I smiled sweetly and looked him up and down.
"Why do you need her?" I asked questionably, my natural curiousity taking over .. that and he looked strange..
"Danger?!" I paused a moment, stopping to look way up there at him.
"You are giving me a kink in my neck.. Come closer please.." I smiled sweetly, hoping he would tell me more.
"And the other is a secret heh?" I grinned a little, "Why won't you tell me? and I might know who she is.."
I thought about it a moment and then nodded my head.
"Sure, come with me." I started trekking home, slowly winding my way through the crowded streets and back to my home. Walking up the stairs I held the door and ushered him inside.
"This way." I led him to the den, Once inside I climbed up into the seat behind the desk and plastered a grin on my face.
Now this was a good place to act grown up.
"What is it you wished to say to me Rock?"
I glanced at him, curious why he would ask me such a silly question!?
"Yeah, been told I have many.. " I paused, wondering what he wanted from me and just what I would get out of it as well?
Rock sighed "For 4 years now, their had been word in the dark reigon of the world about a girwho possesed powers that can either help, or even destroy mankind."
He gave an quick glance out side because he smelt human flesh, then continued. "I had heard that some are willing to give a shot, and have their wishes come true, if the rumor was true to that extent.... Sadly, I am also after a favor... which had someting to do with my life a long... long... time ago..."
"I see.. Well I am her and Your rumors are correct. What is it you seek from me Rock?" I sat forward in the chair, resting my elbows on the table and cupping my little chin, watching him with huge curious eyes.
I smiled, he could be interesting as a new play toy.. Oh. well proper word was servant.. Hmmmm I wondered if he was skilled in weapons.
"Tell me about you, what you do and such things.." I was proud of myself, conducting an interview all grown up like!
Rock gave a small laugh "You shouldn't grow up too quickly you know, you're only young once! Take it from a person who lived for at least 500 hundred years!"
"So you find my humorous do you?" I had yet to take insult but he was treading a thin line right now.
"Alright then.. You can tell me or leave. Take your pick, but I am not some simple child either. I asked a question respectively, and would like an answer please. I would like to know who seeks my help, who he is. and just why he needs my help." I sat back and folded my arms against my body, sitting indian style in the chair and waited.
Rock's eyesbecame hard and angered. He hated serious people. he had hoped she had a sence of humer
"I was only trying to lighten then mood for what I was about to tell you... That person who lived for at least over 500 years is me, and you do not know what I had seen over the years..."
"(The fuedel age, Japan)"
"When this happened, I was 16, and my family lived in a village... My brother, was Gill, or Zerro as people liked to call him. We lived in peace. happy just to train as fighters just in case some others attacked our village.
"That was untill... Untill a sorcerer attacked our village. My mother, my father, my freinds, were all killed before me..."
Rock paused trying to hold back the tears that tried to escape his crimson red eyes
"I am sorry Rock...." I felt sad for him, to lose everyone and be alone. I knew what that was like as well.
"I do like a good joke and fun too.. Just uncertain why you would need me and if I am in danger around you?" I paused looking at him and then smiled, "Do you like cookies?"
I smiled and nodded, holding up a finger a moment and pressing the intercom button.
"Lissa would you bring me in some cookies and milk please." I released the button and grinned, "I do like stories, tell me more?" I got comfortable in the chair, wiggling around a little and watching his face intently.
"My town was on fire... ut the wost to see was what Zerro should have saw.... A girl named yui, the gilr that I suspected my rother was in love with, Was killed, right in front of my eyes...
"Zerro, was fighting the sorcerer when I found him, he lost... And curse simular to mine was put on him, only worst. He would turn into a were wolf, and will kill for no apparent reason, basicly, the more he fought. the more he wanted blood sheded... And he tured me into a kitsune.
"She's here."
A general rousing had begun between the few people now sitting around both Depp and the crystal ball. Each had tried to put their mind off the talisman that lay betwixt them. Depp's stance never faltered at the window, a constant watch over the horizon.
"Bring her in."
An elder woman hobbled into the room. Her scraggled gray hair fell about her shoulders, covering a tatter black cloak that dragged against the floor. She favored one side, using a cane to help in her walk, everyone felt pity for her until they looked at her face. Two wild eyes that stared down anyone willing to make eye contact. Inside that fragile body held the anger of a lion, and each man felt it.
