Did Nancy Pelosi Commit Treason...

I don't know that there was a thread, but there were several posts on the subject. Who said there was a thread?

One presumes that if people genuinely gave a crap they'd show equal outrage or equal apathy. At least within reason. So if there hadn't been a thread about this in 2007 when it was relevant it's because everybody knew it was a non-fucking issue then just like it's a non-fucking issue now.

The Logan as I understand it has never been enforced (no jail time, no fines) and like one indictment two centuries ago. It's the very definition of a law that should be struck from the books not updated.

When liberals want to accuse 47 Republican Senators of treason for writing a letter to Iran, they're going to get reminded of their own actions in the past.

By dredging up these examples in the attempt to distract from the actions of the Senate GOP you prove that when I asked what the GOP would call it if 47 Democrats had done this to a Republican President, I was exactly right.

No one is castigating this guy for his disagreement.. It's the horrendous way he went about it. Probably did it at the behest of someone that's been in office more than him.. Which had been like 60 days?

He could have written the letter to the president, Congress, the American public.. Sending it to a foreign government we're negotiating a nuke treaty with is pure fucking up.

Someone can be an extremely well educated war hero and still be a naive idiot when it comes to politics and could also commit treason.

Not that I think the moronic move by the Senate GOP amounts to treason. The GOP has nearly made the accusation of treason meaningless in their almost daily abuse of the term since 2008.

I DO think that the Senate GOP attempted to intentionally sabotage negotiations between Iran and not only the US, but all of the other countries on the UN Security Council. Something that were the Democrats to have even discussed doing would have led to paroxysms on the "right". Actually following through and sending the letter signed by 47 Democratic Senators would have resulted in a tantrum on a scale that dwarfs the current flap by a factor of 100. Boehner and Co. would already be priming the firing squad.

Hey yo, Vette

Your thread has been hijacked by Niggers Mullah And YouDee.

Lucky you have me to save it:rolleyes:

I read your thread title.. Answer that for now.. Perhaps I'll look up the others.

Seems to be conjecture and guessing about Kennedy..

Update: I should clear up a misconception that’s making the rounds, and that’s the authorship of the memo. Ted Kennedy didn’t write the memo. The memo’s author is V. Chebrikov, head of the Committee on State Security of the USSR–the KGB. It seems to have been written as an after-action in response to a meeting with former Sen. John V. Tunney. Tunney had been sent to the USSR to propose the strategy on Kennedy’s behalf to Andropov. The timing of the meeting isn’t immediately clear from the memo, but if the meeting took place it was most likely in late April or early May 1983.

I think the next step here is to nail down the authenticity of the memo. If it’s real, then the story is obviously very significant. If it’s not real, there’s no story here at all.

Thank you I appreciate that. I have a wood working project going so I'm moving from garage to the house all day. Looks like you've unmercifully stripped off several yards of their asses while I was gone.:D

Reminding you to keep your deviant buttocks fantasies with your blatantly racist buddies out of the Politics Forum, Grandpa Urine.

Helping your illegitimate great grandchild with his soap box derby car is hardly a 'wood working project'.

A QUESTION FOR DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS EVERYWHERE: Does The Obama Administration Think It Can Bind The United States To An International Agreement Without Congressional Approval?

Plus: “What does the president think he is negotiating if he intends to keep Congress in the dark and present a fait accompli? The State Department spokeswoman was unintelligible on the point in the daily briefing.” Obama’s big problem is that nobody trusts him

And note: A couple of weeks ago, it was beyond the pale of decency to ask if Obama loves America, but today it’s fine to call 47 Republican senators traitors.
