Curse of the Fallen Quest: Ring Bearer's Trilogy

Kat

The smile leaves my face at AB's obvious discomfort and chargrin. When she stands and mumbles an excuse just before walking out I watch silently as she leaves before turning to christian. I look directly at him hearing the doubts, worries, and proclomations that come off him in waves, yet smiling as he physically says nothing. "There is trouble in that one...." I pause a moment looking towards the room AB has just run off too...."She does genuinely want to help though I feel, beneath the confusion and self loathing is a kind heart." My eyes again meet his a deep emerald green, Catlike in detail and clarity and I smile slightly at his sudden start when he matches my gaze. "I sense turmoil in you as well,.....BE aware of your feelings and thoughts>" I glance at Ray out of the corner of my eye then back to Chrisitian....."You never know what they are telling other people and that can make a big difference in a battle." My brogue thickens as memories of Joseph and Lance travel though my head until I am once again in control and looking up at christian smile slightly.

Christian

I smile at Kat, trying to show her her comments are appreciated.
"I will bear your words in mind, but when battle comes...." I will be ready, unyielding I intended to say, but I trailed off instead, not certain that that would be the case. It always had been, but things had changed hadn't they?
I toyed with the ring on my finger, knowing the vampire before me could read my thoughts, or at least sense my feelings.
I glanced to Ray.
"Will you and I be doing most of the killing, Ray?" I sensed death ahead, almost smelled it in that way Isabelle had told me was uncommon for ones so young. Suitably, it didn't commonly occur in my case. She had a gift for it, a way of almost forseeing when death would occur, though only in vague ways, the notice of death but not of whose death.
She'd started at the dinner table the night before Kayla had been killed, and when I saw her, a chill had run up my spine.
"Isabelle?" I'd asked.
She'd smiled, but in a disturbed way. "Just a wave of...an od sense of what is to come."
I'd left it at that, but not forgotten, at least not until the gunshot had erupted from the building above us and the battle that Kayla had died in had begun.
And who was it that killed her? I wondered. I still had no answers. And Isabelle had offered none, though she seemed to know something.
"When the time comes, I will do my best," I stated, matter-of-factly. "I just hope this Aria is in good hands in the meantime, and that we can be of assistance. A.B. seems of an odd breed, but I sense she has some place here. My place is the one I doubt thus far..."

Joseph

He turned his head, using his nose to find his way. Vladamir's scent was old. But with the loss of his sight, his already powerful sense of smell was strong enough to pick up the fading remains of his trail. He had to be careful. He could pick up traces of vampires searching for someone.

It was a female vampire and a human, judging my the few words he'd been able to pick up. Luckily, as he moved closer to Mongrel's, the searchers moved farther away. He carefully picked his way over to the compound, searching for Vlad's scent, now lost in the blood and vampires everywhere. He could smell human blood, and found it again, along with the telltale signs of a car.

And mixed with it was a scent that made him stop dead.

It's said that the sense of smell is tied most tightly to memories. Joseph melted back, away from the manor of Mongrel. She was alive? How? He'd blacked out before he could tell if she'd actually been killed, but he'd always believed....

He turned, and began following the trail. He probably wouldn't get much farther than Mongrel's boys, but he had a good idea of what to do once he got to the end of the tracks he could follow.

Ooc: So close and yet so far away. I would have loved to kill Joseph again... maybe next time though.

