I know, I'm a guy and guys hate to shop. In fact I've been enjoying buying clothes on the internet which means I avoid stores completely. But I go shopping with a women friend and am amazed at how she can spend huge amounts of time trying on clothes.

Do you enjoy going shopping for clothes or is it a burden?

i hate clothes shopping.... half the time when i do go, i dont even know what size clothes i wear. and since i go by myself, it takes even longer to try and guess what size will fit. and i'm really picky when it comes to what i wear so its even more of a pain in the butt

I know a guy who LOVES to shop for clothes and whenever we go out he'll try on one thing after another and ask me how it looks on him. I, on the other hand, spend hour at the mall but that's only because I'm absent minded and wander from store to store pondering life.

You sound like me. I wander about, occasionally following my woman friend, but not because I'm excited about shopping. People watching and musing about life seem worthwhile ways of passing time while she's shopping. But then I'm not a clothes horse. So long as what I wear is comfortable, and clean, I'm pretty happy. I know what colors work for me, so I stay with those. The less shopping for clothes I do, the happier I am.

I hate to shop for clothes. And clothes shopping with friends? Forget it. I'll end up with nothing.

I like the changing room esp. if I have the "help" of a certain laddie.

Burden. That's why got created catalogs and the Internet. I shop online and have stuff mailed to me.

I hate clothes shopping, and I hate the mall even more.

I hate shopping for clothes, dresses in general. There are so many other things I'd rather be doing than trying on dress after dress only to realize that beautiful dress I saw on the rack looks better on the rack.

I don't mind going for clothes shopping actually, as long as it's not with a woman who will take absolutely ages. Nomally I go shopping with a few friends, so usuys can go off and do our own thing while the girls spend 2 hours in the same shop looking for bargain!

I've found it is much more fun(and a lot quicker) to get a women out of the clothes she just bought then for her to buy them.

That's an interesting theory. Care to start a study to prove it?:D

It just dawned on me as I read this thread that I do enjoy some shopping. I enjoy shopping at Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel. I also love to browse in hardware stores.

If you don't like shopping for clothes, are there other kinds of shopping that give you pleasure?

Malls give me the willies.... <shiver>

I love hardware stores. I can spend hours wandering around, finding neat little tools and gadgets. I don't know why. I used to be in construction, but home improvement is strictly a spectator sport these days. :)

I spent a couple of years building an addition on my home and became very adept at searching out creative solutions to problems while staring at pieces of pipe, or brackets or whatever. Hardware stores are places of endless fascination for me. And I don't blame you for avoiding it at home if you've done it at work.

...Also, shopping for neat kitchen supplies can be oh so fun. However, I don't get to use them often anymore, so I rarely buy any gadgets these days...

Boy, oh boy do I agree with you. I don't know whether its similar to my fascination with carpentry tools, but I love searching out kitchen devices of all sorts. I bought a set of Wustof knives that are my pride and joy. They were a wonderful investment in having pleasure preparing food. I don't use a food processor, though I have a medium size Cuisinart because I get so much pleasure simply cutting things with my 6" cooks knife.

I learned while building an addition to my home, how important it is to have the right tool. It can make all the differene in being able to end up with a quality product without killing oneself or spending hours of frustration trying to solve a problem. The same is true in the kitchen.

So, lets go shopping at Crate and Barrel! Or even better, Williams & Sonoma.

On those rare occasions when I venture into a department store or mall for clothes, I have an idea before I go in what I'm there to buy. I find it, buy it and leave.

On the other hand, like a couple of the other fellows, I can spend hours in Lowe's or Home Depot. My wife says I'm like one on the Sears commercials they showed here where the guys were playing with all the power tools.

Just a good old Kentucky Redneck, keep away from my truck and my tool box and we will get along just fine.

So maybe you should drop over and cheer Mistress up, though your wife might not appreciate your efforts. ;)

And how come I haven't read about you and KM swapping stories about your trucks. I think you should start a thread about love affairs with trucks. Man, I wish I had a pickup truck. :)

I don't really like shopping for clothes. I know what sizes I wear, so when I do go buy something, it's fairly quick. And I shop sales mostly.

Books, on the other hand! Oh, I can spend hours in a bookstore. Just looking, and reading. And Best Buy is a very dangerous place for me! I might come out of there flat broke. LOL

I just noticed your signature line and it broke me up! I'll second that recommendation.

And bookstores are incredibly seductive for me too! I especially enjoy used book stores where I can pour over old editions and find great deals.

Umm, thanks. :) Hey, you wanna go to a book store together and stand around fondling and smelling...umm, books? ;)

I do in fact know a bookstore with lots of nooks and crannies where we might fondle and sniff...

But I need to be careful. Noting your post count you must be a really experienced woman who could take advantage of me. You wouldn't do that would you? http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/funny/naughty.gif
