Climate continues to change.

You're still not understanding epistemic connectedness, and I made no analogy. If there is an analogy to be made, it is between the anti-science propagandists who deny global warming, and young Earth creationists who deny a billions of years old planet. To hold the Earth is only thousands of years old is, by the commensurability of scientific theory, to deny a very large body of science information. Analogously to deny global warming.

I'm not your instructor; if you want to learn more about commensurability, you do that on your own time. Until then, you can have your little fuck fuck games. :)

Rob always feels smart "too" when he types epistemic.

Who, have you ever seen deny that dark colors absorb more solar radiation, the root of your flawed premise?

Poor little diddums can't go three posts without throwing up a strawman to argue.

^ My little sub is always looking to get disciplined by Daddy. :)

Who are you trying to kid? Everybody can see that you're a bottom, Bob.

That's why you signed up for the gay gym rat special at your plastic surgeon.

Human-induced climate change is recent and real. If you think otherwise, move to a trailer on the Florida coast.

It's irrelevant why climate changes.

Nothing you can do will stop the climate from changing. If Humana are affecting the climate, then so what?

I don't care WHY it changes. It would change with our without our input, so it truly just doesn't MATTER why it is changing.

Roll with it because that's all you can do.

I'll turn up the a/c in the summer (or perhaps turn up the heat in the summer if things swing the other way). You can cry into your beer (that was brewed 2000 miles away and trucked to you in a refrigerated, air ride tractor trailer rig on superhighways made of black asphalt.)

Take the climate change challenge and stop eating, drinking or consuming anything that wasn't produced on your own property by your own efforts.

Correct, climate changes.

What you're failing to understand, is that human greed will cause climate to change in a way that causes human downfall.

There is no downside to acting to prevent climate change.

Let's assume that you and the other anti-science folks are 100% right...

We stop having a detrimental effect on climate, or we dont, but we still work towards having a more sustainable and long-lasting earth. There is no downside.

But of course, people like you are lazy. And you can't fix lazy.

You can't possibly be dumb enough to think that we humans will last forever? Let's say we learn to control the climate as you want. Sooner or later the sun is going to blow up...

If human society as it currently exists collapses because it is too hot or too cold, then ok. It collapses.

Who's the bearer of bad tidings now?

Certainly, all y-all will be here in September:

Climate Variability in Antarctica and the Southern Hemisphere in the past 2000 years

Tuesday 4th- Wednesday 5th September 2018

British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge, UK.

This is an open meeting (limited to 40 participants) to engage a broad spectrum of the scientific community working on climate variability in the southern hemisphere over the past 2000 years. It is open to paleoclimatologists working on a range of archives (such as ice cores, lake sediments, marine records, and terrestrial records), climatologists and climate modellers. Our aim is to review and evaluate our current understanding of the drivers of Southern Hemisphere climate variability, through short presentations, posters and discussion sessions.

The final programme will circulated following the CLIVASH2k kick-off meeting in Davos (http://pastglobalchanges.org/ini/wg/2k-network/projects/clivash/meetings/127-pages/1731-polar-18).

Register for this event:

Registration deadline: 17th August

Pumping gigatons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere has an effect. Pumping less will eventually lessen the impact. How long can you tread water?

You can cry into your beer (that was brewed 2000 miles away and trucked to you in a refrigerated, air ride tractor trailer rig on superhighways made of black asphalt.)
I prefer local brews, thanks. You can have your Coors-Miller-Bud-whatever, BTW the traditional call for Coors is OFP, Old Fairy Piss. Have a chug.

Take the climate change challenge and stop eating, drinking or consuming anything that wasn't produced on your own property by your own efforts.
Human industrial activity has drastically increased global temperatures. Reducing hydrocarbon burning can reduce that effect. "If you have a bad cold, take a shot of malaria." That's industry for you.

Cue Que to claim sea level is just one level, you know, because the oceans are all connected.

West Antarctic ice melt poses unique threat to U.S.

The location of the ice melt is important for determining the future of coastal communities, according to climate scientists. And, due to West Antarctica melting, it turns out that the U.S. coastline will be hit extra hard, paying a sea level rise tax of about 25%.

Until you're ready to give up your car, your computer, your coffee maker, your electric lights, your Central heat, your house for that matter, since it was certainly built using materials from all over the country or even the world, STFU.

But you, along with everybody else, have no intention of giving up YOUR creature comforts. (Ask Al Gore what his electric bill was last month at ANY of his residences).

Hypocrite.

I don't drink beer, btw, but your local brew was created using tools and technology from all over, not just your county. The chances of the yeast being locally sourced? Zero. Local LOL

Recycling and using sustainable energy sources will drastically reduce the amount of fossil fuels needed to keep you warm and happy. Al Gore figured that out forty years ago. It's your turn now.

Al Gore is the poster child for conspicuous consumption.

$30k / year utility bills. And that is WITH using whatever strategies to conserve or recycle.

On the other hand, I don't use fossil fuels to stay warm. I use renewable energy for heating (wood). And I rarely fly my private jet to the vacation villa.

You still fail to get it.

If the energy is from sustainable sources, it doesn't matter how much Al Gore or anyone else uses.

Delusional

Where exactly is Al Gore getting sustainable jet fuel that doesn't release CO2 into the atmosphere?

Got it now!

Only unsustainable sources of energy contribute to global warming -phrodeau.

So if we install those dirty old vw diesels into all our cars and run them with biofuel, then we can all go back to having two cars per person.

And we can clear cut the Amazon rain forest for firewood to run the power plants for our electricity. As long as we plant new trees of course!

Exactly. Move to the head of the class.

The global warming we are now facing is a direct result of digging up fuels and burning them, increasing CO2 levels in the air. Biofuels don't do that; firewood doesn't do that. It's the fossil fuels.

Where do you suppose those fossil fuels came from? The cavemen went and buried all the Dino's and trees or something?

Or possibly, millions of years before we happened along, the climate changed... Or maybe it was dino-fart.

Anyway, yes, as you point out so eloquently, climate changes, even without our input.

We should maybe cork all the volcanoes, while we're at it, so they stop adding their sequestered carbon to the atmosphere!

Will, I'm hoping into my dinosaur burning personal conveyance to go home to sip a nice Old Fashioned on the deck. (Made from Trex!) (The deck, not the drink)
