Daydream_weaver's Refuge

*closing my book in satisfaction I turn over and push myself up into a folded legged sitting position, stretching my arms above my head. The sun will be setting soon and the shadows are beginning to lengthen. Once again my woods seem a welcoming place and I take a deep breath, taking in all the scents around me...but mostly...her scent...

Opens an eye, watches as she stretches. The Wolf gets up and steps from the shadows into the clearing...eyes focusing on her. Changes. Brown skinned girl, squatting, watching, taking memory snap shots...

Hello Weaver...

*Watching her change as she approaches I feel the rabid butterflies in my stomach going mad. I swallow hard and rest my hands loosely on my thighs. I smile at her, sure that I am the epitome of cool calmness...and that I am fooling no one*

Hello...Luna...it's good to see you

Small grin, white teeth flashing in the gloom

Missed the quiet, Weaver, sweet Weaver. Tis good to be here...in your presence.

Stands up, wandering closer. Sitting down, a few feet away. Eyes locking on Weaver, studying her. Sniffing, her scent teasing my senses...

I am not intruding?

Not at all...I enjoy having you here. *tucks a lock of hair behind one slightly pointed ear and glaces at her, the soft smile still on my lips* This is one of my favorite times to be out here. Dusk, just as the woods begin to really come alive.

I like full night, but then you know that...

Leans back, eyes closed...

This is so peaceful, serene. I had forgotten...

*smiles and brings my knees up, arms wrapping around them as I gaze off into the growing dark...a sigh of contentment drifts away, barely noticeable on the evening breeze*

Sits up and smiles over at Weaver.

How is your cabin? Has it been busy? Have you? What is new with you, sweet one? Fill me in, please. I feel disconnected.

I haven't really had visitors inside the cabin for a while. A new friend that I am working on a story with has crossed my path in the woods a couple of times. *smiles and looks back at her* She likes the peacefulness, like we do. And there was one other visitor.

I've been doing a lot of wandering and lurking and thinking.

Did I ever tell you I have a cat?

A cat?

soft smile

What type? And I have been reading along...you mean the thread you have with Rumorhasit? Like it so far. Even confessed it once...

grins

One day I will come a knocking on your door....to check on the changes.

That's the thread. It just sort of came about from a conversation we had in a thread where she asked for suggestions. I think it will be fun...we're just taking our time with it, no rush to post.

*laughs softly* I mentioned my cat because of the time of night it is...he brought me a bat the other night. A live bat into my room in the middle of the night.

*reaches out and rests my fingers on her arm for a moment* ...and any time you want to come to my door you are welcome...you remember where the key is?

smiles wistfully...

A bat huh? Maybe he thought you were hungry.

Voice becomes husky

And I remember where the key is, sweetest Weaver. I remember far too many things to forget something as important as that.

I think he likes to show me what a mighty hunter he is... *smiles softly and lets my fingers trail reluctantly away, remembering many things myself...*

What of you? Do you have plans for your day off?

Other than torturing minx and possibly Ausus with Leo? Not really, sweet Weaver. Am clearing the Den out so that I can concentrate...

husky whisper

Wishing I could spend time with you...

*laughs softly and shakes my head* Still slightly terrifying to think of you and Leo both...I may have to peer into my crystal ball and watch the proceedings...

*thinks for a moment then gathers my courage to whisper, my cheeks flaming with color* when you are done...if you want or need some place to be, my bed in the cabin is soft and comforting...and I would come to you there.

A trembling smile a soft touch

Then I will come, sweet Weaver, to take my comfort from you...

Eyes go to your mouth, wishing...

So watch what we do, my Weaver...you may enjoy it...

*my lips warm and tingle almost as if in memory...the color in my cheeks doesn't lessen as I nod and laugh a bit self consciously* ..that's part of what terrifies me, I think...that I might like what I see.

Do you need to go and focus on the happenings there?

*Gathering my things I make my way back through the dark to my cabin. Standing inside the back door I rub my hands together, slowly at first then faster and harder until a faint glow comes from between them. When the glow is enough I bring my hands to my lips and blow a soft breath between them. The glow spreads out from the palms of my hands, glittering dust on a breeze that is not there. The cabin fills with the scent of earth and growing things, of darkness and light, of vanilla and musk. Candles burst into life giving a warm welcoming glow to the whole cabin.

Stepping into the alcove I think for a moment then quickly strip the bed, replacing the bedding with sheets and cases of darkest green, soft as silk and cool as satin. With a smile I turn back the quilt making the bed into an inviting sight.

I move into the bathing room and emerge some time later my hair gathered atop my head, secured with long ebony sticks, my body clad in a simple shift of silver grey. Tiny straps leave my shoulders mostly bare, the low front of the gown showing the rounded tops of my breasts. I look at myself in the mirror and hope that I am as inviting to look upon as the rest of cabin.

On silent bare feet I move to the sitting area and sink down into the pile of cushions before the fireplace. It is too warm for fire but a wave of my hand brings forth a glowing orb that hovers within the darkness of the hearth. Figures waiver and play through it and I can see and interact with my chosen world without my body ever leaving my refuge.

*rising from my place in the cushions I wave a hand and all but a select few of the candles wink out...one near the door...one in a sconce on the wall near the alcove and one on the table beside the bed.

I pad into the alcove and climb up onto the bed, leaning back against the headboard to wait....

Making my way back to the Refuge, I stop at the edge of the clearing, my eyes gazing raptly at the cabin. I want to finish moving forward but hesitate...worried.

*a wave of my hand and the front door swings slowly open...the warm glow of the few candles beaconing*

Silently, I stride forward, up the front steps onto the porch. The door is open, the faint glow of a few candles, calling out to me. I step inside, close the door, and silence, peace, washes over me. Moving through the near dark, I head for the bedroom and stop, my breath catching as I see Weaver on her freshly made bed. I move closer, coming to a stop a few feet away. My voice is a whisper in the dark

Hello, sweet Weaver. Do you have room for one more?

*reaching up to pull the sticks from my hair I shake it loose around my shoulders, my eyes locked on hers as I move to one side of the bed and hold out a slightly shaky hand to her* ...especially for you...come snuggle?

Stripping down, leaving only a black sports bra and boxer briefs on, I slide into her bed, my stomach knotted and unsure...I sink into her bed, into softness and safety and warmth...

Yes, lay with me.

*I wait for her to settle before gingerly scooting closer, stretching out beside her on my side, the length of my body not quite touching hers. My eyes watch, gauging to see her reaction, suddenly nervous. I take a breath...release it...take another...*

May I ask a question?

Eyes upon her face, lightening as I feel her nearness. I fight to keep my hands by my side, to not reach for her, trap her, keep her.

Yes...
