I feel like that comment may have inadvertently (or deliberately?) summoned a demon.

I dunno cars super well but she can use Positraction to slip her differential into the independent rear suspension of my '64 Skylark any day.

Yeah, I know this is from over a week ago, but I was just looking at my data.I actually love that he did that. Dunno about his feedback, but the idea of someone saying 'I didn't like this, but other people told me to give it a chance, so I'm going to do my best' -- that's kind of great, actually.
If his comments are moderated, the day-and-a-half would be the right time frame. If not, you are probably right. The two previous votes came in a day-and-a-half and eleven-days previously,
I called it "The Argument Pyramid" as a bit and that's the name they remembered instead of Hierarchy of DisagreementA lovely comment from Anon, but (like some other comments) completely ignoring that the story was co-written (with @PennyThompson) and clearly and repeatedly marked as such.
No time to read all the comments, the previous few making great points. The author demonstrated a very good working knowledge of the philosophers, and the argument pyramid. Superb character development. Interesting, and yes complicated plot with surprises. The author has Hall of Fame capacity. thc
Yeah... moderation was in the back of my mind when I typed that, but didn't mention it.If his comments are moderated, the day-and-a-half would be the right time frame. If not, you are probably right.
You called it ‘the fucking Argument Pyramid’.I called it "The Argument Pyramid" as a bit and that's the name they remembered instead of Hierarchy of Disagreement![]()

Both names are apt. I haven’t read the story, but the comment immediately made me thought about the Graham’s hierarchy.I called it "The Argument Pyramid" as a bit and that's the name they remembered instead of Hierarchy of Disagreement![]()
Rumor has it that an LW commenter has once reached as far as level four. You called it ‘the fucking Argument Pyramid’.
(Context for others - the plot in question included an estranged couple’s daughter sketching out Graham’s Hierarchy of Disagreement on a restaurant tablecloth in the middle of a LW story, as part of our campaign to turn smut into a force for good)

I will say that, although a few of the zillions of comments on this story have been odious (the wife had an abortion, and apparently some readers find that triggering - who knew?), we haven’t had to delete any. Chalking it up as a win for civility!Rumor has it that an LW commenter has once reached as far as level four.
Once.
My experience agrees with yours. My lone LW story did not get particularly worse comments than other categories. My story had other issues that they were eager to point out, but that is just being engaged.I will say that, although a few of the zillions of comments on this story have been odious (the wife had an abortion, and apparently some readers find that triggering - who knew?), we haven’t had to delete any. My impression of LW now that Acting dragged me into it kicking and screaming is that the audience breaks down roughly:My experience agrees with yours. My impression of LW now that Acting dragged me into it kicking and screaming is that the audience breaks down roughly:
- 70% similar to commenters in any other category, friendly and supportive, if not highly detailed in their feedback.
- 20% incredibly engaged, analytical readers who are deeply invested in character motivations and accuracy of detail, and will take a lot of time and effort to tell you their opinion on those things.
- 10% just the worst people you've ever met in your life
Maybe a decent microcosm for the whole human race, then?My impression of LW now that Acting dragged me into it kicking and screaming is that the audience breaks down roughly:

I haven't sat down and done a qualitative analysis of all the comments we got, but at some point I might!Wow. That seems very optimistic.![]()
My experience was closer to swapping the percentages on those first two categories. And even fewer in the last.My impression of LW now that Acting dragged me into it kicking and screaming is that the audience breaks down roughly:

That's actually a lower percentage than I encounter on a daily basis here in America's Taint.
