Ekserb's picture thread

tigerjen, what are you doing?! Once you get Ekserb started on guns, there will be no end to the ranting.

I didn't even know he was into guns into most recently! And yes, I got what I bargained for
in his post in response to my remarks, but he has his rights.

I've told Ekserb on a few occasions that his photos ought to be in a coffee table type of
book, especially the black and white ones.....its amazing how the black and white film
is a lot more dramatic than color film at times......

The photography exhibit at an art gallery or museum is a wonderful idea also! :)

First of all, my thanks to Sparkle and Jen for leading me toward the thousandth post on this thread. I couldn't have done it without my fans.

Next, about the coffee table book: It's a good thing I haven't followed through with this suggestion. If the sales (er ... sale) of printed photos from the Literotica gallery on my SmugMug account are any indication, the sales of a photo book wouldn't exactly set the world on fire. I do, however, appreciate the enthusiasm. :)

1. Congrats on the 1000th post on your thread!

2. I hear you there about the sale(s) of your printed photos....but one can always
dream about a book, right? ;) you never know......

Oh, I agree. And he knows how much I love him regardless of our many disagreements.

<looks at Ekserb>

Don't you, dear? Don't you?!

<silence>

Hmph. Okay, back to the ogling.

"Many disagreements"?!? Jeez, you tell a girl one time that you wouldn't mind breaking your dick off in the waitress and you never hear the end of it. ;)

Thank you, girls! I'm trying to do my best! :)

Truly marvelous. I especially like this one because of the way you are looking into the camera.

I'm probably nitpicking here, but the hand under your head in Number 3 looks slightly awkward to me.

Thank you so much for taking them and sharing them with us.

In the tall grass

A few hours ago I returned home from a vacation in central Florida and I've already processed two sets of new photos taken while I was there. Tonight is the first set.

These are in color (somewhat rare for my thread), but I wanted to try to portray the heat and humidity of the surroundings. They are also a lot less explicit than most of what I have shared before — I hope your imagination can fill in the gaps. :)

These are great photos Phil. You do such a terrific job of taking them...................I'm assuming they are 'self shots'. Great setting, texture's etc. Did you have the camera on a pole??

Nice set. It is a divergence from much of the other work you've featured here. I got the essence of "heat", but I did not get the essence of humidity (it actually came off as a little arid to me.). I'm not sure how to convey that visually, short of a haze of sorts. But the shot doesn't have the depth to convey "near" and "far" with haze.

Even still, another nice set.

Thanks, Richard!

My camera has an intervalometer that allows me to shoot frames at predetermined intervals (a feature Sony has foolishly decided to leave off their new line of DSLRs). In most cases, I set the camera to take a picture every thirty seconds for a total of 40 frames. Then I just step in front of the lens and start posing. I either watch a clock to see when the next shot will be taken or I can listen for the click of the shutter to know when I can move to a new position.

I set the camera on a tripod and preset the focus on a shirt thrown on the grass, then move the shirt and stand very close to where it was. There is really no other way to get the focus right without using a very small aperture for increased depth of field, and that is usually not the most effective way to make a portrait. As you might guess, the tall grass caused difficulty setting the focus, so I had to check the digital preview a few times before I settled on what you see here.

Thanks!

I guess in these images you can't see that I was sweating like crazy while taking them. (It's more obvious in the full resolution files.)

Well, at least it looks hot.

Wow, this is the first time I have seen your thread and your pictures are incredible. The subject matter is beautiful as well, but as someone who's fairly new to playing around with their camera you're really quite an inspiration. :rose:

Now that's what I like to hear. I hope my work inspires more people to post their own photos and maybe put a little more effort into the art and science of photography.

Thank you very much!

P.S. You have great hair!

I wish that I had the knowledge that would enable me to comment in a meaningful way, but I don't. So I'll just say...I loved these.

*sigh* So gorgeous.
