Do you have a goals or a bucket list?

not really at this point. I have mini goals but mainly I am in survival mode and to some extent my life is not currently my own. I am in 24/7 care taker mode.

I've been rollerblading for a few years now and have been scared to try any "tricks" that you see skaters doing at skate parks. I mostly trail skate but have been looking up YouTube videos recently to learn a few moves. First is a crossover turn to help with turning while gaining speed.

I love to roll, but a fitness/distance rather than urban/trick skater. A little over 1,000 KM/650 miles last year between the end of one winter an the start of the next.

I am mostly a distance skater as well. I need to log my miles this year, I haven't kept track in the past. So far since it's warmed up here I've gotten about 45 miles in.

Well done! I'm still waiting for the street sweepers to pull the last of the winter sand off the road sides (that stuff can kill ya!). Itching to get out!

Haha I know, one walnut on the trail and I'm doomed! Hope you get out soon! I'd be interested knowing what kind of skates you have.

Yup...in the early spring here it's the sand, then in Sept/Oct the acorns (and occasional suicidal squirrel or chipmunk). I have Rollerblade Tempest 110's. Have a few years on them now and gone through a couple sets of wheels, but they're fine for what I do. I'm actually more of a cross country roller skier than pure skater. I used to work in the XC ski industry and kind of mourned the passing of the snow every spring. The last several years have actually been really crappy for snow conditions locally, so I put road tips on my skate-ski poles a few years back and do this from April - Oct. Unfortunately, when the clocks change in Oct, there's not enough daylight in the pre-and post work day hours to get in a full "roll". Screen Shot 2023-04-18 at 10.10.13 AM.png

Sorry to hear the snow conditions suck. The groomed trails are still wonderful for skating, here. And, crust skiing up the hill is awesome in the mornings.

Watch the Dutch speedskaters!

Maybe that's why I turn left better than right......

Wow, 110s are big wheels! I have three wheeled K2 skates with 90s on them and I thought those were tall lol. That picture looks like fun! If I lived especially in a hilly region those poles would come in handy on the trails.

Interesting! I'll have to look up some videos.

The 110's are noticeably better at absorbing cracks, bumps, and all that other stuff that tends to rattle your teeth. I did have to buy longer poles when I went from K2's with 80 mm wheels. Took a little adjusting to get used to the slightly higher center of gravity...the first few strides, I looked like a giraffe on ice - ha, ha.