"Did yee get it?" Her voice came out strong, throaty. She barked her words to the room, where no one spoke, but everyone listened.
"We did," Depp turned to point at the oracle.
She sat down next to it, placing herself in front of the dark pink swirls of smoke that now gathered. A regular storm inside the curled glass.
"Much power, very much." Her hands rolling along the clear glass, as she did, sparks flew inside the ball. Little bolts of lightening inside the storm that now raged within her palms.
"She knows," Depp's eyes sparked as he heard word of the girl."
"She is alive?"
The woman cackled, a dry thick putrid sound that disturbed each of the undead monsters, except for Depp, he still kept himself fixed on what the woman did.
"Ay, she lives. She has been ordained, and she knows. Such a smart little girl."
Depp growled, "Where?"
Her eyes staring, piercing in the storm of pink, the hazy clouds reflecting in her eyes, casting their own glow. She looked to the right, and back to the left.
"Too hard to tell. In the city yes, to the west, but I don't know."
Depp knelt down before the woman, "You said you could tell me."
"I can," her voice rose just as his did, "But without the necklace, I can give yee no more than a general direction, and cookies."
Depp glanced at the ball. For a moment the world lost its grip on him, and he went falling through the layers of fog. They opened up around him, and he could see.
He could see cookies and milk.
Depp blinked, keeping his eyes closed until he was back at the spot in the window. That damned ball. Taking in a deep breathe, he leaned his weight against one of the walls. He felt tired all of a sudden.
"You never told us where the necklace is kept?"
She smiled, "The museum. Its on display at the moment. Supposed to be an ancient native american artifact."
Depp waved at the rest of his men, who scattered before he could drop his arm to his side.
"We'll be back."
Cheeks full of cookies I had to drink to swallow before answering him.
"Sure you don't want any?" I grinned, licking the chocolate from my lower lip.
"Well I am sorry to hear that Rock.. Sounds rather confusing but I do understand a curse was laid upon you and your brother and wish it was gone, yes?" I smiled, hopeful that I had guessed right..
"Where is your brother? If you wish me to cure you, why not him as well?" I asked increasingly curious.
"I wish you could, but to find him will be ipossible, It was found out that the sorcerer put a spell where if any abnormal abilatyss that tried to find him will die" Rock paused for a moment, "I wouldn't want you to get hurt."
Gazing down from the top of the downtown shop, he adjusted his sunglasses against the penetrating afternoon sun.
He usually didn't pay any attention to the comings and goings of the others. Vampires, werewolves, hunters... they had theirs, and he was happy to leave them with it... but this time was different. So many gravitating to one area.
Though some still seemed to be drifting, it was here that they stopped. Why? He wasn't sure... maybe it was that other thing. That thing he couldn't put his finger on. It was here as well, whatever it was, and he be damned if he didn't have some fun with it.
He lifted his head towards the sky, and laughed a little. Whatever was going to happen, it certainly wouldn't be during the day. Not with this crowd. Half of them couldn't take the daylight, and the other half had nothing to do until it was dark.
Might as well take a look around... I don't even know what this hole is called
He walked gracefully towards the back of the building, and without a pause leapt over the edge.
I grinned and shrugged, eating another cookie while I thought about it.
"How would I get hurt if I brought him here? Of Course to do such a thing I would have to..... " I paused trying to recall what Master had said to me?
"I need to home my skills!" I grinned again with a cheesy smile and drank some milk. What the Master had said in truth was 'hone' her skills but it sounded to her to be accurate.
I thought again for a second and still did not understand all of it.
"I am told I carry alot of wheat on my shoulders and that I could cause cata... cat... a big mess if I wasn't carefull with what gifts I had." I was tired, words were escaping my mind and something else was bothering me as well. I could usually remember everything word for word, but today I was weary and drained. Perhaps it was because of what happened down town just a little while ago?
"I will help you Rock, if you will help me in return?" I paused, my eyes turning dark as I thought or tried to a little better. "I need someone I can trust to watch over me, guard my back and protect me. I do not know you and you do not know me, so trust isnt established just yet, but it could if we got to know each other a little more, hung out?" I grinned, I recalled that word from t.v.
"What say you?"
