Echoes of Mankind IC

Drel Walker

Drel grunted softly at her question, glancing around. Then his hands began to undress her, lips followibng to caress exposed skin. Hif orm hands massaged at her body, enjoying her feminine curves.

"Does it matter, Kitka? Does anything matter, besides us, right now?"

His lips pressed eagerly to her as he slipped her out of the alien garments. He shifted, and tossed their 'clothes' to the floor pulling her into his embrace.

"We can worry about the lights later, love."

Kitka

The moment that Drell's hands moved over her, slipping the shimmering cloth from her, her scientific half slipped away and her womanly half emerged, her skin tingling with his touch.

"No," She whispered as she willingly moved against him, molding her body to his,"Nothing matters but this."

Lifting her face toward him, searching for his lips in the darkness, she let her hands began to roam and explore his body, caressing along muscles and flesh, a soft sigh coming from her as her mouth found her goal and everything else around them disappeared from her mind.

Drel Walker

Drel didn't see a reason to hurry. He and Kitka took things slow, ignoring the world as they sought and discovered what pleasures they could get from one another. Drel, knowing it was Kitka's first time, made sure it was a memorable.

When finally they both collapsed, unable to go on, Drel wrapped his arms around her, pulling her tight against him and showering her with kisses.

"So, once we get back on ship, will we be sharing quarters?"

His hands slid across skin her knew well, wishing to keep the moment forever. That and hoping no one was going to burst through the doors now that they'd finally settled in for the night...

Kitka

Kitka couldn't believe how gentle Drell was in his love making. It was almost impossible to think of the passion he had for weapons as he took her to heights she had never imagined.

When they were laying side by side, her leg over his thigh, her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat trying to regain a steady rythm, she sighed and then caught her breath at his question.

Tears almost came to her eyes as she realized that Drell was not going to take her to bed and then smile, thank her and head for the next conquest.

Burying her face in his chest she kissed him there and nodded happily, a slight laugh coming to her lips.

"Do you want to arm wrestle over whose quarters we move into? Loser has to give up space to the winner?"

Drel Walker

Drel smiled, and laughed, pressing his lips close to Kitka's. He kissed her passionately for a minute, and then broke the kiss with a happy sigh.

"I've got a better idea, Kitka. How about whoever unpacked less has to move? I only unpacked a few uniforms, you?"

He nuzzled her, and kissed her neck. "Speaking of clothes, think I could convince you to keep that outfit they gave you. Looks good on you. Very sexy."

Kitka

Kitka returned his kiss and then groaned. "No fair, your using an unfair advantage there. You know a woman doesn't pack less than three bags to go anywhere!"

She tilted her head, pretending to think over his suggestion about her new clothing.

"Oh, I might be pursuaded to take it with me and...save...it for special occasions. Very personal and intimate occasions."

Grinning at him, she gave him a quick kiss and then stretched out beside him again.

"Mmmm, you know, of course that Officer Harmony and the Commander are going to be here soon." Her finger moved in lazy patterns on his chest. "Very soon."

Drel Walker

Drel sighed easilly, and smiled at her. His hands made their own way across her body, though they were not so lazy. He licked his lips, and slide his fingertips down across her stomach.

He grinned. "Oh, would it be so bad to have me suddenly join you? I won't take up much space, well, except maybe in bed."

He grinned as kissed her passionately. "Mmm. I'd like that. Personal occasions."

He was getting ready to share another personal occasion with her when he remembered the Commander and Loril. He sighed, and pulled her tight against him, giving her a lustful kiss.

"Okay then, Baby. I guess we should get into our uniforms, ehh? Don't want the boss catching us in each others arms and nothing else, huh?"

Drel got up, wandering around the dark, returning with their uniforms and a small bundle. "I think I'll keep track of this, Love. Hate for you to misplace it..."

He grinned, and pulled her against him, kissing her passionately. "Mmm. I can't wait until we're back on the ship and our reports are logged."

