Yeah no shade at all if its your thing but the T/I kink is not for me. Like, bucket of cold water, not my thing. Even the "daddy" kink is pushing it, for me.

Two glasses of wine chased by a beer ( never a good idea to drink beer on top of wine, but that’s another issue) and then two fingers of bourbon? That’s a hefty amount of alcohol for anyone, much less a woman. No wonder it ended up like it did.

I mean, the commenter is correct: it is an amount of alcohol that would cause rather severe intoxication in a normal-sized woman.

Not in my experience. I sat with a group of regular sized friends just this friday where each of them had around 3-4 glasses of wine with dinner followed by a dessert cocktail. There was no severe intoxication. A nice buzz was had by all (sans hands in panties). I don't know where the commenter is from but could this be a US vs. Nordics cultural difference?
(For reference, in the story the alcohol is consumed over a period of a few hours with and after a full meal.)

Come to think of it, that's probably the case. Alcohol tolerance varies a lot by region, and of course individual variation also plays a role. There's a reason why the formulas to calculate how one's body metabolizes ethanol and when it's "safe" to drive after consumption are practically its own separate area of math

Speaking from an American perspective, 3 or 4 glasses of wine over a long dinner doesn't feel excessive. If you were a particularly small person and had a low tolerance you'd probably feel a little buzzed, but I wouldn't expect someone to be sloppy drunk after that.

A normal wine serving in the US is about 5 oz (150ml) you get 5 glasses from a standard 750ml bottle.

Good point. Usually the rule of thumb over here is 6 glasses to a bottle, so 125 ml. There's no legal definition of a glass of wine served though, so you might get 125 at a bar and 150 at a restaurant, or just what the waiter feels like at the moment.

Why are both characters written like women, and all their dialogue sounds like two women talking?

I have no idea what this means. One of them I suppose sounds like a woman and is written like a woman because she is one, and the other character I guess likes to cook and is an available shoulder to cry on...? In a way, it's kind of a compliment; I worried that I couldn't convincingly write female characters. Apparently the problem is that I can't write male characters.

Susie rushed in excitedly, her face flushed, her blue eyes dancing with joy. In her hand she brandished a test strip.

She sucked in her breath. His single-minded focus was, after all, why she was so drawn to him. And when his mind was on her, she felt all the love that he could never express in words, bonded into his smouldering gaze. She could wait.

“Five minutes? Five hours?”

Finally, he turned to look at her, once again struggling to understand her lack of knowledge.

“It’s Test Cricket, Susie. Five days.”
