Cruz slightly less likeable than Hillary?

But everyone else is going with that and I don't want to be hoist on the same petard as everyone else is.

Well if you come from the left, you have been lied to for decades. It is a hoisting mechanism which pretends to lift you but actually is a petard which is now exploding. The attention showered on Donald Trump has effectively backfired on the MSM. The entertainment value, the circus atmosphere has left MSM wearing the floppy feet in this circus. So put on your red nose and join the circus. There's a sucker born every minute and the petard is about to blow.

Absolutely right; the right has tried lying to me for years. But they aren't too clever about it and I've been able to see through them. ;)

And you're not too bright if you think we've heard the last of Trump or that his shenanigans have hurt the media one iota. You know, you haven't been too bright all along--a pretty shallow thinker, as a matter of fact. I think you must have been hoist on the right's petard. Or maybe you should learn a new phrase to "dazzle" us with. Surely Fox News has some they can lend to you.

Did you miss where he lost round 1? It looks to me like the jig is fully operational if terribly late to the goddamn party.

Ah, but Cruz has given him the opening to claim he didn't lose--that Cruz' cushion was stolen from Carson, which Trump will say is an old Canadian trick, and he'll follow up with inheriting Carson's strength when Carson, out of pique at Cruz, does decided to stay in Florida trying on new clothes and cashing his book royalties rather than going on with the race that he only entered because simply everyone told him he'd make a terrific president.

The jig is operational? Oooooooh Iowa really frightens us!!!!! Shivering........oooooooh oooooooh oooooooh......in my best Randle P McMurphy voice. The jig is up and you will learn of it in the coming months. You and your Nurse Ratched know it all lefties are in for a little wake up call. More references to come for all of you saggy balled historians.

If Mr McMurphy doesn't want to take his medication orally, I'm sure we can arrange that he can have it some other way.

This is Nurse Ratched quote but might as well be Hillary discussing our country. The similarities between Hillary and Nurse Ratched are really quite remarkable.

I would take exception to your time reference. I know there was a time women were little more than chattel, but that ended long before the 60's. I grew up in the 1950's, and this is from my personal observation.

I was born after WWII. I read how the women were treated after the war ended. They were expected to return to their homes to take care of their kids with not even a thank you for their sacrifices for their country. Every law that was ever passed by any legislature prior to the 70s that delt with rape or abuse was written by men for men and against women.

Well, I was born two years before Pearl Harbor, and I personally observed that many married women, including my own mother, held jobs. Female veterans, none of whom were drafted, had the same rights as male veterans.

Did you ever hear of the Mann Act? That was passed by the US Congress in the 19th Century, and was intended to combat sexual slavery.

Neurologist explains why it’s hard to look at Ted Cruz’s creepy ‘unsettling’ face

The answer as to why so many people dislike the Texas Republican instinctively is one the intrigued Dr. Richard E. Cytowic, a professor of neurology at George Washington University.

Writing in Psychology Today, Cytowic noted that Cruz’s “atypical expressions” left him “uneasy,” and that he was not alone among people who have watched Cruz up-close and from afar.

“Note how many colleagues and former associates ‘loathe’ him. A Bush alumnus told the New York Times’ Frank Bruni, ‘Why do people take such an instant dislike to Ted Cruz? It just saves time.’ Former Senate Majority leader Bob Dole says, ‘Nobody likes him,’ while Rep. Peter King sees ‘malice.'” Cytowic wrote. “According to The Washington Post, screenwriter Craig Mazin, Cruz’s former Princeton roommate, has called him a ‘huge asshole,’ and ‘creepy.’ He’s Tweeted, ‘Getting emails blaming me for not smothering Ted Cruz in his sleep in 1988.’ The distaste for Cruz even extends beyond the US: Germans say Backpfeifengesicht, meaning a face in need of a good punch.”

People loath Ted Cruz on sight, then they hear him spout unbearable bullshit.

I know, I know, you think her jig is up and she's hoist up there on her own petard. I can wait and see after Super Tuesday--and can remember your prognostications as well as you can. ;)

Why pilot, isn't it past your bedtime? Love you, high flying bastard that you are. Even if.you are a Quisling Democrat.

I thought you didn't like name calling. I'll probably be up for three and a half more hours, as usual--not that that has anything to do with anything other than your lame backbiting. Will you still be up then? If so, that's fine, I don't care. Funny that you're interested in the hours that I keep.

Go Fuck yourself you know it all SOB. Go ask Vulvarito of NY about her disparate impact pardons of "minor crimes". Remember you're all a bunch of Quislings and the jig is up. Boooom goes the petard. Sleep well.

Sorry, you're boring, RU, and have a very limited vocabulary (and brain space, it seems).

Just checking in, RU. It's 1:00 a.m. here and I'm still awake and going strong. Composing a letter to my publisher in Spain at the moment and still have some writing and reviewing to do before going to bed. (The commentary on the Democratic debate tonight is on TV in the background.)

And you. Still got your eyes open there?

2:00 a.m. my time and back to check in again, RU. You tucked in all comfy in bed? Think I'll do some reviewing of a forthcoming e-book and read some in Bill Bryson's The Road to Little Dribbling before turning in. Sleep tight.

Well, RU, it's 3:20 a.m. here and I believe I'll toddle off to bed. Since you were so derisive about how late I could stay up writing and reading, I guess that means you're still up being productive by researching the meaning of the phrases you like to misuse, broadening your vocabulary, and learning a bit about the American political process. Night-night.

To get this thread back on topic.

There are a lot of people less likable than Hillary. Many are Rethuglicans and bible abusers.

being from texas, i can honestly say that cruz combines all the warmth and ethics of a used car salesman at a scrapiron lot with the oleaginous ick factor of a televangelist like joel 'gimme your money' osteen. he is universally despised by those who have had to work with him and only admired by those not bright enough to understand that to govern a nation means compromises so everyone has a place. and you might also check the fact that he is a stooge for corporate interests including the financial badboys of wall street. he IS highly intelligent but he also always thinks he is the brightest motherfucker in the room. he also doesn't understand diplomacy like many of the far right. witness his pronouncements about treaties and agreements where he refuses to concede that, to gain an agreement, we sometimes have to actually let the other guy HAVE something and not just demand they sign. now you can add in that evangelical selfrighteousness that presupposes everyone has to live by HIS view of the world and HIS interpretation of the bible and you can well see that, all in all, he would be a TERRIBLE choice for the oval office.