He grinned at her, and began dressing. "Terra? Alien AI? Freaky chicks? Someone tell me where the lightswitch is?"

Kitka

Kitka laughed and playfully elbowed Drell in his side. "Nooooo," She said,"It's not that I don't want you to move in, I do...very much so...but it's not fair that we pick who moves where with something that is sooooo one sided and we both know how it's going to turn out!"

All protesting fled her mind, though as he kissed her again...and again...and she wished he would just go on kissing her and to hell with the mission.

Blushing, she reached for her clothing, in the dark, scrambling around, feeling for it, grabbing something that was definately not clothing and definately was Drell's and thanking her stars that the room was dark so he couldn't see her blush at her mistake.

Just as she figured she was going to have to go outside in the buff to great their crewmates, the lights flickered and came back on.

With a sigh of relief, Kitka scrambled into her uniform and rolled up the strange garment she had been given to stuff it in one of her packs before searching around for her other things.

Drel Walker

As if on cue, the lights came back on. He smiled. That had been nice. He finished getting dressed, and helped Kitka gather her thinger before wrapping his arms around her from behind and kissing her neck, taking a deep breath.

He could still smell sex on her. He was glad she didn't insist on bathing, first. He found he liked the smell on her, very much. He smiled.

"Well, why make you move? We both have officer's quarters, they're both the same size. So, you have to empty a drawer for my uniforms and let me stash my,...other things away in a corner someplace. Less of a hassle than you picking up and moving, isn't it? After all, I want you to be comfortable..."

His hands began straying from acceptable areas.

"Mmm. I think we should probably go. For some reason I can't seem to keep my hands off you. Of course,...that could be fun, once we're off the hostile planet..."

Kitka

Just when she thought she had her emotions under control, Drell began to kiss her neck and let his hands roam again. If they kept this up, they were never going to greet the Commander and Officer Harmony. Of course they would probabaly solve at least a small amount of the problem of populating earth once they found it but now was not the time for that.

Turning in his arms, she kissed him slowly and deliberately and then moved from him to a safe distance across the room before their clothing suddenly found it's way on the floor once again.

"The Commander," She said, her breath ragged and her breathing not quite even,"If we don't get to him...he will come to us.."

Making haste toward the door, she opened it and headed out into the hallway, finding that she was looking forward to meeting their crewmates. The sooner they did, the sooner their questions would be answered and the sooner they would get back onto the ship.

Kitka smiled softly as she thought of what would happen then.

Commander Treloar Noviscum

The door to the flyer opened to both the Commander and Officer Harmony revealing a city that was undergoing some chaos at the hands of Terra 1 gaining and maintaining control over the alien AI. This scene mimiced to the residents of this city, who looked around with uneasy and even frightened at the changes.

Speaking into his commlink in an open channel that was linked to Terra 1 back on the ship he said in a low voice "Terra 1 lets show our inhabitance a show of our firepower incase they get any ideas. One missile strike near the city in veiw of us would be in order."

Walking behind Loril he whispered to her as they drew closer to the waiting leader of this city, he presumed,
Celinia. "Officer, you have the honour to introduce us," he said.

Remembering Officer Walker and Seerzman he looked around the group of people and didn't see them, a look of concern rolling across his face, hoping they were well. For if something had happened to Drel and Kitka, Treloar knew by hell or highwater that he would make these people pay. This was his first mission and he didn't want to lose a soul under his watch if he could help it.

Within 3 feet of Celinia they stopped and he smiled his most endearing smile as he waited for Loril to speak.

Terra One
Terra One scanned for a second along the planets surface, and picked a particularly tlarge, and also empty mountain with eye-sight of the city.
In orbit the ship turned gently and a launcher spun and whirred gnetly into position. As Loril begun speaking, the missle launched,a brief flare as it hit the atmospher, becomign a burning comet as it rode the atmosphere, piercing it like a spear thrown by a god.The long, slim white missle gave a long, piercing, high pitched scream as it flew through the air, impacting the mountain.A bubble of energy billowed out in a sphere that collected the top two-thirds of the mountain, then shrunk to a small blink of light and faded, leaving a perfectly cut out section of the mountain, nothing in the sphere still there, the now top of the mountain simmering and red, melted stone left.

