Dragon Wars Ii

'Something isn't right here...'

"Dragon slayers... War against humans and dragon. Somebody must be behind this, and to be honest... I don't actualy think that the trans are that smart to do such an thin-" Spar was cut short when his ears picked up something. "Trans... They found us. They must have caught the scent of our prisoner or something."

Spar turned and knelt before the little girl. "Hey, do me an favor... Go back into the bushes and don't come out, hear me?" The girl nodded nervously. "Go, now!"

The little girl nodded and ran back into the thick bushes, leaveing Spar and Sylvia alone, fr the moment at least. "I'm sick of this," Spar muttered, the expression on his face cold. He pulled out his sword, ready to cut the trans' in two with out hesitation.

Sylvia

I conjured my morning star once more and pulled the flask of visibilty potion from my pouch. Taking a swig I tossed it to Spar as I grimaced over the taste.
Suddenly, my vision was sharper and I could see them- dead ahead of us,not bothering to hide, three of them, just coming right on up, crashing through the brush happy as you please. Idiots.
I saw from the corner of my Spar take a drink and toss the flask aside. Didn't bother me by the end of this I'd have more carcasses to make more from.
Time for my blood bath I thought as I called out to Spar. "Parn," I said, changing the name to keep from being identified. "There's something coming- the wind spirits tell me its not good! We elves know such things! Get ready!"

"Yes Aura," Spar replied, keeping Sylvia's real name an secret. "I feel something comming too!" Spar readied his blade, the closes dragon was thrashing through the trees so carelessly, Spar didn't even need the potion to know where it was comming.

One trans was about 5 feet ahead of the other two, wich made it an easy target for an quick kill. "For dragons, they're pretty supid, don't you think?" Spar asked before swinging his sword, throwing the first trans off balance and crashing to the ground.

Yevgenni

Yevgenni was quickly ushered into the throne room. He bowed before the two kings. "My Kings. I have wonderful news. These dragon slayers are the real thing. They have made very powerful engines of destruction. I was present when they used one to take a dragon right out of the sky. Then the men went into the forest, brazenly going to kill the dragon by hand. I think these are just the men that could lead an attack on the dragons. That way neither of you would be placed in danger. What do you think? "

King MacKenzie looked at his man. "Yevgenni, I think you are right. This could be just what we have been looking for. If one of us led the army and were killed , the other would be in a position to take over the kingless kingdom. This way someone else can take the risks. Bring the men back before me, excuse me US, when they are done. We will convince them to take the men. Now go . " King MacKenzie smiled at his fellow liege as their plan came to fruition.

Sylvia

I laughed, the sound tinkling through the clearing with an effect much like a stunning spell. "Oh, that's insulting. All trans' are inherantly stupid!"
I brought my morning star down on the shoulder of the one closest to me, blood splattering all around me. The fluid scaleded my skin and I could taste it on my tongue already.
"Ti'iara be with me!" I screamed, launching myself at the Trans I'd choosen while Spar delt with his.
I leapt onto the beast's back, taking a slice to my leg, not caring, bashing the holy morning star into its jaw. I heard a sickening crack and the dragon screamed in rage and pain. I laughed delightedly as I taunted it.
"Aw, poor little dragon getting killed by a half-elvin female? Come and get some!"
The thing charged again, as if to bowl me over. I smiled- predictable. I stepped to the side, bringing my morning star around to slam into its hind leg, hamstringing it. Another blow punched a huge hole in its wing. With its jaw and two of four legs out of commision, it was pretty helpless at the moment. Spar had made easy work of his and converged together on the biggest of the three.

"Hey, leave a little blood for me!" Spar said in an joking tone. He didn't even notice the second dragon ramming right into him from behind. Spar flew to the ground, sliding.

"Oh... so that how you wanna play like that, huh?!" Spar stood up and spat out the blood from his mouth. "Then lets play like that!" The trans rubbed its right foot into ground, then ran straight torwards Spar. Spar quickly moved out of the way and let the trans hit the tree behind him. He then cut off its left wing so it couldn't fly.

"Come on! You're starting to bore me here!"

