Conquered by the Knight

Atara looked up with anger. She sensed danger but let out a growel and tried to struggle to make herself comfortalble.

Why was this happening? She didn't understand their language yet, it was all a blur. No one had taught her. They never cared to teach her. To them she wasn't worthy of it.

At the castle they all used to laugh at her when she tried to get at the scraps of food the had thrown just out of reach

Dark Knight

Watching the girl dart outside, the Dark Kngith syas calmly "Please excuse me Lady Elizabeth." and steps outside. He see's Raven Ontop of Atara, and says to her, "Raven! You can play wiht your toy later... maybe i'll join you,," He says with a girn under his helmat, "But untill then, lock her up somewhere, and Take your men, and find out where that scumbag of a Ruler, ahs gone..."

Elizabeth

The Lady snarled at the Dark Knight.
"I don't know where my brother is, you imbecile! Do you really think I care?" She asked increduously.

Her eyes strayed and her voice faded as she watched men leading some sort of creature across the feild. One of her brother's keeps she imagined. But my God, she thought, look at her condition! Anger filtrated her body and she slowly lifted the hem of her gown. Her eyes glowed with fury at the treatment of herself and the keep being dragged away from the castle. She reached down to the jeweled dagger strapped to her hip, the tip nestled between the top of her ass. She looked over at Kalindor, a small smile on her face, but she lunged for the Dark Knight.

OOC: Welcome all! Thanks for playing.

Kalindor

OOC: I saw your picture in the authors hangout Myst. So your beautiful as well as talented..? :)

IC:
His sword streaked from its sheath in an arc of steel, ending the life of a guard who had been intent on seeing that the Lady Elizabeths strike fell short. Kalindor parried another strike almost effortly, the guards blade cut in half from the force of Kalindors block. He wrapped an arm around Elizabeths waist as he pulled her back out of the path of the Dark Knights own sword, in retalition to the dagger that stuck from his back. The wound would only slow the Dark Knight down, and it would heal quickly with the help of Dark magics. Kalindor set the Lady down, motioning to his black horse whose reins were tied to a tree. As she made her way to the horse, Kalindor parried another strike from the Dark Knights blade..."Traitor!" the Knight yelled as he pulled his sword back for another attack..."How can I be a traitor when my loyalty was never yours?" Kalindor ducked below a slash, and slashed out at the Knight's leg, denting the heavy armor. This, along with the dagger in his back, gave Kalindor enough time to get to his horse. He climbed into the saddle, ducking low to avoid the bolts from the remaining guards crossbows. He sped off past the wagons, almost running down a few who got in his path...

The warrior quickly threw me into a metal cage in the back of the wagon and ties my leash to the top of it, just in case.

Tears of humiliation run down my face. what has happened to me and where am I going. The one name I know I cry out "Elizabeth"

There had been times where she had been good to me. Even letting me clean her plate next to the table.

The trers flow faster as the warrior, Raven as I have heard others call her, wipes the tears from my face

The Alpha of thier pack reaches in to grab me and touch me. He grabs my hair and pulls me to the side of the cage. He says something but I'm not sure what. Reaching he pinches my nipple and I stike back trying to scratch and bite. This causes him to reaslese me harshly and laugh heartilly

Where ever we end up, I don't want to be near him very often

OOC: Talon, for you, my sweet:
http://communities.msn.com/KaydiasKitchenette

IC: Elizabeth hung onto Kalindor as the mighty beast they rode fled into the night, into the woods, away from the camp and cries. She turned to look back and saw the men putting the girl in a cage. Elizabeth whimpered, knowing that she would come back for the girl, that she would find her, but for now their lives were endangered, and they were riding deep into the forest, the Dark Knight too involved in battle with a gaurd to give chase. Lady Elizabeth sighed... she hated the cruel man. She hated her brother. She hated it all, but now she was fleeing from it all, and this mysterious Knight she clung to was the one who saved her.

Romulus

OOC: Romulus 6'4 225 lbs
Blonde hair Blue eyes

The king's champion, Romulus is the greatest warrior of the kingdom. His skill with the sword, as well as his ability as a horseman, are legendary.

Despite this, he finds himself frustrated by his fame. The king often uses him as some kind of trophy, parading him around the farthest corners of the country. Although it helps to impress the commoners, it also leaves Romulus unable to properly defend the castle against any invaders - like Black Knights and such!

