Joe Biden set to address sex assault accusations Friday

Washington (AFP) – Joe Biden will break his silence Friday about a former aide’s allegations that he sexually assaulted her in the 1990s, according to the broadcaster set to interview the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.Biden’s morning appearance on MSNBC comes as he faces mounting pressure, including from President Donald Trump, to address the allegations, and as top Democrats rushed to the party flagbearer’s defense.”Tomorrow in a @Morning_Joe exclusive, former Vice President @JoeBiden (will) respond for the first time to the recent allegation of sexual assault,”

‘This never happened’: Joe Biden calls for release of any documents related to sex assault accuser

Joe Biden denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a former Senate staffer decades ago.

Former staffer Tara Reade claims the former Delaware senator and vice president had assaulted her on the job in 1993, but Biden told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” denied her allegations and said he’s not aware of any complaints lodged against him at that time.

“This never happened,” he said. “No, it is not true. I’m saying unequivocally it never happened.”

Elizabeth Warren top pick to be Biden’s running mate – and by large margin especially on critical question

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is the top pick among Democrats to be Joe Biden’s vice president, a new poll finds, and on one critical question she’s number one by a very large margin.

In every category, in fact, the Massachusetts progressive who last fall was seen as the Democratic party’s presidential frontrunner beats out all other possible VP nominees, as Vox reports.

Warren came in first, the poll shows, at 31%, followed by Sen. Kamala Harris at 18%, Stacey Abrams at 10%, Sen. Amy Klobuchar also at 10%, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer at 3%, and Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto at 1%.

And when asked who of the six are most ready to be president – possibly the most critical consideration when choosing a vice presidential running mate, Warren excelled by a huge margin.

DNC mega-donors reject Liz. Will the DNC listen to the people who vote, or the people who donate the big bucks? Will OHJ do another Princess Sparkle Twat Flop? :)

Citation, please. That's not covered in your quoted material. Just making it up? It's logical, of course, since she's going after the super rich, but where's your hinted evidence that that is throwing her out of the mix? The VP searchers have just started their work.

I've consistently opined that she should be the pick.

#1308:rolleyes:

Thanks. I hadn't read back that far. I think this is a case were the donors don't have anywhere else to go and will send money anyway. So, I still think Warren is the best bet.

Warren has less charisma than Hillary Clinton is that is possible.

She was THIRD in her own state in the Primaries. THIRD. That is almost impossible to accomplish.

Trump campaign floundering amid sinking poll numbers: ‘Not sure people hate Biden that much’

President Donald Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign is facing difficulty connecting to voters, according to a new report in The Washington Post.

“For weeks the Trump reelection effort has diligently cut, catalogued and pushed out viral videos of every verbal stumble Joe Biden makes in interviews, relentlessly pushing the idea that the presumptive Democratic nominee is mentally unfit for the presidency,” the newspaper reported Saturday.

One Trump campaign advisor summed up the problem Trump is facing.

“One of the reasons we won in 2016 is because so many people hated Hillary Clinton. I’m not sure people hate Biden that much,” the advisor explained.

No, I don't suppose they do.:)

You heard that from Hillary Clinton, did you?

Why aren't you suggesting that Bernie swoop in?

Obama campaign vets give Joe Biden a battle plan he can use to flatten Trump this fall

David Axelrod and David Plouffe, who were top strategists in former President Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential bid, believe that former Vice President Joe Biden needs to do more than what he’s doing right now to defeat President Donald Trump this fall.

Although Biden currently leads in polls, Axelrod and Plouffe warn in the New York Times that lead won’t last if the Biden campaign isn’t prepared for the onslaught of attacks the Trump campaign is poised to launch.

“Still, with creative and timely interventions, Mr. Biden can turn the tables on Mr. Trump,” they write. “To do this, the challenger needs to behave more like an insurgent, building the capacity to wield facts, humor and mockery at lightning speed in those surreal moments of opportunity that Mr. Trump regularly provides.

(Simple example: a Biden video, fired off in real time: ‘This is a cup of Lysol. It is poison. Please do not drink it.’)”

Using Trump's own word salad to illustrate his incompetence, could work?:D

No Keith, it is the opinion of a Sky News (Aus) talking head. I just posted his opinion to use the Princess Sparkle Twat line.:)

You should really pay more attention to things.