Mongrel leaned down in the dungeon, as crew members began to clean up what was left of everything. Just below him was a pile of ash, his hand sifting through it, looking for something that he couldn't see.
"Sir," Sebulba gave off a sharp growl, his gun out. Mongrel waved his hand, in order for silence, to continue his pursuit.
"But sir, about the captive."
Mongrel gave the sign of a gun going off, and nothing more. Sebulba smirked, pulling out a nice automatic machine gun with a silver clip, putting it against the temple of the traitor.
"A word of advice Gumo, don't fuck with your elders."
Sebulba emptied the clip.
As the smoke cleared, and the final metallic wash of smoke cleared the now vacan room, Mongrel took a bit of ash on his finger and brought it to his lips. Something familar came to him.
"We have a breech, a man walking up to the compound. We've been watching him for a good ten minutes now."
Mongrel closed his eyes, searching out for the man. Nothing of great power or strength came to him, so he let it go.
"Don't bother, let him continue on their way."
"Yes sir, what about the search?"
"What search?"
"For the woman... and her helper. I put a search underway for them."
Mongrel gave a bit of a laugh, "Then stop you fool. We don't need them anymore. Aria did what I wanted her to do. She's done, she may go in peace."
Sebulba shooed the guard away, turning back to Mongrel as he sat there in utter silence examing Lance's corpse, nothing more than a few inches of ash.
"What do you mean? What was Aria supposed to do?"
"Kill Lance," He let it drip off his tongue as if it was what he ordered for breakfast.
"Why?"
Mongrel held up his hand, an incision in the book, "Because my dear boy, when a ring bearer kills Lance, it causes a sort of loop in his curse, one that can be used to my advantage."
"Why would a ring bearer ever want to kill Lance?"
"Weakness, fragility, stupidity. You name it. It has happened before. I've read the book, part of it contains a biography of Lance himself. It's quite an interesting read."
"What loop do you mean?"
A ring bearer has part of the power of the book. From what I've read, when a ring bearer kills Lance, it is as if the book itself is attacking Lance."
"So, what happens?"
Mongrel sniffed the ash, getting a clearer image in his head now, "Lance becomes weak, and it takes longer for him to regenerate. On average, he can come back within a few hours, but when a ring bearer kills him, it takes days, maybe even a week. During that time, he can altered.
"Altered?"
"Yes, which is why we must work quickly. I need to find him before they do. If I can, then the last page will be mine.
"So, where is he?"
Mongrel brought the ash to his lips once more, "India... somewhere in a medirian forest in Eastern India."
Sebulba nodded, getting out his cellphone to make arrangements.
"You will be mine."

Kat

So this Isabelle had a small gift of prescience.....interesting I thought to myself. Looking up at Christian from under full lashes I sense his uncertainty, the questions going through his mind. My head snaps up a little as he asks Ray if they will be doing most of the killing..then realizing he is probably not used to females as trained as I am I relax again not realizing until that moment that I had been growling lightly. I turn to Ray a small smile on my lips, "Did you hear that Ashke'?......" I pause a moment to give Christian a friendly and very feminine smile. "He wants to know if you guys will be doing all the hard stuff." I gently reach over and place a ringed hand on Christians and closing my eyes chant softly, feeling his indescision as the purple crescent moon on my forhead usually unseen begins to glow I reach out with my mind wrapping him in warmth, gently using my powers to caress him mind to mind then just s suddenly releasing him completely and being right back where I was in my seat befor ehe has had a chance to recover.

Christian

As she drew her hands away, I blinked, looking over at the girl, who'd hardly seemed to have moved at all.
That had happened once before, and not too long ago. Who had done that?
Ah, yes...the old witch had. Kayla and I had come across her in our travels, some time we'd taken in search of my roots. The little "tribe" I'd known as a human seemed to have vanished, but we'd come across the traveling gypsies, and the old woman, oddly, had been, in her nature alone, reason enough for us not to feed from them.
I shook my head. Now wasn't the time to be drifting back, even further into the past. I'd done more than my share of introspection and retrospection in the past days. Now my focus had to be on the now.
I looked from Ray to Kat and realized that I'd misrepresented myself.
"I do apologize, ma'am," I stated. "I donot mean to iumply weakness on the grounds of your gender. Warriors come in many variations, as Kayla and Leona have taught me..." I trailed off, debating explaining who these women were, then deciding it pointless. "I merely meant that it seemed he was ready for battle, and you more the..." I searched for the right words. "manipulative type?"