His personality is more of a Lancelot than a Galahad. Although honorable and just, he sometimes gives in to the fires that burn within.

IC: Pushing his horse for all it was worth, Romulus thundered across the countryside. Leading an elite unit of the King's best knights, he cursed the lousy timing. In a show of political oneupmanship, he had been sent to the border to be shown off before an ambassador from the Northern lands. It had worked; a trade agreement had been signed. But what of the price?

"Damn it!" he muttered. "I should have been there!"

The castle itself had been breached, the Lady Elizabeth taken. Dozens of guards, some little more than boys, butchered without mercy.

There was going to be Hell to pay, and he wasn't going to be the only one paying it.

Kalindor

OOC: If that was indeed a real page with a picture on it, it seems either a) My computer is messing up(which is not all that unlikely) or b) something is wrong with the site, for alas...when I click on it I have a connection refused error message :(

IC:
He felt the wind whipping his hair back as his trusty steed carefully wove through the trees, the occasional outstrecthed branch slapping against his armor. He felt as if he should say something...about how he expected to be well paid...but he couldn't, and he didn't really need to be.
Kalindor drove the horse nearly to exhaustion, putting as much space between them and the Knights army as possible. They stopped near a small lake, the crystal clear water reflecting the light of the rising moon. He dismounted and tied the horse to a fallen branch near the waters edge, so it could drink its fill and rest. From the saddle bags he retrieved a clean pair of breeches and a tunic...which would be too big for the lady, but better than a wet, torn gown. He motioned to the water..."You can wash up if you like...I have little more than trail rations for food...and I think it wise that we do not have a fire this night."

OOC: Talon, you've got mail.

IC: Elizabeth's head was thick with adrenaline, she couldn't feel the cold yet, but she shivered anyway, trembling from the night's awful ventures. She slipped off of the horse.

"There's an old cottage on the other side of the lake." She mumbled, her teeth starting to chatter.

Kalindor

OOC: *cringe* I had the wrong email address listed...but its fixed now...so if you would be so kind as to try that one more time, I would be indebted to you :)

IC:
Kalindor nodded..."Well I suppose since your of high station in these parts...they won't mind us borrowing it?"
He moved off ahead of her, his longsword out and held before him, his eyes searching the forest.

OOC: Okay, I tried again.

IC: Elizabeth lead the way around the lake, explaining that the cottage was abandoned, but still had blankets and a cot. She suddenly thought about sharing the cot with Kalindor and felt warmth creeping up her stomach. They reached a small clearing where a run-down cottage was built. She pushed the door open and looked around in the dusk.

Kalindor

OOC: Roger on the email Myst...and Damn...just damn :)

IC:
Kalindor tied his horse outside, and takeing his saddle and bags, moved into the house after the lady. He shut the door, and looked around, the faint moonlight illuminating the inside of the cottage. He dropped the saddle and bags by the door, and fishing his flint and steel out, he managed to light a small fire to light candles with.
He looked around again as he warily sat on an old stool. "We should try and rest...leave by morning, and hopefully run into some of your brothers men, and avoid any contact with the 'Knights army...for he won't be too happy..." He began to unbuckle his way out of his armor, pulling off odd pieces and setting them off to the side...

Romulus

"Where is he?"

Romulus strode through the darkened hallways of the castle, searching for the snivelling little buffoon whose stupidity had lost the Lady Elizabeth - as well as a slave girl, Atara. He had never met her, but he had heard of the strange creature that had been taken from the woods. In his endless days of "representing" the King, he hadn't had the opportunity to meet her.

Elizabeth. The thought of her in the clutches of the Dark Knight refueled the fires that burned within. Who knew what they could be capable of? And Atara... if they were willing to molest the Lady Elizabeth, what would become of the girl?

"Where is he, gods damn it?" The citizens scurried out of the knight's way, seeing the darkness in his expression. At the same time, Romulus could feel their relief.

Romulus was here! Romulus would set things right! Praise Romulus!

Except he hadn't been here when it had really mattered. And the shame of it tasted bitter, like bile.

Sir Aiden of Dragongate

Aiden stood silently in the muddy courtyard, surveying the scene of carnage around him. The rain continued, plastering his long brown hair to his young face. He brushed it aside and looked on, picking out the few bodies of the Black Knight's men amongst the dead and dying castle guards. That black-hearted fiend would pay for this.

