Oh no, YOU can post in this thread, it's only me that can't - that is IF I let Wanderer scare me off. Which is totally not going to happen!

The YKYSFW is the You Know Your Sexually Frustrated When thread.... it can be very fun and funny - but seeing as you had sex last Friday I decided you are disqualified!! lol

No way! (can't let you off that easy.... lol)

I think you are being misunderstood, perhaps your opening tone was taken to be attacking but I think I understand what you are getting at. I've been reading the book Caught in the Net about recognizing Internet addiction and strategies for recovery. Internet addiction really is no laughing matter.

I know I came dangerously close to that line, probably even pushed the line too. I know the net can be addictive and then Lit. just adds to the 'charm'. Lit is a very interesting place and probably could have been a virtual gold mine for Freud and others but there is something about this place....

There are great people here, the reasons we are here are as numerous as the posters and readers. The interaction is amazing and the friendships and relationships are real. I've met some of the people here and am so glad for the friendships.

But your point is well taken, there is the strangeness of 'doing online' versus being out in the world. For me it was/is something to consider seriously. I have found a balance and it is much better for me. The interaction I have with friends here is enhanced by my time not spent here. I have more experiences out in the 'concrete and mortar' world to bring to my online life.

The Internet is here to stay (oh horrors!), and I have come to find that there isn't a real life vs. online life for me. Both have found their place in my life - the whole of my life.

Welcome to Lit. Shall I give you the usual welcoming virtual pamphlet? ;)

You make an interesting and valid point I certainly appreciate your effort, I suppose though, in a way, I was being confrontational to see how important it was to people, some may want to call me an asshole, that's up to them, I don't actually care what people think.

The internet is both good and evil in equal quantaties and as you said yourself, the internet is here to stay and as you also suggested it is a form of addiction (I'm still typing at 9am) so of course I find it seductive in the way ecstasy was in the 80's. I thoroughly enjoyed being "an asshole" I even enjoyed the bitchiness of some of the clan, do I need treatment? but I remain a cynic, (a birth rite of the English) but contrary to some peoples idea of me, I do have a sense of humour.

I'm not sure what a "pamphlet" is, but go ahead.

and thankyou for reducing my cynicism a notch
