I do know that digging comes naturally to certain breeds and is a very difficult behavior to change.

It's not a Dalmation is it?

no... it's not a Dalmation... it's part shepherd and part rottweiler. *sigh*

Not what I've heard .. I've heard they are HORRIBLE little diggers!
I grew up with Dalmatians, pics of me in a whelping box of 1 of 3 different litters and we never had problems with any of the dals we had digging LOL

they're no different than any other dog...I personally don't think it's the dog, its the owner (generally speaking) and how a previous owner let a dog get away with it if the dog came from the pound or something

Really?? Well, I'll have to take your word since you grew up with them .. but my cousin breeds them and he says they're natural diggers.

Of course, like you say ... it could be the owner's problem, not the animals

what dog isn't a natural digger LOL - you look back at the history of breeds and most of them were bred to dig for mice, rats and moles to mention a few....Rat Terriers, Jack Russells, etc...that's like saying a Calico cat is a natural mouse killer LOL
ours probably weren't diggers cause my parents actually put the Dal's we had through obedience class regularly and my dad wouldn't be all to happy if there were any plants of his dug up cause of them LOL