I'm afraid you don't know how the propaganda machine works. You are operating as a new source filter here. It quite naturally is operated on the basis of your own biases. If you're going to run a propaganda arm, you really should pay more attention to how they work.

Some things to note:

1. Foreign sources are often more reliable than American press, since they are less invested in a certain party or faction and have no reason not to tell it straight.

2. Sky News Australia, however, has an in-built conservative bias. This isn't conjecture, it's reality.

3. CNN has a centrist bias. So does MSNBC, well center-left corporate Dem, hipster liberal bias. Cultural leftist, but pro-war and pro-Wall Street. That's MSNBC and CNN. They're all propaganda machines, and you know it. Just propaganda arms of different political machines.

4. The two major political parties are just fancy political machines, with ward bosses replaced by committee members and chairmen/women. The major parties are corrupt, in many ways irredeemably wicked, both of them. Republicans are dumb enough to fall for Trump's lies, hook, line, and sinker. Democrats are dumb enough to kick their constituents in the balls and expect them to go back for more. They think that they can win without the left by pulling in moderate Republicans. Yeah, how's that working for President Hillary Clinton?

5. The system is structurally designed to keep minor parties permanently in the political wilderness. Intentionally so. Rather than vote-shaming, if the major parties really gave a damn about people, they'd yield some of their power by supporting ideas like ranked-choice voting or jungle primaries. They don't do that because it would subvert their own power and few politicians would ever undermine their own power and wealth that way. It would mean an end to the gravy train of donations from Wall Street and the military-industrial complex.

6. Biden is extremely creepy, corrupt, and likely senile. Trump, however, is so woefully incompetent, unstable, and amateurish that he has now endangered public health and safety by urging people to do things from the bully pulpit that can get them killed. Under the circumstances, Trump has forced my hand by his recent conduct. I'm stuck with Biden, because otherwise, there's an imminent danger to my fellow Americans of people dying who don't have to otherwise. I refuse to let people die just to punish Biden and the DNC as they deserve. That's gonna be a reckoning for the future, but it can only be delayed, not cancelled.

And the JackLuis News Service has a discernible built-in bias too. He doesn't post anything that he doesn't have a take on and that doesn't serve that. I enjoy the service. I'm not fooled that it isn't from his bias, though.

Biden is going to be 78 before inauguration day (and Trump is going to be 74, so there's no more-youthful option currently). I look at who is going to come in with the candidate--and probably have to take over--and how they compare. You can't get any worse with who Trump has brought in and continually replaced with even worse folks (e.g., the guy running the medical answer to the virus pandemic quite recently was just the owner of a Labrador Retriever puppy farm).

The biggest issue with Trump right now is that he's giving out false info from behind the Great Seal of the Presidency. That makes it seem more credible, even though a quick Google or Snopes search could debunk it. Sadly, people are often lazy and gullible enough to just go for it. And that could get people killed. We need someone in there who at least will listen to the CDC. Biden will. Trump won't. Otherwise, more people will die.

Yes, The biggest issue with Trump right now (on top of a whole pile of big issues) is that his insanity is getting Americans unnecessarily killed and no one is stopping him.

Yes I have noticed that we are all biased. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, Sky News and Britebart all have a viewpoint. I find them amusing and somewhat scary. However hammering Trump every fucking day and objecting to the Chickenhawk's rejection of Local Determination I feel is a patriotic duty.

Making fun of HRC is just amusing too.:D

Biden widens lead over Trump in Monmouth poll, but Amash may present problem

Joe Biden has widened his lead over President Trump in the 2020 race for the White House, according to a new Monmouth University poll released on Wednesday.

The poll shows Biden with 50 percent support among those surveyed, 9 points ahead of Trump, who notched 41 percent. That marks a 2-point gain for Biden and a 3-point loss for Trump since the last Monmouth poll released in April.

But the poll also suggests that Biden may have more to lose than Trump if Rep. Justin Amash (I-Mich.) formally enters the presidential race. When Amash was included in the lineup of candidates in the survey, Biden’s support shrank to 47 percent, while Trump’s decreased only to 40 percent.

Mr. Moderate may have a problem if Amash really jumps in!;)
