Do you compete with your partner?

LOL!

I never believe anyone isn't very ticklish, you just have to find the right places and provide the right kind of tickling!

That's the problem! You have to tickle him just right, in a very particular spot that's not easy to get to. Whereas I'm ticklish everywhere, so, yeah. Still not a fair fight.

Right now my PYL and I are in a weight loss competition. We weigh in every two weeks. It's been fun, but better than that we have lost a total of over 30lbs since Dec. He absolutely hates to lose, so it's fun when he does. :) The agreement used to be that whoever won gets one thing that the other has to do. Well, duh, he gets whatever he wants whether he wins or loses anyway. So we changed it to when i win he has to do something I want. If he wins than I don't get to make a request.

Other than that we don't tend to compete, we both are rather competitive. Which can get tricky.

My online D's favorite analogy is the big kid on the playground who's holding back the little kid with one hand on the little kid's forehead while the little kid flails madly trying to hit the big kid. You can guess which kid I am in that scenario.:D

Totally relatable!

:D

ETA: OH geez, and I just remembered when we were both taking our Rescue Diver course and we had to do simulated rescues of a person in active panic. One partner had to be the panicker and one the rescuer. Let's just say we took "panic" to new heights - kicking, slapping, pulling off the other person's mask, trying to push them under water, etc. The instructor stared at us like we'd lost our minds. Tee hee.

Hilarious!

Hilarious!

Yeah, it was pretty funny, even to us. BUT...the reality is, if you're dealing with someone, in open water, in active panic, that's exactly how they will behave.

We actually got to have a "real" fight on a show once. Absolutely beating the shit out of each other. That was AWESOME! (My character won, BTW :D).

I've got my open water certification, but since I only ever use it on vacations I've never thought of taking it further. Do you enjoy it?

*See beneath my name, on left, for a clue. ;)

Diving = best thing in the world next to my hubby.

Yeah, we're both Dive Masters and fishaholics. I think it's tough to really get into it when you only maybe do a few dives a year...skills get rusty and you can't relax as much. I would highly, highly reccomend the Rescue Diver course, though. We were both experienced divers, with rescue and first aid skills, before we took the course and afterward we were blown away to discover how much we didn't know. I felt so, so, so much more confident after I finished.

*Apologies for thread hijack!

ETA: Unless you're a Brit, in which case your basic diver certification is probably just as good as a PADI Dive Master.

Ha! I see! I live in Texas, so definitely not British. You'd recommend it even with irregular diving? That's a lot of what would hold me back. Why bother if you're not going to use it much? As a nurse though I'm always interested in applying my medical/rescue knowledge to a new area...

Side note: I got my youngest brother a kayak for Christmas, he has that crazy happy face your av has on the water. I'm trying to prod him into joining the coast guard.

I have a very good friend in Texas! (I'm in BC, in the People's Republic of Canada).

Yeah, I think you'd get something out of it, for sure. You're not far from Florida, you could plan a week in Key Largo, do the Rescue course and a bunch of other dives at the same time. Way fun. There are some cool wrecks and stuff out there and the water is nice and warm.

And key lime pie...yum!

ETA: Kayaking pic was taken in Baja. I was paddling back from a swim with some wild dolphins, hence the grin.

I'll have to look into it. I'm planning a trip to Harry Potter in Orlando, so maybe a side trip is in order.

I have family in Victoria, BC. It's lovely. :) Not quite as warm as it is here.