Kat

I grin a bit at his words.........."There are two sides to every person wingsib." I sit foreward slightly the cresent again appearing on my forehead my eyes changing to a vibrant green, the pupils slitted. My fangs extend and I allow a small measure of the darker half to extend it's claws, my look no longer one of mystery or seduction but that of a warrior. It is only a slight change definately not the one I use when in battle but it allows christian a small measure of understanding. Grining at his expression I speak softly but my voice is no longer the gentle caress it has been, "I have lived through more than you know, and have shed more blood than I care to remember." I glance at Ray seeing a shocked expression on his face as well.........had he forgotten what I used to be? My body, voice, and posture once again return to the indifferent if not interested female. I smile at Christian in a disarming way, allowing a bit of seduction into my voice "But I have found when only out to play you catch more flies with honey, and my nectar seems to be sought after at times."

A.B.

Pacing around the small room, she too wondered what waited for them below? She had searched her cloak and found only her sun glasses and a small switch blade, she was unprepared for this and should had taken the time to get her ass home and readied.
She hoped this Ray had some weapons, other wise she may as well sit her little ass on the jet and wait for them.

She was feeling confined, boxed in again. Whether she liked it or not, she had to get out of that room and face the others again. Before she went stir crazy. She may have lived down in a basement apartment but it was spacious, definately not this small.. Good thing she didnt take up the coffin sleeping thing.. She couldn't do it.

Pulling on her cloak, she moved back into the main cabin and this time sat behind the others talking. Staring out the window at the vast nothing but water below. From her calculations they had less than an hour before they hit land and landed this bird.

Christian

I smiled, wickedly in fact, as she showed part of her more fierce side. I nodded.
Then the door to the bedroom opened and A.B. emerged again, this time seating herself away from us.
I debated inviting her to join us agai, but thought better of it. She most likely wanted time alone, so I left her to herself.
"Perhaps a short nap might be in our best interests," I suggested. I didn't feel like sleeping, but I knew that eventually, time would catch up with me, and I would need my energy. I leaned back in the chair.
"Wake me when he touch down?"

Ray

I don’t even notice Christian getting up and moving to the back to one of the back rooms my mind is to far gon for that memories and thought swirling around in my mind in a confused vortex. I blink as I notes land below I don’t know how long it’s been moving by far bellow but I know that it means that the flight is almost over.

I stand stretching cramped mussels having not moved threw the intyer flight. I then walk up to the cockpit to check on the pilet. I nod as he says that he’s lining up for touch down right now. I smile an egger gleam appearing in my eyes at the thought of the fight that was sherly coming.

I move to the back of the plane glancing at Kat and AB. “Get ready to land.” I say softly as I walk past them. I stop at the doors to the bed rooms. I knock on the one that I her a faint snoring from. "Wake up we’re landing.” I say loudly. I walk back to my set with out waiting to see if he wakes. I sit my hand moving to Kats hand. I squeeze it absently seeking comfort with out realizing it.

I close my eyes concentrating on Aria. “We’re landing now where are you?” I send her the ring on my hand growing worm with my effort strengthening the sending.

Kat

I smile gently genuine softness coming to my eyes as Ray squeezes my hand. Glancing at him i hear him sending his thoughts out to Aria, and after planting a soft kiss at the base of his ear stand to stretch a bit myself. Turning I look to A.B sensing her fear, her uncertainty and walk over to her. Leaning down I reach out to gently touch her hand and get her attention, "I know you have survived much." MY voice is again the gentle carress I know she responds to, "I would not assume anything about the battle that is about to commence other than we should all be prepared." I sigh a bit again feeling the uncertainty coming off the woman, "I am more than I seem........what is your weapon of choice?" I ask my voice remaining soft as I try to acertain if she is ready or may need or even want my help. I allow feelings of calm to flow off of me knowing that it will help ease what is surely a hard trial for her, as I smile and await her response.

Aria

Awakening suddenly, I felt and heard Ray clearly. Smiling, I jumped from the couch and grabbed the keys off of the table.

"I am coming..." I knew where the airport was and how to get there, this would be easier.. I scribbled a note to Keith to stay put then thought better of it. He would be vulnerable here alone.

Banging on his door I called out, "Time to go.. back up has arrived." A thrill went through me, finally family! I couldn't contain my excitement and dread. Sitting down on the back of the couch I wondered if perhaps bringing him here was stupid?

