"I'd rather a crazy fox than some boring girl," Sam muttered in return, kissing her lips.

"Alright you two, save it for the bedroom," Suara chuckled.

"Yeah, Samuel. Or else you'll be telling your mother that there are two kits on the way." Fiona teased as Suara broke them up with a jest.

"She would pretend to be mad, but she'd love it," Sam rolled his eyes.

Soon Suara finished, making sure both their tattoos were properly cared for and covered before she let them go. "Go home, you two. It's late and I'm sure Julia's worried you just disappeared."

"Thank you, Suara." Fiona said kissing the wolf's cheek with a smile. "I'll bring you buy some supplies tomorrow by way of payment."

"Come by for lunch, then. I'd like to talk to you about your father. Brogan tells me he'll be coming before long." Suara kissed both their cheeks. "And keep your man from brooding too much more tonight. He's well over quota for the month already."

"I'm trying my hardest, but it is a full time job." Fiona said with a smile as she took Sam's good hand and they left Suara's little home.

"Well, your brother about to become a father is certainly startling news." Fiona said as they were alone, walking towards Dun to head back to the keep. "Your Ma might tan his hide for being reckless."

"If she doesn', Da certainly will, considerin' Naiya an' Rho agreed cubs we're somethin' they were gonna wait on fer a while. Naiya mus' either be scared 'r in denial if she 'asn't told Rho yet." Sam climbed into the saddle and helped Fiona up in front of him.

"We are going to set firm rules right now about the two of us. No children for the first few years that we're married. You are busy with work and I'll be busy with work. We have no business trying to raise a child right now." Fiona murmured as she settled into the saddle in front of him.

"I figured tha' was a given already," Sam murmured, letting an arm drape around her as Dun set off. "I'll jus' steal Rho's cub from time t'time. Maybe Annie an' Kayla's little ones too."

"You'll be the uncle that they adore. And with the dragons, you would have the opportunity to visit Kate's children in Edinburgh as well." Fiona said with a smile, laughing as Sam daydreamed about his nieces and nephews in a way that she had never seen before.

"I'm interested t'see what kind o' Aunt you'll be." Sam smiled down at her. "I feel like yer th'type t'help th'little ones get in trouble."

"Nah, I'll be the aunt that keeps them from getting into too much trouble with you." Fiona said with a smile as he seemed almost giddy. "But now you have to have a serious talk with your father. I don't think that Rho will be taking the throne now."

Sam sighed and leaned against her. "I know. And he's probably know for a while tha' Rho wouldn' be king. I don' know if I can take tha' responsibility."

"And why can't you?" Fiona asked, looking over her should at him. "Sam, I think you would be the perfect king. You are more like your father than you think, with a touch more brooding."

"I jus' don't think I'm what Inverness needs. Together, Ma an' Da are practically unshakable. They never lose their tempers about their work, an' the people love 'em. They're patient an' while Da still pushed 'imself sometimes, they know when t'let things go tha' are out o' their hands. I don' know if I could be half th'leader either o' them are," Sam explained quietly. It wasn't often that he poured out his worries like that.

"Well, you would have me. I can pick up the slack when you think you can't handle everything." Fiona said softly as he poured out his concerns. "And I will love you no matter what you choose to do, Sam. I just think that you should give it some serious thought. I think you would be a great king if you could simply learn to loosen up and take things as they come."

"I've never been able t'relax when it comes to a job," Sam shook his head. "But yer right... I'll have you." He leaned down to kiss her cheek. "I'll talk t'Da about it soon..."

"I'll hold you to it." Fiona said as he kissed her cheek.

The rest of the evening was uneventful, but the next morning things had changed. When Sam and Fiona had entered the great hall, it seemed as if the news of Naiya's upcoming child had been announced to Julia and Brogan. Rho had a silly little smile on his face as his father grilled him about how he would support Naiya and their child while Julie comforted a tearful Naiya.

"Better him than us." Fiona said softly as she took Sam's hand for him to lead the way.

While Naiya knew both the Ghis and her own family would support her and it was a comfort, she was still terrified of being a mother. That didn't mean she wasn't excited, but the nerves we're taking a toll on her. Rho was there to reassure her, and while he was nervous too, he was also ecstatic.

As Sam and Fiona entered, Brogan looked up from his conversation with Rho. "Sam, c'mere lad, an' beat yer brother for me."

"Is there anything that the two of you need to tell us as well? Ciaran and Justin told us last night that they are looking into adopting a cub of their own. Between Annie and Kate and the three of you boys, our family will soon outgrow all of Inverness." Julia commented as she hugged Naiya against her side.

"I can assure you that we have nothing on the way now or any time in the future." Fiona swore as Brogan begged his son to beat up on his brother for him.

Sam got Rho in a light headlock, making Rho laugh and squirm away before coming to Naiya's side. Sam looked to his mother. "Since when were Justin an' Ciaran plannin' tha'? I thought they were gonna wait."

"They met a particular cub in Hara Aoli's care," Rho explained. "Not even three months old, a little Wolf cub. She's absolutely lovely."

"You were gone chasing me all winter, Sam. Things have changed." Fiona said with a grin as Sam seemed a little overwhelmed with everything.

"Looks like." Sam sighed but smiled. "How are ya, Naiya?" He asked softly, reaching out to touch her cheek.

"Terrified," she admitted quietly. "I don't think I'm mother material... Not yet anyway."

"You'll learn." Fiona said as Naiya admitted that she was scared. "And I'm sure you'll be one of the best mothers in Inverness before everything is said and done."

"Ye'll have plenty o' help," Brogan assured her with a kind smile. "Anythin' you need, any advice, ye've got two families t'look after you."

Naiya nodded and after a long moment she looked to Rho. "Can we go somewhere quiet to talk?" Rho nodded, rising to wrap his arm around her and bringing her away to his room.
