What about wait staff that is rude and assholish to their customers?Being rude to service providers, wait staff, skimping on tips, that kinda thing. Such assholery is not okay!
You be doing too muchWhat about wait staff that is rude and assholish to their customers?
Remember, a Tip is NOT automatic: it's an expression of how well or poorly one has performed.
To an extent: I begin at 15% before I sit down. It can go up or down from there. It doesn't take anything above and beyond to bring it to 20% and even 25%
If I receive exceptional care I do 30% - 35%. That is my average, probably half the time I Tip 30% or more.
Once or twice a year I Tip 50% for remarkable performance. A couple times in my life I've tipped 100%
On the other hand there are times I Tip nothing. Or even the infamous penny.
When I do this I always leave a note of explanation.
Many times when service was remarkable and I Tipped 35% or more I will inform the manager of the high quality of their staff.
I have also had to accept that many times what I see in myself as simply demanding, others see as assholish. Sometimes I've recognized in myself, or been told by others that I was wrong, over the line. I've had to accept that, go apologize, thank them for their patience with me, and revise their Tip amount.
Even if it were a day or two later.
Embarrassingly enough I remain a work in progress, and continue to fall
Just saying it goes both ways. Nobody is always perfect
And Tips are not automatic

Before I got to the end I assumed you were probably an asshole and its funny you've been called out on behaving that way