I couldn't second guess myself now, it was too late for that. Now it was time to bring an end to all of this.. Some how and some way.. Lance had not returned just yet and time was on our side.. Until or If Mongrel got the page. One step at a time, I was no coward and wouldn't cower now..

"Come on Keith, hurry up!" I hollered out, impatiently waiting.

AB

Glancing up at the sudden touch, her eyes met those of Cat. Smiling awkwardly, she put on her best face. She would be lying to say she wasn't a little worried about this unknown thing happening, she was basicly clueless in this whole ordeal.. but like it or not she was here for the long haul.

"I like to use a ten inch blade and a 9 hand gun. Gives distance and if need be close attack range." She scoot over into the other seat, giving Cat room to sit down while they landed. She tentively thought over everything she had heard and been told in the past twenty four hours, so much happening so fast it seemed.

"I sense in you alot of power, if I may be so bold. I do not have anything special to tell me this, just.. Well I see it in your eyes." She wasn't sure how to explain it really, but she felt it more so.
"You are right, I have survived even against nature's course, but it lies in the past, as many things should. If we have time durring this madness, I would like to try this healing.. Only if it will not weaken you." She turned her head and met Cat's stare. "I think the past should stay there, and from what I've learned the past is biting us all on the arse currently." Smiling, she let a little of her accent through but grinned none the less.

"I am no warrior, but I can do my fair share. Whatever is needed." She sensed that perhaps if the outcome was bad, they wouldn't be around long to kick themselves over it. Better to die doing something important than to die for lesser reasons.

Kat

I nod slightly accepting the seat offered with a smile, as I listen to AB's words about her fighting and her suspicions of my strength. "The healing you talk about is nothing more than altering your outer appearance to match that which is within." I grin at the sudden sense of hope in her, and realize just how young she and christian are compared to me. I glance over at Ray and see he is still in his trance, then back to AB....."I am not unfamiliar with different forms of combat, perhaps I........." I trail off as I suddenly feel Aria and the urgency in her. "RAY, how long do we have before she gets here?" MY voice is calm but now holds an edge......"I need to prepare and A.B needs something mroe suitable for battle." I look A.B over head to toe scrutinizing her closely for size and height, "You would fit in my gear from my younger days if you approve........it is flexible, breathes well on the skin and has a few enhancements I've added."

"I didn't hear anybody call?" Keith yawned as he exited the bathroom, his hair wet and matted at the side of his head. Beads of water clung to his skin, as he walked naked to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water.
"How many are coming? I don't think my car can hold two or more, and even then we'll have to clean out the whole back. They can grab a few rental cars or something. Equipment?"
Vladimir had his entire plane filled with an arsenal that Keith had only seen in small armies. If these guys were anything similar, than they would need a van or something to grab it all.
"Oh well, I'm sure they already have it figured out. They've been on a plane for eight hours, travel accomodations are the least of their worries."
He went into his room, grabbing a pair of jeans and an overcoat that didn't seem too tight. It was all he had, she still had his only shirt.
It would be dirty and bloody anyway. He didn't mind, he worked under worse conditions. Clothes didn't seem all that important when killer vampires with abused ego's are about to take over the world.
"All right, I'm ready."
He grabbed the keys and got into the car. He didn't think she was waiting for another phone call, but then again, she didn't need it before. It was a short (A SHORT!!!) ten minutes back into town, and towards the airport.

