There is NO truth to the rumour that I helped transcribe the 'Domesday Book' for William the Conqueror! (neither my Norman French, nor my Latin, is THAT good, although I feel old enough)

However, words used to be my stock-in-trade, and I think I should have followed my brother's lead in choice of career!