Sylvia

"Only after I'm full," I said with a laugh, taking out the biggest one's other wing. It screamed and shrieked, blood pouring all over the clearing. A quickly erected barrier kept it from the child but that got me reqarded with a tail to the stomach, knocking me backward.
I gasped for breath, getting angry now. I threw the morning star at the beasts head, sinking the blades into its flesh.
"Now I'm mad," I growled at it, taking its attention away from Spar. I ran my hands over my arms, covering them in blood. "With the blood of your breathren, I call your own! With the blood of those you hold dear, I demand your own! BLEED!"
Blood began to pour from every wound on the trans, filling the clearing, flowing around the barrier. And still it bleed, the spell fueled by the power of its own blood untill there wasn't a drop left in the beast. I pulled the remainder of the power of the monster into myself, replenishing my natural supply by licking the blood from my fingers.
I ripped my mace from its fallen head and slammed it down again, cracking the skull and ending the dragon's life.
I walked to the one Spar had injured for mine was useless now, covered in a haze of blood and violence.
"Now, care to tell me if there are any more of you near by?"
As I spoke, the blood on my skin was absorbed in, leaving me clean and polished looking, glowing slightly. "Well, care to talk?"

The trans thrashed around wildly, obviously it didn't want to talk, and it was desperately trying to flee. Spar wasn't as patient as Sylvia was, and carefully pressed the blade into the dragons throat.

"You know... I made this sword especialy to destroy rock beast... So its pretty strong. But I always wondered if it could slice into an dragon. And if so how fast?" Spar's evil smile became sadistic. "Now talk!"

Rimuldar Gloomfaust

::Rimuldar, Chong Po, and Tultimar raced through the forest, searching for the fallen dragon. Chong Po was sure that the fall from such a height would have wounded the dragon, and Tultimar added that with the forest as dense as this one the dragon was most likely impaled on a tree.

Soon the three of them reached The dragon. It was wounded from the fall as it hit the ground and took out a fifty yards long patch of trees. It was howling in pain as it thrashed itself on the ground attempting to stand on broken limbs. Its wings beat fiercely at the ground, but the holes from the bolts made it impossible to collect air.

They all drew their weapons as they approached, and Rimuldar circled until he was face to face with the dragon. He started to speak to the dragon, but his words sounded more like a series of growls and grumbles. To humans he was speaking dragon, but the three in the clearing and the fallen dragon understood every word.::

Thank you for unknowingly volunteering yourself for my cause. It is because of you and your unfortunate friend that I will be able to gain control of a human army. Again, I thank you...

::Rimuldar's sword raised high in the air and with a single slash, the dragon's head was separated from its body. Blood sprayed in all directions some landing on the three of them before the body thrashed a few more times then came to rest.::

We will send men to come and retrieve the scales as they will be made into armour and shields. We will need more of these kills to equip our army....

Rheamus Barren

I jerked into a sitting position, my head throbbing and the room spinning still. A sudden rush of sound from outside, polluting the room. I had to get up and see what was happening outside.
Damn humans and their drinking games, I thought, but there was no denying the effectiveness of fitting in with them, in thier own world. The men had shared at least some info, and that was something. I also learned something much more important. The men building the machines, and many of the townspeople here, knew very little of the actual world outside their city here. It was information I already knew, but when you travelled, saw parts of the world, it was easy ot forget that people existed who knew only a small part of it, who listened to the words of others to formulate opinions of the world outside.
And that's what they'd done. Listened, and formulated. What else could they do, but believe those who told them that dragons were evil. They were ready to fight, but only because they believed it was right, not because they were evil. They believed they were defending themselves. I'd known this, of course, but meeting them face-to-face, seeing the child in the street with her father and Garnus and Mendel at the tavern last night had brought it into perspective. They would do what they felt they had to to protect themselves. We needed to understand that, or else we might let our own hatreds blind us.
Hatred has blinded you before, Rheamus, the voice insisted. Don't forget that...
I hadn't.
When I got to the window, I saw groups of soldiers lined up near the gates and in set positions at the towers and along the walls. Dragons were near it seemed.
I staggered toward the door, then made a point of checking for my sword before continuing out into the street. The sound made my head pound harder, but I pushed forward anyway, fighting my way through crowds of people. As I moved further down, heading toward the gates, the ruckus began to lessen, but voices were shouting back to the others.
A man, dressed formally, hurried toward me. I guessed him to be of some fairly major importance, as the humans between he and I, while pushing against each other, all stepped aside and allowed him to pass by, unbumped or touched.
Save for me, that is. I managed to walk head on into him, striking our heads together, making mine throb mercilessly.
I staggered backward some, groaning loudly.
He staredback at me, his hand on his forehead, his eyes angry.
I looked up, in too much agony to be apologetic. He looked back, obviously not used to being halted by a stranger.
"If you don't mind, I'm on my way to see the kings..." He hurried past me, still rubbing his head. i wondered if it'd leave a mark.
As I started forward again, a man clapped me on the shoulder, getting my attention. I glanced at him, seeing another soldier, this one red-haired and smiling beneath freckled cheeks.
"Don't imagine you're on Yevgenni's favorite's list right about now," he said, laughing.
I furrowed my brow, aching too much to be concerned. He misunderstood my look for that, it seemed.
"Shouldn't worry. he's not so bad, or so I hear, just in a hurry to tell the kings."
"Tell the Kings...?"
"The hunters, they've brought down two dragons. A succuss for humankind," he clapped me on the shoulder again, and anger began to well inside. Odd, given that I'd never really felt a companionship toward other dragons.
It could be us someday, rheamus, the voice stated, and I finally agreed with it.
I needed to find Selwen. We needed to get out of here, and soon.