He still could not believe it. Barely a week had past since he'd he been granted membership to the King's elite order of knights, the youngest ever to receive such an honor. This butchery was not what they'd expected when they'd left the barracks on this supposed show of the King's strength. Instead they'd come upon a scene of devastation, too late to intevene. The Lady Elizabeth had been taken, her guards overwhelmingly defeated.

He finally spurred himself into action, helping two of the castle maids move a wounded guard inside from the rain. He tried to calm his anger by assisting wherever he could, as he waited for Romulus to return and issue them their orders.

OOC: I'm going to bed now, so if the knights leave, just have me go with them.

Romulus

The heavy oak doors stood shut, at the orders of the King himself. No doubt, he and his advisors scurried about within, wringing their hands at the loss of Lady Elizabeth. Perhaps they spared a moment to think of the girl Atara, or the helpless guards who had died trying to defend their beloved lady.

Romulus slammed his fist against the dark wood, the iron gauntlet leaving deep impressions in its surface. The doors shuddered, but it would take more than brute force to break it down. Some sort of enchantment held it in place, no doubt.

"The King is indisposed." A voice, old and worn, came from behind him. Turning, Romulus saw one of the royal viziers approaching. His long robes brushed across the stone floor as he stepped torward the King's champion. Although he wore a stern expression, there was fear in his eyes. For all his wisdom, he had been powerless against the Dark Knight. He was no more threatening to Sir Romulus of Pergamos.

"I'm sure he is," Romulus spat. "Does he even know why the Lady was taken?"

The vizier shook his head slightly. It pained him to admit their ignorance. Perhaps more than the loss of Elizabeth herself, the loss of their dignity was a harsh blow. But where the lords and ladies had fallen aside, the knights and warriors would rise. If Elizabeth lived, they would save her.

Romulus swore it.

Waking thinking in her mind it was just a dream she realized the harsh reality of what had happened.
She had been removed from her cage and tied up on the ground. The knights men had permission to do as they pleased with her.All night long the men took turns fucking her in whatever way they wanted. she tried to fight, but it was no use. Evey time she did try she would be whiped. She ended up giving in.

Waking up she realized she smelled like human flesh and struggled to get up and clean herself, realizing she was still tied up

Romulus

Romulus stepped into the courtyard, getting his first good look at the carnage. The ground was wet and slick with the blood and gore of dozens of fallen guards; the stench was overwhelming. He had been in battles before, and had seen the horrors of war, but this had been nothing but a massacre.

As he surveyed the ruined court, Romulus saw his fellow knights assisting. One of them, Aiden of Dragongate, was little more than a boy himself. He was too young to be exposed to such horror, but as a knight of the crown it was his responsibility.

Romulus found one of the few remaining guards and waved him over. The guard saluted reflexively, which he dismissed with a frown.

"What is the situation?" Romulus said quietly.

"'Twas the Dark Knight, my lord," he said. His eyes were tired and hollow. He had seen a lot of his men slaughtered, and wasn't dealing well. "He and his cravenous underlings."

"Who?" His voice was firmer this time. The guard flinched, as if Romulus had struck him.

"Raven, the pale, his lieutenant. She cut through them like..." He choked at the memory.

Raven. Romulus knew of her. Her skill in combat was frightening; truly a dangerous foe for any warrior. And her skill was exceeded only by her thirst for carnage.

"Anyone else?"

"Aye. Another... called 'The Slayer'."

Kalindor. A mercenary. The King had made use of him on occasion, over numerous protests. A rogue who sold his loyalty to the highest bidder.

"Very well, guard. My thanks."

He turned to leave, then hesitated. "You are going after them, my lord?"

Romulus nodded. "I'll chase them to the end of the world, and I'll see them burn for this. That I swear."

Hakeldama

Following the knight and the Lady Elizabeth, he slowly gains ground on them and watches as they enter a cabin. Waiting for them to be a sleep. I slowly make my way over to the cabin and peer into the window. As to see what awaits. With a look up into the night sky to send his feathered friend off to find out where the Dark Knight has gone to.

Moving back to his horse, and pulling out the net and some rope. Well speaking to myself "Now how much o you think you two are worth together? Well, I guess the only way to find out is to take you in and let the bidding take place. Who wants you more daddy or the Knight?"

Moving slowly back to the door with a ear placed against it. Listening to what is happening. Peparing for the capture.

OOC: Okay I am out of here for a bit... but if you guys come out the door... just have me move or a scufle break out... thanks...

