Honestly, this is my sense. I've never participated in this, so I don't really know. But talking to a few people here and in other places, it seems to me that sharing and swapping seldom work out well in the long run. The whole jealousy thing raises it's ugly head.

I suspect someone will disagree with me, and post their own personal experience to the contrary, and I completely respect that. I can believe there are couples who make it work. I think they are very special, and very rare.

Although I understand it, I have to say that if handled correctly and beforehand, jealousy shouldn't present that much of a problem. Discussion ahead of time and honesty so that there are boundaries and complete understanding should help avoid most jealousy issues.

On the other hand, if I wasn't expecting it and it hadn't already been discussed, I can definitely say that it's not my thing either.
