My latest update on the Most Influential Writer Category

View Poll Results: May 18, 2009 3:00 p.m. Total votes cast:324

BOSTONFICTIONWRITER – 62 -19.14%
Daniellekitten – 75 - 23.15%
Many Feathers – 26 - 8.02%
Selena_Kitt – 72 – 22.22%
soular – 89 - 27.47%

There’s both good news and bad news in this category.

The Good News – Well, to start off, we’re well on our way to setting a new record for votes cast in any category during any of these ANNUAL AWARD elections. The all time record is 382 votes and given we already have 324 votes cast with two weeks left we are very likely to smash the record.

We also have, for the first time in LITEROTICA history, a category in which 4 nominees have received over 60 votes! This in a category in which the last two winning totals were only 55 and 58 votes. It’s much more interesting for everyone when there’s a little competition.

This year’s competition is further enhanced by the nominees themselves. We have three ex winners. A FAVORITEST and the ex FAVORITEST. We have a man who had two SURVIVER contests stolen from him. Two feuding sisters. A man from the past and a newbie girl.

Religions? We got a Catholic, a Muslim, a shaman, a Protestant and an agnostic!

And diversity – we’ve got that too. We have an Indian. And a black woman. A druggie jailbird. A body builder WASP. Dog lovers! A lesbian. A trisexual.

And this years group of nominees aren’t the usual cast of wimps that this category so often puts up. They’re willing to stand up and fight for the honor. All five have posted on this thread, unheard of in previous contests. They’re all hungry for every vote…

The Bad News

One nominee  has threatened to quit the site because of his low vote totals.

One nominee :) first stuffed the ballot box and then as the tide turned played the race card.

One nominee :D, assailed on all sides, tried to pull his name from the ballot.

One nominee :p created twenty ALTS and then arrogantly voted them all on a quiet Sunday morning.

One nominee  threatened to “get” one of her opponents, an ominous warning given her history of deranged behavior.

Who’ll Win?

Now that’s the 64 million dollar question. Will soular hold on or has she shot her bolt? Can MF marshal his fans and pull off an improbable last minute victory? Will serena and hubby coerce enough backing from their eXcessica authors to snatch victory? Will the danikat somehow find the strength in her sadly frail body (although she still has a very nice firm white ass) to get back out on the campaign trail?

Or will the most deserving, the most talented and the humblest, the kindest, yes of course I’m talking about Freddie, somehow, in spite of his unwillingness to fight dirty, triumph in the end.

I know who my god is hoping for…

I’m james r scouries and I believe its time for a little integrity around here…

Dolphins would love to play football against the AH sissies…

Well, we all know if Freddie doesn't win that we'll have to read even more of his endless tirades about alts and how unfair everyone is. He won't for one minute think it's because of his behavior over the last year and a half.

And he wasn't robbed of last year's survivor contest. He stopped posting stories 5 days before the contest ended, even though he claimed to have over 500 (or was it 5,000?) more stories just waiting to be posted. He could've posted plenty more and taken the contest easily.

Yet, he didn't. Why? So he and scouries (and their army of alts and sock puppets) could bitch incessantly about how he was cheated out of it.

It only takes a glance through his posts on this thread and the others he started in the AH to see his behavior. He takes jabs at people who've done or said nothing to him, thinking they're alts of another author....yet another tired argument....then proceeds to insult not only that author, but anyone who dares stand up for themselves.

I voted in the contests and I've said before, it's no one's business but mine who I voted for. One vote per category, no alts, no padding, just me and my mouse. I voted based on what I've read from each author over the past year. I've also voted on how that author handled themselves on the boards. Hell, if I were up for anything other than most helpful editor, I wouldn't blame anyone for not voting for me based on some of the things I've said.