Kalindor

Sleep doesn't come easy to one who's see carnage such as Kalindor has...and he lay with his back against the wall, his sword in its sheath propped up against the wall beside him. He watched the Lady Elizabeth sleep, imagining from the looks of her that she was having some sort of nightmare, and he really didn't blame her given the situation. Once the moon was fully overhead, in its full glory this night...he heard someone approaching. If not for the occasional snap of a twig only trained ears would catch, the man outside would have gone unnoticed. He heard the man whispering to himself, but as to what he was saying Kalindor couldn't tell. He gathered it was either a scout of the Dark Knight, or a Bounty Hunter type who had seen them pass through the woods...thinking the last was the most probable. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips...others had tried to capture him in the past, for the occasional crime some Kingdom accused him of. His freedom told the story...none had been successful as of yet. But the man outside was holding all the Aces, he had an advantage over Kalindor. For one, Kalindor had Elizabeth there with him to look after, and Kalindor couldn't move without alerting the man that he was awake. Slowly...so slowly he wasn't sure that he was infact moving, he sat his swords scabbard across his lap, and slowly pulled the blade from its home. He was sure the man had a net or crossbow ready outside the door...so Kalindor would have one chance. If it was a crossbow he had a decent chance, but a net would use a mans strength against him, getting him entangled further the more and more he fought. He weighed his options...He could go through the door, and almost certainly fall into a trap that the man had waiting. Or, he could dive through the window. The window was small, but unarmored and unencumbered, Kalindor figured that would be his best bet. Slowly sliding up the wall, holding his sword out infront of him, he took one last look at Elizabeth. He got as much of a start as possible, about 4 steps, before diving for the window. His arms out infront of him, the old, frail glass shattered easily, but it was a tight fit as he scraped his shoulders against the window frame.
He tumbled out into the night, rolling as he hit the ground and sitting up into a crouch as he raised his sword. He saw the startled man, holding a net, standing just off to the side of the door. The man tossed the net at Kalindor, but the heavy rope net didn't move far, and Kalindor rolled out of the way. But the distraction had given the man enough time to pull his own sword free and stand ready. The mans sword had the mark of the Order of Paladins on it...was he some sort of zealot trying to kill him for consorting with the likes of the Dark Knight? No matter, they train the Paladins well at the Order, and they supposedly have 'God' behind them. Kalindor sneered, however well trained this man was, Kalindor was unarmored and rested...but he still felt the tire of battle from the previous day. No matter, this man would feel a blade pass through his breastplate if he wasn't careful..."Listen...Paladin...I have no quarrel with you...if you leave now...I will let you live." Kalindor stood up out of the crouch, sword held level with his shoulder, his cool confidence radiating like an aura...
He could see the mans eyes, and Kalindor knew he wouldn't leave. No matter...if he wouldn't leave, Kalindor would face him...but he considered letting the man live. He had been a 'Rookie' once...and might have tried a stunt like this. Either way, he had no time left to think, for the man charged. Steel met steel under the moonlight, and sparks flew as the edges of thier weapons grinded against each other. Kalindor planted his right foot forward, and pushed with all his might, forcing the man off-balance. Stumbling back, the man still managed to parry a blow that would have cut open his breastplate. Kalindor forced the offensive, sword darting back and forth, keeping the man on his toes. Kalindor's sword met flesh, cutting small, shallow wounds that were meant to anger the man and push him off guard. The two men moved back and forth, in the sort of deadly dance that fighting men practice. Kalindor pressed the offensive once again, knocking the mans sword away...and instead of decapitating him...like he should have, he slammed the pommel of his sword into the mans temple, hard enough to render him unconcious. The man fell to the forest floor like a felled tree. Kalindor picked up the mans sword and tossed it away into the forest. He looked down at the slumbering man..."You will awaken with a bit of an ache...but there is no dishonor in losing to a greater foe. Next time we meet...I may not be in such a mood..." He moved into the cabin to ready his things...
Again they rode through the forest, occasionaly doubleing back and switching trails to hide thier path. Kalindor held tight to the reins, and the Lady Elizabeth, slumbering again now, her head resting on his shoulder...had her arms about his waist. Kalindor weighed thier options...and hoped somehow that the Ladys' Brother would show himself...

OOC: Whew, long post. Okay, sorry for taking liberty with characters, but you said go ahead and post a skirmish, and thats my character :)

Romulus

Once again he was leading the charge. With a newfound resolve, the knights of the crown began the pursuit of the villains who had ravaged our home. Each had sworn an oath to bring them to justice... or die trying.

