Lovin' life as a tomboy!

In second grade the boys would chant, "we hate the girls, except for Cecelia." I considered myself a boy, and thus didn't have "cooties."

I turned out to be more or less straight (my very hip 15 year old daughter sez I'm a Kinsey 2.5) but I've continued to feel very androgynous my whole long life. Sexual preference and gender identification (which in itself seems to have multiple components: how you present yourself, who you feel like inside, etc) are different things, for sure. Which was very confusing to me when I was younger.

I'm pretty darn sure that tomboys are

1) more fun
2) hotter

but maybe my bf has brainwashed me.

Why are they called Tomboy's? Seems a wee bit redundantly masculine. Sueboys or Tomgirl...... or woman who fails to adhere to the stereotyped role.

I have always liked renaissance women.... one's who are surely female and open to things of their choosing regardless of what common gender roles dictate. These women have the mindset and confidence to color outside the lines and that is someone worth knowing.
