My favorite threads are those in which open-ended conversation is encouraged and appreciated. (Those crazy kids on the GB are good at that. ). I don't mind playing games and all, but my favorite thing is to chat people up. I'll admit that i typically see most themed threads (including my own) as simply a veiled excuse to visit with folks in a new environment.

My second favorite kind are the sort in which you answer a question about yourself--like this one.

Generally word games, kinda helps me with my book. Other threads depending on my mood..which hasn't been all that good lately.

The ABC threads are fun when a few crazy people are online together and the posting is fast and clever.

But what I like and value most is the exchange of real experience whether on the bragger threads like "Your last sex", or threads responding to a serious question or woe or issue about relationship and making it good between the sheets.

As an older and long-married litster, I'm genuinely interested in the fortunes of those who have lived one or two of my fantasies, while at the same time I'm glad to have the opportunity here to tell the story of how great the sex can be for a married couple who within committed monogamy have had no end of fun and adventure.

When I first came to Lit, I started with pic posting, limerick, and word game threads. As I go to know more people and became more comfortable here, I began posting more in threads like this one where you answer questions about yourself, express opinions and chat.

Other for me, too - I agree with Honey that the best threads for me are those which can start with one, ostensibly ludicrous topic, and quickly veer into all sorts of absurd, threatening, delightful, whimsical pathways. And I also agree that the GB is the best at those kind of threads, which I suppose is why I spend most time there. I think a great thread should be like an ongoing conversation between great friends in a pub, with occasional interjections by strangers, some of whom may become friends and others who are complete arsehole but nevertheless contribute their unique flavour to the whole.

Ok I admit it. This made me immediately check out Honey's profile pic. I do have to say she has the smoothest, most inviting neck, shoulders and chest. So soft, warm and smooth...

Moving on. And Clowns, yes. I would like to meet you behind Wendy's Friday. But we have to wait till close, that's when they toss out the used cooking grease and we'll need lube.

I'd love a thread, here or perhaps on HT, asking those who have never been to the GB to describe it. There are so many hilarious misconceptions, and most people seem to picture it like one of those vague mediaeval maps, where whole swathes are left blank except for the legend 'Here Be Dragons'...