The transparent prisoner

The trans tried to focus behind the pain. It realized that its life was probably over. These dragons were angry enough to probably bite him to death. His master would be angry if the dragons arrived at the human settlement before time, so he decided on another route.

"Ok, I will tell you. Our master has sent us with some Orc's to destroy a Dwarven Settlement. The elves have been eliminated and the humans are no threat to us. The dwarves are another thing altogether. The dwarven settlement is not even a full days flight from here. In exchange for my life, I will guide you there. "

Sylvia

"This one's your call, Parn. I care not if we reach the bakery or not," I said honestly, well if you knew what I was talking about it was honest.
I ran a hand over the air above the trans, absorbing the blood beneath, drying its skin a bit. "Though a trans guide- how many prisoners do we need? Could offer the other one up to the humans- that's be nice, wouldn't it?"

"I dunno..." Spar said, standing up yet he still had his sword pointed at the trans' throat. "An trans giving us information? Something smells a tad bit fishy here." Spar's mind battled with three choices.

  • Kill the trans, and head on out to the colony.
  • Let the humans have fun with it.
  • Let the trans guide them.
    [/list=a]

  • "Well I'm stumped... Personally I think it would be fun to see my fellow humans torture this sucker for a bit. But it may be a bad move, I'm not very good at making decisions... What do you wanna do?"

"Well, seeing as we have two, can can do both A and B!"
Spar looked at me. "Remember- got that other one we caught sleeping in the bushes over there."
"Oh yeah," Spar said.
"So we force senior psychopath here into a humanoid form, march both there happy butts into town and give them the one that's lying, use the one that's telling the truth to lead us to these dwaves. Sound good?"

Spar's smile widened "Yeah... That could work... That could work just fine!" Spar put his sword back in his scabber, relizing that the trans was way too weak to escape. "But wait, are you sure you're up to focefully transforming another one of them? I mean, you just recovered not too long ago."

The transparent prisoner

Kuthelis watched with interest as the two dragons decided what to do. He realized that these dragons were in no way as blood thirsty as his master. His master would have killed them both just for the sake of watching their blood pool on the forest floor. Kuthelis waved goodbye to his fellow trans as the dragons had decided to give him as a sacrific. Kuthelis was glad it was the other trans and not him. It was every dragon for himself at this point, part of the transparent dragon creed. Only a strong master such as theirs could have forged such disparate elements into a fighting force.

Kort stood there, his sword out, ready. Poised. It shook with as much anticipation as he did, sweating out the blue steel that had forged it into its masterpiece.
"You forgot one..." He spat, looking at the kill, watching the blood spill from the dragon, rape the land with its death. Kort could only imagine what they had done to him before he arrived.
Nothing would happen afterwards though... not a damned thing.
"Come on then..." growling, with something other than hatred in his heart, something that borded on rage, "We've got unfinished business to do."
With that, he charged one, slicing high into the air.

Selwen

Selwen followed the three men into the woods, his trained feet making no noise on the moist forest floor. Selwen arrived just as the men cut off the head of the dragon. Selwen looked away as he saw the life blood of a dragon spill onto the earth. Selwen wished that he could get involved, but his orders were explicit. He was to observe and report back to Canth. As he was about to return to the city, he heard a large man yell from the opposite side of the clearing. Selwen watched in wonder as this man , with his sword high, attacked the dragonslayers.