But, as much as it pains me to admit this, Cloudy is right. I was only making myself look like a bigger fool. So I sat back and let Freddie spew his filth. Now it's coming back to bite him in the ass and he's crying foul. Oh, boo-fucking-hoo. Maybe if he learned to treat people with a little respect, he'd get the votes. Maybe if he put shit that happened almost six months ago now behind him, he could learn to not be so bitter. Maybe if he actually gave a shit about anyone but himself and his ego, he'd have more people support him.

Of course, he won't and his reply to this post will simply be more recycled insults and endless whining about how he's been cheated out of another contest. But then, in the very next paragraph, he'll say he doesn't care about winning any contests, he's just here to write. Yet, he doesn't write on this site any longer. He doesn't have any alts. But he writes under a different name. The man is full of contradictions.

However, I do know one thing for certain: If he didn't care about winning the most influential author contest, he wouldn't have gone on all these endless tirades about alts and cheating. And neither would scouries.

It appears, on the surface, that 5 writers were nominated for the Most Influential Writer of 2008. In actuality, only 3 writers were nominated for the Most Influential Writer of 2008.

Me, Bostonfictionwriter, Many Feathers, and DanielleKitten who is also SelenaKitten and Soular.

As you can see by the votes, DanielleKitten, SelenaKitten, and Soular are running away with yet another fiasco of a contest here at Literotica.

I hereby withdraw my nomination as I no longer want to take part in any Literotica contest.

This is...nuts.

To think that Danielle who is Selena and Soular wants this that bad, she can have it.

What's that? You want proof that Danielle is Selena and Soular?

Let me just say that I'm not a racist and that I wrote what I did knowing that Soular is as white as, oh, I don't know, say, DanielleKitten. Yeah, she is.

Anyway, I was sitting in a diner early in the morning after a night of partying with my entourage. The next booth over was a rather large, older woman who was making a public scene talking to herself. At first we paid her no never mind, but then she grew louder in her private conversation.

"Listen Selena," she said, "I'm winning the contest. I have way more stories than Soular."

"We'll see about that," said Selena.

"Yeah, but I received more votes than you, Danielle," said Soular.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. DanielleKitten was having a conversation with herself while playing the parts of Selena and Soular. She is Selena and Soular. I never would have known had I hear the crazy woman with my own ears.

Obviously, the woman is nuts and if she wants to win this contest that bad, Literotica needs to give it to her. For all I know, she may be violent. Perhaps, if we pacify her by awarding her the Most Influential Writer, she won't kill anyone.

Congrats Danielle. You win. I quit, you crazy fuck.

There's not enough squirrels in the world to save us from kitten nuts.

So you are accusing two of the nominee's of cheating.

If you have proof of this, trot it out for all to see. If not, then remove this post.

You talk about others and dirty campaigns. You are a past master of this crap as everyone knows. This is just another example of your bullshit. Either prove it or take the post down.

I'll wait either way.

And if you can't prove it then everyone should report the post as harassment.

It's hopeless, Tx. Just let them go. Freddie and scouries have made a mockery of yet another contest. It's sad really. Their jealousy shows in every accusing post. They twist everyone's words around to suit themselves. They insult, they show their bigotry. Then when they don't win, they'll cry foul and claim people cheated.

And the REALLY sad part is, they'll blame the rest of us.

James R. Scouries, you are MY man! This is the best laugh I've had all day. I LMAO--not sure how to spell that, but I'm sure somebody will correct me, Ha!

No one but you would have taken the time to research all of the past contest and quoted all these numbers. Love it, hun!

You not only showed the good side, but the bad side, as well. Nothing prejudice about you, sweetheart.

I'd like to take a survey to find out at which age adults acquire a unique sense of humor. Mine kicked in at about 36, cuz its all down hill after that.

Did you ever wonder when people will finally realize what those two are about and how they will prey on anyone?

Actually No One Cheated!

How could they have? They're no rules!

HEY, GOAL BY THE PENGUINS!!!!

No dear bb in fact I’m not accusing anyone of cheating!

