather sad. It’s good that you admit it. The 1.5% growth rate of your beloved Idaho is pathetic, frankly.

Poor dum-dum. 😆