Christian

I awake at the sound of Ray's voice, going from dead asleep, dreaming, to being wide-awake and sitting up before he finished the first word.
I'd been dreaming of Kayla, dreaming about...
I shook my head.
Dreaming about the past, about a connection that was lost.
Let it go, Christian, I told myself. But I knew it would not be so easy.
I got up and threw on my clothes, having merely tossed them on the floor nearby and when I lay down.
Her image remained in my mind, a reminder of what I'd lost.
And what might be to come, as well, my mind reminded. I thought on that for a moment, fear striking deep. I had just lost her, recently, and become distant to my own, my clan.
I had lost much over the past so many days. Too much.
And here I was, concerning myself over the welfare of these newcomers into my life. A large man who needed no one's concern, it seemed. His "sister", who seemed many things, but I knew as none, having just met her. And A.B.? A sweet girl it seemed, the kind I would normally view as a younger sister, feel protective over. And I was reacting to her as such. But what had I gotten her into? I'd brought her across the ocean to face what?
I'd lost someone very close to me, too close to me, in batle, and here I was...concerned over the well-being of three individuals whom I might well lose within the hour.
I was a fool toput so much concern into them, but worse, I was a fool to care so much, to open myself to them the way i had.
But that would change....
I opened the door, stepping out inot the room in time to hear A.B. and Kat discussing the procedure to rid the girl of her scars.
"I think the past should stay there, and from what I've learned the past is biting us all on the arse currently." A.B. was explaining, and I bit my tongue, deciding not to mention my own thoughts. We were who we were because of what the past had taught us. Were they not aware of that? Could they not appreciate that?
I ignored the rest of thier words and took a seat in the nearest chair, buckling in to land. I didn't favor them glances, didn't say a word, but waited fo rthe plane to touch down.

AB

"You would fit in my gear from my younger days if you approve........it is flexible, breathes well on the skin and has a few enhancements I've added." Cat's kind words once again awe her and this wonderful woman's generosity. Smiling she nods her head and smiles, "Thank you, I would be honoured." She was a little intimidated by Cat and the others, but she was feeling more and more at ease as the hours passed. They weren't showy nor loud, and none of them had tried to take advantage of her weakness around others. No one barked orders or pushed, she was greatful for that as well as being along for something important. It was Christian's doing in getting her here with those rings and questions, but she brought herself along of her own free will.. She couldn't wait to see what all this was about and felt perhaps this Aria might shed some light on it? Ray was not a talkative man, he sat around and grumbled mostly, and truth be told, she was afraid to get too near him. He was a big guy and rather 'dark' in appearence.
Shaking herself out of her thoughts, she moved to stand up, "Well shall we ready ourselves?" The flight was uneventfull and strangely, she was never once sick. Her spirits were lifting a little more.

Aria

Riding along silently, I hoped Ray had brought some cash or cards with him. I needed clothing and weapons and had no access to my account. Sighing, I knew better, Ray never traveled anywhere without the basics, cash being one of those.

I was nervous, I still had holes in my memory. Would I remember him as I pictured him in my mind? Was I seeing the right man when his name came to mind? How could I explain my absence and memory loss, getting some of it back and still left with big gaps? I hoped he would understand, I sure as hell didn't think I could explain it well enough...

A few big guns, some C4 and some attitude (which I had plenty of) Mongrel's place will be laid in a pile of rubble when I am done with him. He had many places he could go, I didn't care, just the thought of blowing up one of his mansions made me smile.

Staring out the window, we pulled into the tiny airfield/ air port and climbed out. I needed some shades, I had a fuckin' head ache from hell. Looking around carefully, my eyes landing on anyone near by, even the luggage boys, checking for any indication we were followed.

"Looks clear." Hearing the hum of an engine, my hand moved up and shielded my eyes, watching as the jet came slowly down from the sky. Another sat just barely taxied up and stopped in a 'parking' space and sat. Ray was in one of them.

"They're here and yes we'll be renting something alot larger than your little car." I smiled, letting him know the words weren't meant to sting.

Kat

Nodding at A.B I walk over to Ray and lightly grab his shoulder. "She is here Ashke'?" I can feel her nearness and my throat tightens slightly at the thought of seeing her again. Getting back to the here and now I place my usual indifferent look on my face knowing that Ray will need me more than ever. I turn and look at my other companions and with a smile to Christian and a wink to A.B. I walk over to the door, "Well let's go see what we have, what we need, and how much of my money is about to be spent." I grin a bit and open the door knowing that new weapons and supplies would be needed, and my mind turns to the suitcase of magical artifacts and weapons that I brought with me. No one with me now was aware I had it even Ray, and I knew it would be a welcome treat. Stepping off the plane I stretch languidly and turn as I sense someones eyes on me and a tremendous sense of disbelief at my presence..........

Aria

Standing in the shadow of the nearest building, I watched the door open and someone step down. A shiver ran up and down my spine a moment as my eyes widened and stared.