Romulus had no intentions of dying. If he did, however, he wouldn't be alone. The Dark Knight and his cohorts would lie dead at his feet before Romulus fell. That much was certain.

They made their way across the countryside, tracking the Dark Knight's movements as they pushed through the wilderness. They were moving quickly, but they had prisoners. And this gave Romulus the edge. Every second they spent terrorizing Elizabeth (he shuddered at what might be happening to her) was another second the knights gained on them.

His blade seemed to sing. They were getting closer; it wouldn't be today. But it would be soon. Then he would take sword in hand and end this travesty.

Kalindor

Kalindor put a hand to the dagger at his belt, the sight of the two men ahead of them rather an unwelcome one. From the looks of thier armor and the colors they wore, they were infact the Lady Elizabeths Brothers men, more than likely the sentries for thier camp. Kalindor noted that they were also new, for they made much noise and paid little
attention to thier surroundings. Thier mistake.
Kalindor had little trouble disposing of them, but he only rendered them unconcious, for although his intentions were good, if the guard were to raise an alert he would likely be filled with arrows before making it into the camp. He dusted off his hands and climbed back into the saddle. His black horse stepped carefully through the fallen branches and leaves of the forest floor as they made thier way through. Soon they came to a small clearing, several large tents and cookfires set up for the Kings men. Kalindor dismounted, leading his horse into the camp. Sitting near one of the large fires was a man in Plate Mail, and by the looks of him, a knight of some importance. Sure enough, it was the Kings captain...Romulus. A few of the men noticed Kalindor and sat up, reaching for thier swords or thier pikes. Kalindor let his sword free from its resting place, pushing the tip into the earth. He studied Romulus, whose hand was on his weapon as well. "I come in peace...and I bring the LAdy Elizabeth, unmolested and unhurt. But if you try anything against me...this could quickly turn dangerous..." He still stood a good distance away from the majority of the men, the Lady Elizabeth in the saddle.

Romulus

Romulus smiled at the mercenary. His own sword slid from its scabbard.

"It could turn dangerous, indeed. You dare much to challenge me. There's courage in it, no doubting that." Romulus glanced over Kalindor's shoulder at the lady. "Rest assured, however, that I will send you screaming to Hell if the Lady is harmed in any way."

Kalindor seemed prepared to fight, which would do nothing but leave him dead. Perhaps he realized this, for he returned his sword to his side.

"Peace. The lady is yours."

Romulus nodded, also sheathing his sword. Besides, there were a dozen arrows notched and ready to pierce the mercenary's heart if he made any threatening moves. He had slipped past the guards, somehow, but he hadn't escaped the archers.

A pair of Romulus' men helped the Lady Elizabeth down from the horse, and she stepped toward the campfire. She glanced at Kalindor, and there was something in that glance. Although her face remained impassive, Romulus could see the gleam in her eyes.

"Are you well, milady?" he asked. She turned to him, her expression as dark and cold as the night itself.

"Do you ask on behalf of my beloved King?" Her voice pierced the night, and several of the men shifted uncomfortably.

"I ask on behalf of the loyal citizens of our land. What the King has to say is something I do not know."

His eyes shifted back to Kalindor. He was smiling again. There was more to this than they were led to believe.

"You have my thanks, mercenary. However, something is amiss here."

Romulus took a step closer. "Would you care to explain?"

Kalindor

He grinned...knowing that the time was not right for a fight...for he was outmanned by at least 20 to 1. However he got the name 'Slayer' is irrelevent...he wasn't a god. Sure...he might have taken a few of them, but only a fool plays the odds as such, and however deadly Kalindor was with the sword, he wanted to live to continue to practice them.
"As you would know...I am...shall we say...a lover of neutrality?...I don't favor either side. If things go as they continue to...the Dark Knight will own this land and all others. Therefore...Evil will reign. For the sake of my reputation at the least...I can't let that happen. And it seemed a shame to let a pretty maiden such as that be fouled by the likes of the Dark Knight. You need me Captain...no matter how much it disgusts you to admit it. I have knowledge of the Dark Knights army that is invaluable...not to mention my fighting skills."

Kalindor

OOC: Well, his back was turned to her. Along with other things, Romulus is the 'Good' Kings warrior, and we are not at the cabin anymore.