What I said as the following:

One nominee  has threatened to quit the site because of his low vote totals.

One nominee :) first stuffed the ballot box and then as the tide turned played the race card.

I think even you’ll concede that MF threatened to leave the site and that BFW tried to withdraw. Even with your reading comprehension I’m sure you understood dk’s threat against BFW. Which takes care of three.

That leaves two (sk +soul) which I’ll assume are the ones you’re referring to.

Re the soul claim I made: As far as I know there is no rule against stuffing the ballot box. In fact, give the abysmal voting totals in past ANNUAL AWARD contests I’m quite sure that LAUREL :cattail: is delighted with this years far improved figures. Given the fact that the site reports such an extraordinary high number of visits each month it must be embarrassing for our ROYALS to see only 50 or so people vote in some of their “ANNUAL AWARD” categories. “Stuff it all you want” is probably their attitude.

As to miss soular – there is absolutely no doubt that over a very short period in the second week of the voting that something like 70-80 votes were made for her in all the categories she was nominated in. If you believe this was a random, unorganized occurrence you’re a lot dumber than I ever thought.

And let’s face it, you did the same thing the first morning of the contest. I’m quite willing to let MANU decide the issue by examining the votes made for you two and reporting back to us his findings.

As to sk I have no proof for my charge. But what I do have, simply by happenstance (Gabby  had gone over the categories and written down the vote totals early Sunday morning – I noticed the change a couple of hours later while looking at her figures), is the knowledge that 18-20 votes were cast in the six categories she is nominated in on Sunday morning. During which time almost no other votes were cast in any other category.

Did she create 20 ALTS? Or did she already have them created? Or did she get 20 friends and family to cast the votes? I don’t really care. She didn’t break any rule because there is no rule to break. YOU’RE ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING IN THIS CONTEST.

HEY, ANOTHER GOAL BY THE PENGUINS – 2-0 !!!!

So my friend no one has cheated! Nor do I accuse them of cheating. They’re simply playing the same old tired AH game! And of course, as usual, we’ll end up with a lot of joke winners that even the winners know don’t represent the will of the only people who count – our readers..

So report the post my good man…. Then stuff a few more ballots in your box.

I’m james r scouries and I believe its time for a little integrity around here…

Jealousy is such an ugly thing, scouries.

You first, oh delusional one.

Scouries, you are pitiful and pathetic.

As for sweeps during the year end awards. No, not during but after, you better believe. See that's the difference between you and the rest of the people here. We do the best we can and hope its enough to please the readers. You throw trash together and then cheat like hell to make it look good. At the end of this we'll see who cheated and who didn't.

Idiot.

Edited to add: MC, we know all about scouries and the other two stooges but there are readers coming in here who have never heard of him and his bullshit.

Oh yeah, speaking of stuffing things. Go check out the second least read category on Lit. Humor and satire. 117 votes cast 72 for one person. I wonder who that could be? Most of them were cast in one day, last Saturday as a matter of fact. So scouries, before you start throwing stones, look overt and see what your left hand is doing.

I made no threats. I wouldn't lower myself to pull any stunts that could lump me in the same catagory as either you or bfw. I just said that our deal was off and that it was his decision to end it.

I take it then that you’re no longer threatening to report my post?

That maybe you’re not so keen to have MANU :D tell us exactly who made the 9 posts on your two nominated stories during the first couple of hours of the contest?

Why not clear it up for us?

Did you vote for your two stories the first morning of the contest?

Do you know who made the other votes for them?

Did you orchestrate them or do you claim it was just a lucky random event?

And no :nana: when you did it you weren’t cheating. You were simply playing the game. Good for you.

I’d be surprised if there was going to be a sweep after the year end awards but I have to admit nothing would surprise me. I can just see it now – Freddie :D leading by one vote when the contest ended and the next day POW, he’s gone.