"Can't be?" I gasped, feeling the world tip at seeing a dead woman!??

"Oh my hell! Cat?" I moved forward, eyeing her a little uncertain. A smile broke out on my face, Won't Lance be a little shocked to see her??

"My god, I was told you were dead?!" She did look familiar and some memories did hold her in them, although how she died or when I was told this escaped recollection. Straightening a little more, my eyes moved to the door way as Ray started to exit.

I had forgotten how big and broad he was, and he had yet to meet my eyes. I waited silently for the pair to come down, a little more nervous than before.

"Oh shit!" My eyes found the ring on Cat's finger. "Great.. you too?" This irritated me. Not because she wasn't worthy, more because she was now in danger. I could feel a head ache developing rapidly.

AB

Hanging out behind Christian, she waited her turn to exit the plane, not knowing what to expect she pushed gently on Christian's shoulder, "You go first." She grinned a little, teasing him as a 'little sister' would. Nudging him along, she detained her exit. How would her presence be explained?

Saying nothing, she let Christian's frame block most of hers. This made her feel secure for a small amount of time, til she could get her 'war' face on.

Ray

I step out of the plains door my eye’s sweeping over the buildings below searching. Then I see Aria my I stop as I watch her move up to Kat a smile on her face at seeing her surprise that she is alive. I slowly walk down the stars my eyes looking over her carfuly.

I frown as I see the look on Arias face pain from one of her headackes. I sigh softly moving behind her my hands moving to her temples my fingers gently rubbing them trying to sooth the pain away.

“You rely do have to learn how to relax.” I say in a soft voice. My fingers move in slow circals. I gently kiss the top of Arias head happy that she is truly alive and seemingly well. I take deep breathes of air taking her sent in to my longs all most afraid that she would disaper on me agen.

“I’m glad you weren’t killed in the explosion.” I say softly my voice faint as I try to keep the sadness out of it. I look up at Kat a sad smile on my lips. “At least some of the family is still alive to fight.” I say in a sad voic face not showing any amoion as I fight t keep control knowing that if I let my self go I would do some thing stuped.

I look up as the other two come down the stars I tilt my head slightly. “Christian AB this is Aria the one we came to save.” I chuckle softly. “Though as ushiwil she has saved her self some how.” I shrug slightly “But we shall keep her out of trouble now though that will be difficult she has a talent in finding it.” I chuckle softly as my fingers continuou to move on her temples.

Kat

I thought you were dead!"

I smile broadly at Aria's reaction to me, and my wearing the ring. "Goddess be praised I seem to have returned tot he unliving." I feel Ray behind me and watch as he walks behind Aria and familiarly begins to relax her and help remove the headache she has coming on. He looks to me with something akin to sadness in his eyes and I wink a bit as the introductions begin. I turn to watch christian and A.B leaving the plane and walking over loop one of my arms through each of theres giving them support and letting Aria know more by that simple gesture. "These two trouble makers are new friends.....and this one..." I wrap an arm around A.B a soft burr to my voice, "This one will soon be much more deadly than she seems." I look at Aria and say with meaning, "I'm going to train her." I note the look of surprise on Rays face, "If she'll have me that is....." Suddenly I look deeply at ARia and releasing A.B Touch aria gently on the shoulder........my eyes open widely as the shock registers and I turn to Ray........."Lance???? He is still alive??" MY whole body tenses and my hand unknowingly goes to my chest over my heart as fresh pain races through my body. I take a deep breath and wait to hear everything...................

Aria

Smiling, my arms open wide and in a bear hug I go. Feeling Ray wrap around me, it's been awhile since I felt this safe.. It felt like centuries and not mere months.

"Oh, I died Ray... but I will explain later. Thank you." I squeezed tighter a moment, "For coming for me." Stepping back, I released him and smiled tenderly. He was a good friend and always would be if I could keep it that way.

Hearing Cat and hearing the new names, I turned and met two pairs of strange eyes staring at me. "Well I have a human police officer with me as well.. So play nice, I promised him safety for his aid." The name of Lance cause a sharp stab of pain in my heart as I tried hard not to spill it all here in the open.

