Dom lessons in here! No subbies allowed.

Cool. Make that cookies and coffee... I have a day of potty-training my two-year-old ahead of me.

Okay, so clearly none of the subs are down with wine and cookies. Maybe that was a bad idea. Captain and Diet and cookies? Anyone? Bueller?

*arrives late with cookies and wine*

How's the day potty training going?

Graceanne! I just saw this just now! And happy birthday, by the way! We need CAKE and wine!

The potty training went quite well, thanks for asking. We're still having random occasional accidents, but I'm pretty proud of her overall!

Dude. My birthday means we need margaritas and chocolate covered cherries.

And congrats on the potty training. :nana:

Do you mind me asking how old your munchkin is subish? My P is 18 months and I'm thinking about starting to potty train her over the summer. Was thinking it would be easier to get into the habit of going to the potty when she is running around in just a diaper so I can put her on it faster. Tips would be appreciated! :D Congrats on getting yours trained.

She's 28 months. This was our third attempt. I think it finally worked partially because she was ready this time, and partially because I pulled out some hard-core bribes, including a bike! It worked, though!

Oh, god, tequila last night...bad idea...

*snugs everyone*

yay for potty training working at last! I hope that it sticks and she doesn't lose the knack.

Thanks! No, it seems to be a permanent thing. It's awesome.

Hey, and my kitchen remodel is done, which means I have a kitchen again, which means we should have a cupcake party! What drink goes well with cupcakes? Coffee and Kahlua or Irish cream or something?

I like the bribes! lol...Mine's only 18 months and I haven't even started trying to train her yet. She seems interested in the potty but not enough to actually tell me when she needs to be changed most of the time yet so I don't think she's ready. Still she's got her own little one in the bathroom and she loves flushing the big one so I'm hoping that by the end of the summer I'll have her trained and be able to really cut back on buying diapers lol.

ETA: Right now the big thing is her learning to go to sleep without her pacifier. It's a challenge but she's learning because I was just evil and threw the thing away. I knew if I kept it around I'd break down and give it back to her.

I remember being bribed into cutting up my pacifier. That was a dark, dark day in the life of me.

When my sister was three, mom bought her a package of plugs (that's what we call pacifiers) and told her this was the last package she was buying, ever. The first two plugs went as quickly as ever (literally in days), but that last pacifier lasted over a month. LOL

Whenever she starts to go pick her up and rush her to the litterbox so she will associate the litter box as the place to do the business but you also have to punish her if she goes and doesn't use the box.

Pooping in the box = good
Pooping not in the box = bad

lol...I didn't briber her, I just tossed it. She's doing really well without it too, much better than I had anticipated.

Ummmmmmmmm... Bett sweetie, P is a child not a cat lol.

I know.. if it were a cat I'd have said to rub her lil nose in the poo on the carpet and swat her butt at the same time then put her in the litterbox and pet her a lil so she has a positive association with the box.

Isn't the litterbox the stage before the training toilet?

This might prove difficult o_O

*grabs an irish cream coffee and cookies*

Yeah, I don't know if even Betticus is up for training an inanimate object. This could be a loooooongggg process. You're going to need more nourishment than just cookies. At LEAST two irish coffees. ;)

Trying to get me nice and drunk off baileys? :p
Proceed!
*grabs another coffee*

I had the best cocktail that was Baileys and vodka and some kind of chocolate liqueur. Strong as hell, but delicious.
