well, i'm speaking purely of the u.s. at this point as i really know very little about the rest of the world, but in this time and day it's becoming far more common to be circumsized, be it at birth, or as an adult. i've been hearing of a lot of men who are now turning to it later in life. i personally have never been with a man who is uncircumsized as i find it gross, however my husband's brother is gay, and has told me that of the men he has been with, the one he'd been with that was uncircumsized was more sensitive from what he could tell. so i guess is may have some advantages, however, there are so many things that can go wrong with it, not to mention the physical unattractiveness (in my opinion).

I've never seen a cut thingie for real. I confess though, that my experience as to real life thingies is extremely limited. Anyways, I believe it's mostly a cultural/what you're used to issue. I find the cut thingies look yucky. And I really enjoy having the foreskin to play with. Of course keeping it clean is a must, but that goes for every body part where skin folds over skin (like under the breasts of women)

I didn't vote though, because I'm not aquainted to any cut thingie so couldn't really give my opinion on the play, only on the look. And I want to add that I don't thing the male thingie is the most beautiful thing nature ever devised. It's fun, but it's not particularly pretty.

I just love to see all the various opinions offered here. I have a rather firmly held opinion against the circumcision of the thingie of a baby for strictly cultural reasons. I might try to make the argument later.

How someone feels, what they are attracted by, what makes them wet or hard - that can not be argued as right or wrong. Thanks to all that have posted their feelings.

Chris - I like your "And I want to add that I don't thing the male thingie is the most beautiful thing nature ever devised. It's fun, but it's not particularly pretty" - it is a clear statement of your esthetic valuation of thingies. And I can understand your POV. I, on the other hand, happen to have a completely opposite visual appreciation of thingies - I find them lovely in all their manifestations.

I'm cut. Like just about every US-born male.

***WARNING: RANT ALERT***
I don't like the fact that it's common practice, and while I have some firm opinions on the topic of circumcision of infants, I'll keep most of it to myself.

I will say that the "sensitive cockhead" you read about in erotica is a joke to me personally. You could stick a pin in it and I probably wouldn't notice if I didn't know the pin was coming. I tried this once; knowing a pin was coming, it still hurt considerably less than a similar pin in the pad of my thumb. The most sensitive part is further down on the shaft, a crinkle on the underside.

If an adult wants this procedure, fine, let 'em have it, but it should not be common practice on infants.
***END OF RANT***

As to which ones do I like to play with, I've only ever played with one that was not my own, and it was cut, too.

To have a child circumcised or not in Australia is as I imagine in most countries the option of the parents. This has been an issue of many conversations in my close circle of family and friends as we seem to have a high proportion of boys. It not really culturally designated here as to the choice parents make and if anything the majority of health professionals classify circumcision as anything from redundant to barbaric from a medical perspective. Its rare to occur before the infant is at least a few days old as parents are given consideration time. I will say from experience in my 'group' the strongest influence is that most men want their sons to reflect their own from an anatomical perspective. As far as appearances/aesthetics are concerned I do not have a personal preference. Somehow the 'thingy' is as adored to me as the man its attached to. Comprende ?

I'm uncut and I pre-emptively voted that I like to play with both. I've not played with someone else's thingy yet. But to quote a friend of mine, I like people, not plumbing. IMO, genital mutilation is wrong. I wouldn't do it to any kid. If they decide later in life to do this to themselves, cool.

Infant circumsicion = EW.
They stop people from chopping off little girl's skin, but they don't bother stopping people from chopping off little boy's skin. Heaven's knows i'm all about playing with our bodies, but it should be a choice.

I mean both are ok, i've played with both, but for the most part i'd say the uncut guys are a bit more responsive.

Actually, they don't always stop them. It's one of my pet peeves and political things. Incidently, a woman who's suffered through this isn't a turn off for me, but the relationship did take a bit more loving care than usual. We never did make it to bed (for other reasons) but she is still one of the most desirable women I've ever met.

Chopping off girl's skin can make orgasm almost impossible, and stimulation sometimes unbearably painful.

Chopping off boy's skin has no SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN difference in sensation and ability to orgasm.

The clitoris is -Vastly- different from the penis in sensation-nerves and how they're bundled and need for a hood for protection.