Commander Treloar Noviscum

As Loril began to speak to Celinia, Loril stopped talking as the sound very unheard of in the skies of this alien planet bore down, a high pitched sound as an object became a flared out comet - instantly the Commander knew that Terra 1 had launched one of its missiles and per orders it was being seen, casting a message to the inhabitance - hoping that they would now realise, that Treloar and his Officers had their own back-up.

A high pitched scream whirled through the air as a explosion ripped a chunk in a nearby mountain. Good choice, Terra 1, Treloar approvingly thought.

The faces of the inhabitants turned and looked and Treloar smiled. Turning on his comlink he punched in Officer Seerzman code and spoke softly but quickly into the commlink around his wrist. "Wherever you and Officer Walker are, you are requested to come at once to the flyers."

Then he turned his eyes to Celinia and said in a firm tone that brook no punches. "Now Celinia, any attempts at Mind control will be met with force. Do we understand ourselves fully?"

As Loril and Treloar waited for a responce, they both watched the beings of the city lose structure as the lights went on and off as Terra 1 took control of the alien AI system. Treloar realised that infact the beings were not real flesh and blood but part of a design to show outsiders that there were inhabitance. Or was it that the alien AI had been lonely for eons and had created programmed interfaces of its prior masters

Turning to Loril "This has been a illusion." He pressed his commlink and sent a message to Terra 1 " Terra 1, please specify the condition of this alien AI and are you seeing what we're seeing?"

All around Loril and the Commander the beings of the city were fading out....bit by bit, surely and steadily.

Terra One
Terra one turned its attention abck to teh planet's surface, and for the first time actually Looked without the other Ai in control.
The illusions faded, leaving a still beautiful city, but the scars of years of disuse, some maybe from an old fight, downed flyers and ships scattered around in a jumbled heaps, though gelaming brightly from teh small robotic cleaners that stood limply everywhere, commandless.
Terra One reported this all to teh commlink, and showed a few shots from across the surface from the ship.Meanwhile on teh ship the same shots played.

Drel Walker

Drel and Kitka started out, trying to get to where they could meet the Commande.r The illusions of their surroundings flickered in the battle of the AIs, causing Drel a little discomfort. He shook himself, not able to follow what was going on, and followed close behind Kitka.

"I say we get the Commander and get out of here!"

The littel camera flyer floated up to Drel and Kitka.
Officers, please follow Me,I will lead you to the Commander.
Terra voice appeared in teh air, shivered, then dissapeared as the camera spun and zoomed purposly at a pace about equal to a fast walk.

Commander Treloar Noviscum

All in a brief milisecond, the images of the beautiful women and the toiling men in loinclothes faded until only it was Loril and himself overlooking a spectacular shining city that was still as if now in waves having power shortages and failures.

Terra 1 reported in as the Commander looked around, his eyes taking in the scene. Within his mind, inpinging upon the very throught processes was the question he had asked the alien AI; Who were the Archons? What part had they to play in this planet's drama? Questions Commander Treloar would not find out just at this moment.

Looking down at his commlink, Treloar watched as Terra 1 displayed scenes of several similar shots from around the same planet. He transferred the images to Loril, " Officer, when we get back to the ship do a detailed scan of these images, that a human eye may pick up more than a AI."

He spoke into the audio feed of Terra 1 ; "Acknowledged Terra 1."

Treloar had a uneasy feeling, silence except for the wind and their own breathing were heard. Something was not right, and the Commander wanted to get off this forsaken planet as soon as possible.

"Terra 1, return the second flyer to the ship, we will all return to the ship in one flyer."

The spare flyer lifted off in silent acknowledgement.
Commander?i currently hve the alien Ai trapped, what should i do now?
It asked simply, half of its concentration keeping the Ai locked wihtin its prison, occasionally shunting ti from network to netwokr as it pushed to hard, the cause of the power shortages.

