Cozy Comparatively Catatonic Chat 🐈😻

I'm off... today, not two weeks. lol Lots of errands/appointments. Not work, but not necessarily fun either. 🫤
Want to swap. I am trying to do nothing but finding it very difficult. I need errands and appointments 😁

Actually, this brings me to a thing (a thought you may say). A question of sorts to the other British folk that may be around (might not be many in this thread because they see the OP has the word “France” in their name and think “well fuck, there will be a strike of some sort in there soon enough”) 😁

So the question, do you do “errands” for yourself? As a child, neighbours would ask me to run an errand for them such as popping to the shop or dropping some cake round to number 54 but we never did errands for ourselves. I have never known anybody say they are running errands and it not be for another person. Myself, and people I know will just say they need to do some stuff in town. They don’t use the word errands to describe what they are doing for themselves.

Obviously, I don’t know every British person and it may be used widely in places I have never been to or spent much time in. Do you, or people you know use the word “errands” when they have jobs to do for themselves?

I, obviously, am not British, but we always use that term in the Midwest where I grew up and in the Deep South , where I live now for doing things for ourselves and others.

I'm also not British, but I do love fish & chips, so... close enough.

Same as with fsa, "errand" is basically a term I use to generalize anything for which I have to leave the house, (for myself or others,) outside of entertainment, dining, and probably some other things I can't think of.

To expand upon my previous answer, there is a difference between errands and chores, with errands as described above, and chores being tasks at home.

Unless somebody is offering to give me multiple orgasms. I might move a little for that 😁
So, to put into context, me coming to your house to deliver your "needs" would be an errand on my part.

When I have to take care of myself at home, it's a chore.

😂😂😂

Do you put salt and vinegar on your fish and chips?

Again we have these differences. You coming to my house to deliver my needs would be a fucking pleasure but when I have to take care of it myself at home, that is a military operation (I can be a right fussy fucker at times) 😁

Shocking! I recently found somebody who didn’t put it on. It is a shame really because they are a lovely person otherwise. This is the only red flag I have got from them 🧐

Pitchforks at the ready for you @_Ritch_
I’m not saying that person doesn’t have their own merits, but they may be off of the “share a meal with them” list. I get upset if the waiter doesn’t drop off the bottle of vinegar when giving me the fish and chips

My ancestors are insulted at the French slander. 😂

I run errands for myself and others. 😃

Don't worry @_Ritch_, I don't use vinegar anymore either. I used to before I worked at a fish & chips place here. Now I can't stand the smell. 😃

I love the smell. I walk past the chip shops here and take a great big whiff of it in.

I did stop having vinegar in my teens because my sister told me it would dry my blood out!

I am now craving fish, chips and mushy peas with lashings of salt and vinegar

I’ve only put salt and vinegar on fish n chips a couple times… am I missing something?

Also … probably can’t do it now stupid ulcer