I believe it should be the parent's choice.

Unless your a man how the hell would you know how it feels.

Men do get cut as adults for all kinds of reasons, should they ask their parents first?

I was cut on day 5 and it hurt like a fucking bitch. On day 8 it still was painful and I was ready to kick someone's ass. But looking back I guess it was good to get it over with.

There's been studies slave. There's no absolute proof. AND THEY ASKED MEN. Google it.

I didn't get hostile to you and I didn't make this personal. I understand if you have powerful feelings about this subject but damn! Why am I your target now?!

As we are seeing here in this little thread meant to celebrate the beauty of thingies, there are strong feelings about making the decision to cut a child's thingie or not. There is conflicting information when one starts researching the issue. My personal opinion is that cutting is generally not "needed" and is strictly a cultural thing - we just don't admit that and call it a medical issue.

I was cut as a baby and wish I had not been. It never crossed my mind to not have my two sons cut just after birth, and I wish now that I had not had it done to them. When my two grandsons were born I asked there parents to not have it done. I did not prevail.

The information below supports my bias. I know there is a wealth of information supporting other biases.

Are there any benefits from circumcision?

Studies about the benefits of circumcision have provided conflicting results. Some studies show certain benefits, while other studies do not. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says the benefits of circumcision are not significant enough to recommend circumcision as a routine procedure and that circumcision is not medically necessary. The American Academy of Family Physicians believes parents should discuss with their son's doctor the potential benefits and the risks involved when making their decision.

A recent AAP report stated that circumcision does offer some benefit in preventing urinary tract infections in infants. Circumcision also offers some benefit in preventing penile cancer in adult men. However, this disease is very rare in all men, whether or not they have been circumcised. Circumcision may reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. A man's sexual practices (e.g., if he uses condoms, if he has more than one partner, etc.) has more to do with STD prevention than whether or not he is circumcised.

Study results are mixed about whether circumcision may help reduce the risk of cervical cancer in female sex partners, and whether it helps prevent certain problems with the penis, such as infections and unwanted swelling. Some studies show that keeping the penis clean can help prevent these problems just as well as circumcision. Infections and unwanted swelling are not serious and can usually be easily treated if they do occur.

Interestingly I just googled for an unbiased opinion on the topic of circumsision and came up with this ..........

The Virtual Foreskin

Introduction

Another site that goes on about the pros and cons of circumcision? Yes, but with a difference. This site aims to present an unbiased view and the longest list of links to other websites that are for and against circumcision and foreskin restoration.

Background

So why am I interested?

I'm a thirty-something married male living in the UK who, up until now, has remained (almost) intact. My Doctor has recommended I have a circumcision on more than one occasion to clear up a recurrent medical problem. This is an option I have to consider. Until fairly recently I had little idea of what was involved in this procedure and its outcome. During my schooldays I noted that some of my friends had been circumcised but I had no cause to be interested in the matter at the time and missed the opportunity to find out more. I have moved away from the place where I grew up so have no old friends to confide in or ask - seems to be a taboo topic in the UK anyway.

In my quest for more detail I have trawled the Internet on a number of occasions and read a lot about the subject. My awareness has grown and I have formed some opinions. For instance, I do not think that babies should be circumcised for any reason. Any parent that has this done to their son must be prepared for the potential backlash and resentment when he grows up. On the other hand, later in life if a valid medical problem, e.g. non-retraction, becomes apparent it should be treated positively with as little fuss as possible. Disappointingly there are a number of sites on the Web that promote themselves as "information" pages to enable people to make "an informed decision" but they always seem to promote a single view which is usually to challenge the need for this operation at all.

Anyway, I will add more material as time permits, meanwhile here are the links I have found.

Interesting to note the volume of sites that are Anti-Circumcision based versus Pro-Circumcision and also the number of sites that deal with Restoration.

I am going to respect an adult males opinion on this matter for himself hands down everytime much in the same way I respect matters of pregnancy more biased towards the opinion of the individual woman first.

That's why i didn't say clitoris, they cut off labia too, sometimes only the labia. We still throw rocks at them and i think rightfully so, but i think it's hypocritical to throw rocks one way and not the other. I don't want to throw rocks at anyone, i just want people to stop mutilating their young.

