Elven Reality.

She caught his glance as he looked over the items she had bought. She grinned a little at him, teasing his imagination.
As the two of them left the stores and walked over to the restaurants, she carefully looked at the dishes that they served. There were so many things that she could bring back to Azeroth from this world.. and they'd probably taste a lot better then the things she normally ate.

As he shared his soda with her, she nearly choked on the CO2 in the drink. "Wow.." she gasped after a violent coughing spree. "That is... phew.."

When she recovered a little, he asked her about the other favour. "and well..." She looked at him, blushing a little from the comment. "Well... I'll have to think about it. It's not like you're not a cute guy Jake, it's just that... well.. There's something special between us."

Jake nodded and leaned back in his seat. "Yeah that's right we do have a history. There is nothing you've done that I haven't played a part in. Yet you don't know much about me and I think it is only fair that you know."

He took a deep breath and began telling Alanna everything he thought she should know about him. He told her about getting picked on so badly at school that his parents were forced to move him from school to school until finally he just had to be home schooled. College was better because people were mature enough to be over bullying but it present a new problem. Everywhere he looked he saw couples together holding hands, snuggling, or kissing and he developed a deep lonelyness.

Then he started to play warcraft and he created her. His life was one of weakness but through her she gave him strength. Fighting dragons with her were some of the happiest times of his life. Now though his friend were getting girlfriends too and he was left alone. That was where sheewould come in.

"I can't even tell you how much you mean too me Alanna."

Alanna listened to him, describing his life to her. She nodded at times, showing her sympathy to his plight. When he finished, she stroked three fingers along her jawline.
"I see.. Well.. you know how much you mean to me, hell.. my entire existence is because of you. You made me into who I am, little parts of yourself are in my being."

She smiled at him, taking one of his hands in hers. "You know Jake, I believe that you are a much stronger person that you let people see. Heck.. you're an officer, and top DPS in a top 25 in the world guild.. and a roleplaying guild at that."
She laughed. "Takes a lot of courage and people skills to manage that, I'll tell you"

Leaning back in her chair, she looked up at the ceiling of the mall. "I'll tell you what. Let's first try and find a solution to the thing that brought me here. We can choose our actions on the results of that."

Jake shrugged, "Yeah that's true, but the anonymity of the internet helps. And you really can't put great dps on a resume for a job." He smirked, "I mean I have my group of nerdy friends that play WoW with me, you might know my buddy Josh. He plays your healer Carin."

HE leaned forward and looked at his hands. "A solution? Right I guess it's only fair I try to get you home." It hurt him to know that she wanted to go home. How could she be so eager to go back when her world was a virtual temporary file on some computer system.

After they finished they went home and Jake checked his watch. It was almost five which meant it was nearly raid time, the thought made him cringe. How could he tell his guild that he couldn't raid anymore because his character turned into a real woman over night?

"Alanna why don't you change into some better fitting clothes while I tinker with the computer and see what happens." He suggested.

The computer booted itself up just fine. Nothing out of the ordinary on the desktop. He took a deep breath and booted WoW up. Again the login appeared normally and he put in his info.

Then the character selection appeared and his jaw dropped. "Oh shit!" He exclaimed.

Alanna appeared beside him a moment later and he point to the screen.

There on the character screen was Alanna, wearing her gear doing her normal animations. Jake hit enter, and the game loaded fine. Alanna appeared before him, he hit a few buttons and made her kill a squirel.

"Alanna I don't know what to do." He told her.

"Carin? As in, that grumpy old Orc?" She stifled a laugh behind her hand. "I hope that your friend is different then him in this world." She gently stroked over his hand. "Just give it a try Jake, trying doesn't hurt, does it?"

Once home, she agreed to his suggestion to change. "Sure, sounds good to me." She said as she walked into the bathroom in order to change.
"Oh shit!" She heard him yell out shortly afterwards. Dressed in only one of her new tank-tops and her panties, she quickly came over to his side.
"What in the..." She breathed as she saw herself on the screen. "Wait... so... but..." She sank down onto his bed. "I'm completely confused now."

It was only then that she realised how very little she was wearing. "By the Sunwell! I'm sorry!"

Jake was too distracted to notice her dress. He saw the dispair in her eyes as she saw herself on the screen. If she was already in the game, how could they hope to put her back? Jake swallowed and looked at her as she came back into the room actually wearing a skirt this time.

"Alanna, I'm so sorry. I....I don't know what to do. I can't see how to put you into a game in which you already exist." He told her, reached out to take her hand gently as she came close. "Please understand how sorry I am."

She nodded solemnly. "I know Jake, I know." She gently stroked over his hair as she stood up a walked over to the computer, where she was still logged in.
"I just want to try one thing.. I don't know if this will work." She extended her hand and touched the PC screen.

When nothing happened, she sighed loudly. Her stoic expression faltered as she started to cry, her hair losing it's shine, she suddenly looked a lot more vulnerable, but also more human then before.
Alanna sank down on the bed, burying her head in her hands as she cried softly. Her world had crashed and burnt, it seemed like she would never see her friends again, never would experience the thrills again.

She would never be herself again.. now she was just.. human..