Holding her gaze I spoke softly, "We best discuss this somewhere privately without any chance of listening ears..." I turned back to Ray. "I am at your mercy Old friend... I am in this country illegally since MOngrel's goons took me from the Hotel in New York.. I have nothing with me, no weapons, nothing. So could you borrow me some aid? You know I can pay it back." I smiled at his nod, there was never a cause to believe he wouldn't help me, but manners dictated I asked.

I was floored, this was unexpected.. All off them arriving and Cat alive? And she was training this new comer? Why? The other in the back, the new guy, he bore a ring as well. "Maggie's.. And Erika's rings.." I stiffened up a moment, not sure I could hold it together. "Joseph's as well... We lost many didn't we?" I glanced up at Ray hovering over me. Clearing my throat, I tried again to piece it all together but ran into blank spots again.

"Hi there." I greeted the two new comers, it was hard to be friendly with Gumo's latest betrayal.. which I still had to tell them about as well as Lance and Willow... This was going to be a long day and night. "Shall we get another vehicle and get in gear?" I felt edgy out in the open and the cuts hadn't healed since I had not fed since the basement encounter. They itched more than hurt but there was a mild pain.. I wouldn't be pointing it out either. For now supplies and the safety of the cabin.

AB

She did not miss the importance of Cat's offer, she knew that Cat was a great warrior in her own right and knew more things than she ever would, but she still felt out of place amoung these strangers. And the new addition did not look all that friendly.
Smiling, she glanced at Cat and nodded her head, "I would be honoured again." Feeling a blush rise in her face, she couldn't say anything more, tongue tied happened at odd times and this was one of those.

She wished she could read minds a little easier, she would love to know what Christian was thinking right now, maybe he was as uncertain as she was? Maybe he just didn't show it?

"Hi," Keith waved a hand, giving off this half sort of smile to try and ease off the tention he had pent up. All of them, walking as if cats on the prowl. In his eye, he saw the word Vampire stamped on each and every one of them.
All of a sudden he felt like a rare steak in the midst of a lion pack. They were predators, and whether he liked to admit it or not, he was prey. Giving that gun to Aria didn't seem like such a good idea anymore.
"I've got my place, far away from prying eyes, from the city too. Vlad said they would be looking for people in the city. It would be best to get away. There's plenty of room..."
His opinion died down as the wind began to twirl around them. They were all masters, and here he was, barely able to play the game itself. It didn't matter what he thought, they had the say. Giving another little smile, he leaned back against his car, waiting for them to make a decision.

Kat

Holding her gaze I spoke softly, "We best discuss this somewhere privately without any chance of listening ears..."

The world stops spinning for a moment and I turn away from everyone getting my emotions under control. I suddenly straighten my back and wrapping my pride around me like a cloak turn back to everyone my cool mask of control once again in place. And yet I knew what was about to be said....."Agreed we should find a vehicle and soon." I smile at Ray, "You would be best at that I think." I hand Ray an envelope with several thousand dollars worth of currency and a nod to include Aria in the search. Turning I smile at the human who seems slightly taken back by the whole thing. I walk over to him and hold out my hand, "Nice to meet you Keith, my name is Katerina." My accent comes out strongly but I soften my voice to an almost purr as the human takes my hand, "But you may call me Kat." My smile turns seductive and my thumb brushes the inside of his palm gently before I release his hand. "Are you the one I should talk to about our accomidations then?" I take a step back giving him space knowing humans tended to be funny about such things.

Keith dropped his head at the woman's words, his own eyes searchign for something along the pavement that could hold his interest. He could feel her eyes on him, boring into him. She seemed kind enough, but all he saw when he looked at these people were teeth and thirst.
He didn't know any of them. They all looked like old friends. How old? Hundreds of years? Thousands? Were they all here to watch the pyramids come up?
"I have a place... Aria should have directions to it. It's not too big, but should be able to handle everyone."
He spoke in short bursts, searching for the right words as they came to him. He had a short time figuring out just how to act. Before, with Aria, he handled himself very well, almost with biting perfection, but now, among them all? His stomach began to turn in ways he didn't like.
"You could follow me too, if you want..."