As to the delightful sarahhh’s :rose: vote total surely you’ve learned by now that this wonderful girl has one of the largest fan bases on the site. Just check out the MOST COMMENTS list in the SF forum. She's good, she doesn't need to play your little games.

Yes, you people! You've all posted here. Instead of scouries lets make the stories the center of attention for today. You’ve all posted here – now lets hear your views on the actual contest. Remember, LAUREL :cattail: is watching!

Your post has been reported. To bad the management doesn't see things the same way as most people. Insults, name calling, and slander are what I call your posts when you have absolutely no proof of anything but your own fantasies.

there were no posts made. Votes yes. today you're asking about 9, yesterday it was 13. Make up your mind.

I have no idea who has or has not voted for me. I haven't talked to anyone about voting in this contest or any other. So much for AH conspiracy theory's.

Now you have your answers and no, I don't play any games and neither does anyone else except you and the other two stooges. The truth always insults you doesn''t it.

And my name is TxRad. Remember it as the winner of your beloved Incest category. Have a nice day.

Oh yeah, and I know all about your alter ego and his 163 ISP numbers. Care to explain that?

I have fully discussed here the reasoning of the only vote I've made in this "contest"--more than once--which, as a previously poster pointed out--is quite a bit more than you did on your ramblings of how you (supposedly) voted across the board (probably more than once).

I've been reading...

At times amused, and at times just sad at everything that's being said.

I don't think anything can be proved, or disproved necessarily, but whats the point anyway?

What I find to be the most difficult to understand is how this whole thing as degenerated into something that has hurt everyone to one degree or another. That it has taken off the pride everyone should take from just being nominated/considered for OUR writing abilities and talents.

Lit never meant for this honorific to become what it's seemingly become, a place for writers/authors to bash one another, point fingers or make accusations, whether they are true or not.

I am truly saddened by what I have read here and seen being said. My personal opinion is that Lit should do away with the contest thingy all together. I do think there are too many flaws in the entire process altogether as it now stands.

What I'd like to see is a panel of certified/approved Lit writers/editors/staff that would make a combined nomination of monthly stories themselves based on specific criteria, (not based on popular voting by who or whatever) and then award a monthly (N) as in nomination much like the Editors (E) and then at the end of the year (again as a panel) with perhaps 25% of the popular vote carrying weight of choice and selection against all those stories with an (N) beside them, to then award (if there should even be an award given after all this) for those stories/authors etc that do win.

Just my own personal thoughts here. But this...this is getting sad and too fucking ridicules for it to continue on as it has been. I actually wish Laurel would just close off this thread and remove it, and let whatever outcome comes from it this year to complete. Then hopefully rethink the whole thing for next year.

Yeah...as Scouries said, I am seriously considering not writing here any more, especially if its degenerating into this kind of ongoing discussion and hate mongering. That's not why (Most of us anyway) came here to begin with now is it?

Just saddens me to see this happening. Seriously.

Seriously.

I think the contests have become what they have because of the slowly developing realization of what they always were--in terms of how easily they could be--and were being--manipulated all along given their sieve-like construction. The results were convincing as long as those who knew what was happening with them could play "just pretend."

Don't think it serves any purpose, though, to just pretend along with the manipulators and let them present themselves and their stories as being what they aren't.

I do get the impression that you haven't been playing "the game" with this yourself--and this only highlights the damage done to pointing to high quality work when probably the nominee with the best credentials if story quality is the standard (which it may or may not be for this category) is well in last place on the voting.

As you reflect in your consideration to pack it in here, that is damaging to this Web site. And I hope you don't stop posting your stories.

Perhaps at some point the Web site administrators will wake up to the reality that the very nature of their contests (especially the survivor contest) and how they are run and voted is doing the opposite of what they seem to be trying to do--rather than enhancing the story collection, it is driving away the better quality stories/authors from the Web site and encouraging piles of dreck, backbiting, and bad feelings.