Commander Treloar Noviscum

Not long after Commander Treloar ordered the secondary flyer to be returned to the ship did he hear the droning sound of the flyer push off the ground and into the air.

And then Terra 1 spoke through the commlink;

"Commander?i currently hve the alien Ai trapped, what should i do now?"

Treloar thought about this logically. If they released the alien AI now, who knew what the alien AI could do. If he ordered Terra 1 to release upon the flyer's liftoff and the return to the ship, they had a better chance of nothing going wrong. He made his decision.

"Terra 1, release the alien AI after we leave the atmosphere of this planet. Take whatever appropriate action to safeguard the ship and yourself. Try to learn from this AI, and try to find out who these 'Archons' are? Commander out."

He smirked as he finished. Now where were Officer Kitka and Drel, he wondered.

Kitka

Kitka wrinkled her nose at Drell. "Just like a man. You barely arrive at some place and suddenly you want to leave."

In spite of her teasing, though, the flashing images, changing from a world alive and a world dead were giving her the creeps and she moved closer to Drell as they walked. Hey, he had the bigger gun!

It wasn't long before she spotted the Commander and Officer Harmony and she took Drell's arm and urged him faster as they approached.

"Though on this instance," She said, adding to her earlier statement,"I think I agree."

Loril

Loril nodded at the Commander's orders and then gripped his arm, pointing to where Drell and Kitka were approaching.

"With your permission, Commander," She said,"I think I should go warm up the flyer. I have a feeling we might need to get away on a moment's notice."

Drel Walker

Drel grunted, moving along quickly with her. The changes betweenthe two worlds were seriously confusing him. He grunted, and shook his head, trying to focus.

"Of course you agree. You're a smart woman and anyone can see that this is not a good place to be, so we should go, go, go."

Commander Treloar Noviscum

As soon as Commander Treloar issued his orders to Terra 1, he felt Officer Loril grip his arm with her slendour fingers. Around them was a world half real and half the creation of an alien AI which Terra 1 for now had subdued.

Loril pointed to where the two moving figures of Officer Walker and Seerzman were approaching.

"With your permission, Commander, I think I should go warm up the flyer. I have a feeling we might need to get away on a moment's notice."

"Good idea Loril," he looked at her and smiled.

He watched her as she entered the flyer as he waited by the door for the other two officers. The sooner they were off this planet and back on the ship, the more relieved, Treloar would be.

Treloar heard the Flyer engines start up, and he waved at Drel and Kitka. He placed one foot on the door awaiting them to reach the powered up flyer.

Loril/Kitka

Loril sped into the craft and took her seat, buckling herself in and letting her hands play over the panel before her. Soon the engine had started to life and the craft was ready.

Kitka tugged Drel along, sidestepping obsticales that she wasn't sure were really there and not caring as long as they got off this crazy planet.

It seemed like it took an eternity to finally get to the open flyer door and then they were in, the doors shutting behind them.

Once she knew the rest of the landing party were in, Loril's hands moved once again over the panel.

"Hold on," She said as the flyer lifted,"It's going to be a bumpy ride."

"Terra1," She called into the air,"I need you to filter my view. I need to know what is real and whats not."

With a determined look on her face, she moved the craft up and forward, banking hard to the left as it strove to reach the atmosphere.

Drel

Drel followed after Kitka, a pain starting in his head. Gritting his teeth he paused outside the flyer just a second, his eyes closed. He openned them as he got inside, and quickly moved to look outside again.

He could see through everything. He grunted, and shook his head. He didn't know whether this was good or not. With his condition, he looked out again. There as the illusions flickered, he saw through them, able to keep focus on what they were hiding, ad well as what was there. Some areas were still blank, him having no yet seen what was there when the illusion was gone.

He closed his eyes, putting his hands over them. "Don't look, don't look. Focus, Drel, focus. Whatever you do, don't look. Don't get sucked in. C'mon, think about something else..."
