OTOH, if you need to drive daily (and I do), a small-engined car will get you along the freeway at the same speed as everyone else. So will an electric car, provided you don't need to refuel twice in the same day.People living in dense urban settings already have a smaller carbon footprint than people living out in the middle of nowhere.
The biggest thing you can do to reduce your carbon footprint is stop driving. If you live somewhere where you need to drive daily, hanging your laundry out to dry is pointless.
The only people impressed by a truck are the guys at the gun range. Nobody else gives a fuck. Really.