I agree that your suggestion for constructing nominee lists as at least a partial step in a better direction.

At times amused, and at times just sad at everything that's being said.

It saddens me too, MF. But the Literotica site admin don't seem to be in any particular hurry to do anything about it. Don't get me wrong, I love that Lit exists, I love that it's provided me with a place to showcase my stories. But recent events have clearly demonstrated that Laurel and Manu have no desire to moderate the Literotica forum. They could've stepped in many times over the last couple of years but have apparently chosen not to. Whether that's to do with the whole 'free speech' thing, I have no idea - but I've been shocked to the core by some of the posts I've witnessed here in the last few months.

My personal opinion is that Lit should do away with the contest thingy all together. I do think there are too many flaws in the entire process altogether as it now stands.

I quite agree. And not just here in the yearly awards, but also in the monthly awards too. The 'sweeps' make a mockery of the whole system. They supposedly wipe out fraudulant votes, but my God, if I'd really gone to all the trouble of cheating to the extent that Literotica's so-called 'sweep' implied, I'd have had to have spent several days and nights creating alts and finding new ISP addresses.

This might work. It would certainly be a better system than the one currently in place. There's no way that you should be able to cheat your way to a prize.

I am seriously considering not writing here any more, especially if its degenerating into this kind of ongoing discussion and hate mongering. That's not why (Most of us anyway) came here to begin with now is it?

I've thought about that too. But at the end of the day, I don't see why we should be driven away by the bullies in the school playground. I've encountered some wonderful people as a direct result of being a part of this site. Those are the people who keep me writing here.

QUOTE LAUREL :cattail: Post #1 Hello, and welcome to the 10th Annual Literotica Reader's Choice Awards. Please use this thread to discuss the nominees and the contest itself. Please do not post your opinions on the voting threads themselves. Thanks, and Happy Voting!

Why don’t all you AHers put down your knifes for one day and do as the QUEEN :cattail: asked? That is – “use this thread to discuss the nominees and the contest itself.”

You forgot a name on that list. You know who I'm referring to. Many people have tried to discuss the contest and the nominees. You two have turned it into a hate fest. You seem to be seeing who can out do the other with insults and racists remarks.

I’m james r scouries and I believe its time for a little integrity around here…

As I said before, you first. How about telling the truth about EVERYTHING, including the fact that you don't make a dime writing for this site?

Dolphins would love to see any AHer express an intelligent opinion…

Another insult. Only this time you insulted an entire forum. How is this keeping the thread on topic? Yeah, setting a good example there, scouries.

Nice try, bitch. I had one (1) vote last Saturday as a matter of fact. Meow meow.

Congrats on having 50 votes for Best Incest Story when you only have 7 public comments, 5 of which are anonymous.

Girlfriend, you really need a cover on that story to get the public comments you so bitchly deserve.

That's really nice:rolleyes: but it still doesn't explain how you and scouries have the same 163 isp addresses

Pick a category – any category and give us your opinion.

Or give us your suggestions for making the contest better.

Yes, you people! You've all posted here. Instead of scouries lets make the stories the center of attention for today. You’ve all posted here – now lets hear your views on the actual contest. Remember, LAUREL :cattail: is watching!

Dear Mr. Scouries,
Thanks so much for the free advertising of my name. I appreciate all the attention I can get with the Nude Day Contest just days away. Which is exactly the subject that I have already talked about on this thread. Marketing!

Its all about selling your product and getting your name out there for someone to notice and buy it. Not that we are actually selling anything. It's a free site, but maybe for a few good writers, they are getting noticed and perhaps some monetary gain has come out of starting out as a Lit writer.

You will all have to agree that the votes were all just sitting there doing nothing until all this chatter began on this thread. I still would like to see a little more PEE-ZAZZ on that home page.

And, if anyone wants to PM me with instructions on how to shorten up these lenghthy quotes, I'm half-way teachable.

I am Yours Sinserely, Babs