Sylvia

I spun in a circle, smiling. "I can easily do it. Last time I was tired from making the potion, hadn't had enough blood around me to take power from. But now- oh with two dying dragons to take power from and what I've taken already from this one, I'm fine."
Spar looked surprised. "Remember- I'm a Priestess of a blood goddess- of course its one of my external power sourses."
I laid a hand on the trans and thrust my magic into him, ripping through his body, screaming through his veins untill he lay before me, human shapped and curled in a quivering naked ball.
I swayed on my feet for a moment before steadying myself. "Spar- tie him up, would ya? I'm hungry."
I set off to the trans with its broken jaw to feed, trusting Spar would take care of the mewling one behind me.

Kuthelis

Kuthelis could feel the power surge through him as the dragon fed her power through him. He tried to concentrate on what they were saying. A priestess of a blood goddess........hmmmmm that did not sound promising. Suddenly Kuthelis felt his strength drain out as he was forced into human shape. His weakened limbs betrayed him as he fell to the ground. He did not resist as the smaller dragon came towards him.

Sylvia

I smiled wickedly at the dragon before me, my elvin hips swinging as I walked. It would have almost been seductive if I hadn't been covered in blood and seeking more.
My fingers curved into claws that I raked down the trans side, feeding from the heat, the fire of the blood within. I would later surmise that Trans dragons held more magic in thier skin then we normal dragons did. Thier ability to become transparant lie in special skin cels that used a lot of magic, so when cut superficially they leaked a lot of magic. A lot.
I fed on the magic, pushing it through my body to fill every cel of my own, forcing the extra along the lines that connected Kort to me and I to him. I caught a flash of him attacking men dressed as dragon slayers, saw through his eyes his skin begin to glow with red fire. A scary sight indeed he must be, my dragon friend. I gave him the knowledge to control the power I'd given him before leaving him to his battle and falling back into myself.
I was flat on my but, the dragon before me dead.
I looked at my hands, soaked in blood, slightlly prunish with the damp. "Is there anywhere to bathe around here?"

Rimuldar Gloomfaust

::The shout came from behind him and he turned in time to see the man enter the clearing and proclaim that they had forgotten one dragon. Chong Po and Tultimar, quickly held their weapons ready, but Rimuldar just staired at the man a moment.::

A dragon in the form of a human then? I've heard of such things, but i didnae believe them until now.

::Chong Po and Tultimar each snickered at the statement, but neither moved yet. However that would soon change as the man charged them ready to strike. The sounds of swords meeting echoed throught the forest as the three of them set on battle, Chong Po, Tultimar and the strangier engaged in a ferocious battle. Rimuldar however stood back and watched the enraged dragon as he -in human form- wielded his weapon as if it were his talons or fire breath, Both Chong Po and Tultimar having a touch time parrying and delfecting blows.::

Kort didn't know how to fight with a sword, or with a human. He had been trained as a dragon, grew up as a dragon, lived as a dragon. All of his experience was taken from a dragon's stance, from a dragon's life, but still, his power for the blade, his very fuel was raged from that dragon part.
When he wanted to bite, his sword came down hard on one of the men's shields, when he wanted his tail to deflect a hit, the sword parried a deafening blow. It moved almost of its own accord, as he fought like a dragon, his human body in turn manipulated it to destroy in the human form.
Blood, some his own, and some from his foes, was beginning to spill over them all. Kort grew mad with it, licking it from his salty lips, letting them see his stained sharpened teeth, that would gladly have ripped their bones straight from their bodies.
In a bull rush, he watched one fall down, hoping to slice him easily down the neck, but the other one already moved in for the attack, defending his friend.
Kort watched the third just stand there, watching, waiting, almost sizing up his fighting stance and stamina. He huffed a growl, and moved in for the kill, his foot cleanly on the one on the ground, keeping him there, while he fought the other...

"There's one thaty way," Spar muttered as he knelt on the now humanoid trans. He pulled out some rope from his sack and wraped it around his arms, then wraped its arms around its body. Spar then tied the trans' legs together.

"That should do it." Spar stood up and wiped splattered blood off of his face. Know ing that the two prisoners weren't going any where, he looked the way Sylvia went, then looked at his clothing, covered in putrid, transparent dragon's blood. 'I'm gonna have ta wash these again...' Spar sighed as pulled himself up on a strong tree branch nearby and leaned against the tree itself. "I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever get back to the colony."