I'm not going to argue which one is better or worse or right or wrong or more severe, I just want people to stop mutilating their young.

Ditto from me on all counts, except for the asking. I did, and the answer was: "It's cleaner and healthier." My parents made that decision 48 years ago.

In March of 1999, the American Academy of Pediatrics issued the following statement which they have not altered since:

"Existing scientific evidence demonstrates potential medical benefits of newborn male circumcision; however, these data are not sufficient to recommend routine neonatal circumcision."

Source: here.

I must therefore cast my vote with the Anti-Neonatal Circumcision camp, because I am unable to justify support for body modification without either a compelling medical reason or the subject's consent.

I've never been one to expound upon the beauty of the cock. ;) However, I will offer a related contribution here.

A while back, on your HJ thread, I mentioned a photo and responses that I read while lurking intermittently on this board last spring. The first time I mentioned it, I didn't know how to find the post that I wanted to show you. But thanks to RJ, I just did.

Unfortunately, the photo itself has been deleted. But that doesn't really matter, because it was the female reaction to the photo that caught my attention anyway.

The photo was a lovely black & white close-up of a woman pressing a cock against her cheek. And my celebratory contribution to your thread is to say: Here's to women who fall in love with the cock when they fall in love with the man. Here's to women with the attitude projected by the one who wrote this post.

Thankyou

A warm thanks for hitting this page and taking the time to read it.

Peter.

However interesting these sites might have been at one time, most of them no longer seem to exist. Of the "no cut" sites, only about four seemed to actually still work, The rest either resulted in destination errors, or the basic 404 page.

The restoration pages were no better. One that did come up showed a diary of one man's foreskin restoration progress with monthly photos. It mentioned some kind of tape (T-Tape?) that is applied in some way. But, the page for the tape method itself is no longer available. Even if the process does work as the photos seem to show, we don't know where to find it.

I also thought it was interesting that one of the restoration sites was for baby crib restoration. I don't know the significance of this, other than a possible error when the origional list was compiled. Or, maybe a little joke, on that person's part? :D

Although there are only two "pro cut" sites, they both still exist. Although one address seems to be now someone's personal home page. His name is Vernon, and I wonder if he is aware of this.

Of the medical info sites, two went to Columbia University's Healthwise - Go Ask Alice! Home Page. Nothing wrong with this, as I'm guessing Alice was only a name to give a more personal touch to the answers...something kind of like Ann Landers or Dr. Ruth, I'd guess. I'm sure there's a panel of experts hiding right behind Alice.

The survey page still works, but I didn't take the survey. See, I was cut 53 years ago and I don't really care to know what I might have been like if I hadn't been cut. I can't do much about it now, nor would I really want to, after seeing little DVS look the way he does for that long.

So, what does all of this say? Well, nothing really, other than I was a little interested in the topic and maybe moreso bored and looking for something to do. Don't anyone take offense in my feeble humor attempts, as they were only my feeble attempts at humor.

Maybe someone with more time and interest could compile another list of sites, "cut" and "no cut" as I'm sure the topic is still as heated as ever. My stomach is talking to me, so I've got to get it something to eat, but I'd bet Google would turn up more than a few interesting site links. Anyone interested in taking that challenge?

P.S.
I read one "non cut" site and it did make sense on the masturbation level. It mentioned the extra skin worked well as a natural lube and it didn't cause friction on the penis head. I guess this also worked during sex, too. But, not having anything to personally base an opinion on, I can only take someone else's word for it.

Personally...
I have no problem putting my penis into action, as it is. As I said, I'm circumcised. I change the oil at regular intervals and take it out on test drives quite often. My unit has a lot of miles on it, and to this date, I haven't had it in the shop even once. Shit, I haven't even had to rotate the tires. :nana:

I'm uncut, thank god too cause I wouldn't wanna be cut at all, looks horrible not having anything to protect it although what do I know, I never had it done.

It seems really dumb to me to cut a boy's penis when biology created all boys with foreskin...foreskin is not a defect, it's part of the penis.

That said, I like playing with either/or as long as I like playing with the guy. :)

I remember that photo - too bad Photobucket's rules will not allow it to stay. If I can find my copy I'll repost it.

hmmmmm?
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice when she was just small

When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice, I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head, feed your head
