Colony 5309

Waiting for posts in story Aaron for both characters. Can't logically continue and keep the continuity 'til others have and don't forget ration bar stew either. *LOL

Ok hows that?

Aaron are you sure you want to just 'warp' everyone there as if it's that close I, for one, may prefer to have Lance remain in the ship until daylight since I have no idea how far the walk is.

Also it's not 'usually done' to just move other's characers around or have them do something w/o asking first. Another for instance Jenkins may have preferred to mount a guard and stand it while the others ate and have his when someone was finished.

Actully I think this works better but i can change it as needed. thing is it's been slow getting everyone together. and with an Empath a Guard isn't needed. She can sence anything living entering the valley. People are getting confused about where they are. I can take it out and see how it flows. just trying to clear up a bit of the mess.

I haven't specified but you can see the Dewlling form the Crash sight. tell you want i'll take out the warping factor. Got a nother idea that isn't so controling.

She can sense sentient things not those without what we call feelings like a swarm of ???? or plants that ??? only visual can spot that.

Just a suggestion. If others have a problem they'll say so and my use of Lance and Jenkins was an example to you.

Aaron, Melessia, Dom and Lance are all online now and we'll get ourselves there in short order given a bit.
Lemme PM msboy and be sure he's still here before you do anyting okay?

BS* Much better and I can npc Dom to the shelter and table where he can eat and he'll introduce himself at dinner when msboy is back again.

Ok i found the problem at one Point, Erika Christensen, Dominick Landry, Alan Crowe and Messalina Bishop were all in the Hiber-chamber together. then they left and suddingly Messalina got left behind and Dom forgot alan was with them. and Dominick Landry suddnly was back with Messalina and Alan Crowe was just about to come apone the Shelter.

Once MM posts I will Aaron and between the two of us Melissia/Dom and Lance will be there before bedtime.

It oftens happens that a post is missed or misread but this is a no biggie and we'll have it fixed in no time.

My 2¢

Sometimes it's just easier to move forward than to try to untangle things. Kind of like in real life when life gives you lemons. You all know how it goes. ;)

Anyhow, I dont see that we (the characters) will all always be together or even see every character interacting consistently. It just isn't viable or practical.

It'll unravel and how lucky am I to be with two men? :D

And real time time zone differences, work, etc can slow it down too.

Mmmmm how lucky are they to have you between 'em MoM. *G

Okay... I've upped the ante to 25¢

Okay... here I am again. :(

I understand wanting to integrate thoughts and ideas into this story -- there are some brilliant possibilities in the offing. I do feel that I have to say that it might be best to let them evolve rather than erupt. All things come in good time, yes?

The story will make more sense (at least to me) if the crash victims adapt slowly to their new environment rather than... Okay, straight out this is looking like we've fallen down the rabbit hole and ended up at some surreal futuristic tea party.

No, I'm not recommending any major rewrites or edits. I am suggesting a slowdown of sorts so that all players (me, mostly) can get their heads around what's happening before there is some new mind-boggling event thrown at them.

Messa is coming into the camp now, but please don't expect her to see, know or understand (even remotely) what she is going to see there. It's just not possible, likely or probable. At least not in my mind's eye.

Sci-fi, fantasy or whatever the genre, I think it's important to keep some form of "reality" in any story or it will just be a pile of mush that no one will be able to wade through.

Just my two bits worth. Whatcha think?

I have to agree - us military types are used to disasters and disruption, but everyone seems most calm and organised about things.

Let's slow down things a little and feel our way into some character development and relationship building.

I'll third the motion, especially as Lance and Messa haven't even gotten there yet and are still walking down the trail between ship and valley shelter site.

"character development and relationship building", acclimating to a 35 hour day, different flora and fauna, different smells and sounds, 'the lay of the land', etc, etc, etc ad infinitum.

We were two days post crash, now we're four days. No food stuffs could germinate, grow, be harvested under ideal hydroponic conditions in that time let alone in nature with unknown pests, etc and while building a shelter and quarrying rock, etc.

Aaron not bitching just pointing things out is all and there's no rush or hurry. I suggest, as others have, letting the story evolve on it's own and we each commit to one or more posts a day whenever possible (rt, interacting partner being able, etc) so it keeps moving along. I think if we do that we'll build a helluva story in time.

I'd also suggest that we all try, I'm a big offender here I know *s, to be sure we've read all of the posts and remember what's in the ones pertinent to us when replying so we don't commit continuity discrepencies.

My .65 cents worth for what it's worth for you all to consider.

Hmmmmmm...

Once again Dom is being left out/ignored. He has Messalina by the hand, but no one seems to acknowledge the fact. As a matter of fact, I believe we are all at the dinner table now...

we are not all at the dinner table now...

You've only just been invited. Your right about the crops, none are ready yet. All we got there is Fish and Rice. Even given fertilizer and higher level of technology. Nothing is ready. With the exception of the Bamboo. Which i developed over a few days and stated it grew at much faster then normal speed. I never really spelled out each day and night when Warrick was a lone. I'm sure somewhere i said it's been a few more days added here and there, as far as the dwelling and the Plowing I computed the distances and work and added it together. I'm sorry if you all have felt rushed.

And msboy8 pp01 moved Dom, earlier there was a discrepancy with four of the characters being in the hiber-chamber then all somewhere else, while others moved on. MM and PP did some patching. The monk did sneak up unnoticed. he gets overlooked all the time, hes just that way.

For the next few days Warrick is going to be building dwellings and moving things from the ship to the camp with Ohthree. He’ll be there for a few questions but no a lot of details. Tell who every want’s a room gets one.

the Field can be seen from the Crash sight which is much higher elevation. It’s like walking down a long gradual hill till it levels out.

Warrick was out 8 Days prior to Warrant

There it is dead center of the 4th post

"Ten square meter dwelling in a week isn’t bad considering the few days it took me to find a good rock quarry. "

it's about a week after crash. I posted that after emergance of
Senior Warrant Officer Rod Jenkins, MedTech SSgt Alan Crowe - UTMC. Sorry if i wasn't clear about it before.