It killed Jake to see her like this. He could understand why she was so upset and he wished he could do something for her. To him, he had been excited to have her here, it meant he could finally have a companion in the real world, but he never thought that she would miss Azeroth so much.

Gently he sat down beside her and put his arms around her, pulling her into his embrace. HE held her while she cried, just wanting to be there for her. "Hey Alanna, don't cry. It'll be alright. Look you've had an amazing career. You've face countless horrors and defeated them all. Big demons, Illidan, Arthas, you've done great. Don't think of this as a bad thing. Think of it as your reward for excellent work. You don't need to fight anymore, now you can live in peace, and have a family and anything else you can imagine."

She hung her head as she let him hug her, shaking her head lightly. "You don't understand... Fighting was my entire life.. It's what I was born to do.. For months, we trained for it, together as one. And now, it's all gone." She felt more like an alien in this world then ever before.

She jumped at the sound of his MSN going off. It was Luke, one of his mates and player of Charme, the guild's raid leader and main tank.
'Jake, you comin' or what? It's not like you to be quiet in guildchat.'

Alanna smiled sadly as she stood up. "I'm going outside, I need some fresh air and time to clear my head. I'll be back soon" She gently kissed him on the mouth. "Thank you, for everything."

Jake wanted to blush, even after she left he could still feel her lips on his. Her scent seemed to linger on him and he smiled despite the situation. Then he turned back to the computer and typed back to the raid leader that he was just taking care of somethings. He decided that if he was going to let Alanna think on things then he needed a distraction and raiding was perfect.

So off he went with his guild to heroic Blackwing Decent, to wipe on Nefarian because they were terrible. It ended up being like any other raid night, Alanna the character in game, performed the way she always did, breaking over 25 thousand dps and handling as good as ever.

Raid ended four hours earlier and Alanna still wasn't back. Jake sighed and clicked the computer off and stood up to get a drink. He glanced out the window on his way out, just to see if Alanna was actually around. It was dark outside and he couldn't see anything. He simply could only wait and hope that she was okay.

He popped open the soda and took a big drink then hung his head. If he only know more about computers and science he could help her. Yet he didn't understand why she wouldn't be happy to be a real person with him. Jake couldn't realize that having Alanna around was his fantasy not hers.

As he looked around the room, he noticed the note that she had left behind, pinned on the fridge.
Dear Jake

I'm going for a walk around the neighbourhood, to see if I can get my head clear. I don't know when I'll be back, but I will be. You don't have to stay awake for me for.

Love,
Alanna

Meanwhile, she looked at the star-filled sky, sighing to herself as it brought memories for many a night spent on the floating islands of Nagrand. She sat down on the sidewalk, letting the memories play back in her head.

What was she going to do? While Jake was certainly a good looking guy, she wasn't meant to be here, this wasn't her world, she was perfectly fine in her own one.. but now, she was homeless.
As the stars were obscured by the clouds, the Elf stood up and walked back to his apartment. She had no idea what time it was, nor did she really care.

Alanna knew one thing for sure, she was going to find a way to get back home, one way or another.

Her note was disturbing because it only reenforced the fear in him that she would never be happy here with him. She would always yearn for her world and there was nothing he could say or do to help with that, unless he found a way to get her home. He supposed he could call Blizzard support, but what would he tell them? "Yeah hi, umm my wow character came to life and I need to put her ass back." Somehow he didn't think that they got many calls like that.

He decided that he would respect her wishes and went to bed. She would come back on her own time and that was fine. Part of him wishes that he could make her happy here, the thoughts of her kiss still linger on his lips. If only he could get more than that, he shook his head though and dismissed those thoughts. They were selfish and no matter how much he yearned to have sex, he could put that pressure on Alanna, it wasn't fair.

It was about 5 in the morning when she opened the door to his apartment. She was in no particular hurry since Jake would most likely be asleep. This place was the closest she could be to home while in this world, so it was a place she was going to use until she could find her way back.

But there was also a side of her that felt it was unfair to Jake. He didn't force her to come here, atleast she thought he didn't. Perhaps there was a way their two goals could meet somewhere in the middle, for a satisfactory solution.

She crashed onto the couch in the living room. There was no reason to wake Jake, she had said she would be back, and she had.
As the Elven Warrioress dozed off, her plan had already been formulated completely. She was going home, of that there was no doubt, but until she found a method to do so, there was no harm in helping Jake with his problems.

Was there?

Jake rolled over with a groan and flopped onto the ground with a grunt. He blinked and slowly pushed himself up and looked around. Sunlight streamed through the blinds and he sighed, another day. He stood up and glanced around but saw no sign that Alanna had come back.

He frowned and staggered his way into the living room where Alanna was still sleeping on the couch, flopped onto her back and her top having ridden high enough to reveal her wonderful stomach. He smiled, relieved that she had actually come back. Then he went into the kitchen to start a pot of coffee to brew.

He had to go to work today which was a pain in the ass, but he couldn't call out sick. While the coffee started he went into the bathroom to take his shower.

As the smell of coffee drafted into the living room, Alanna groaned out loudly and pushed herself up from the couch. It was just past 9, meaning she only had 4 hours of sleep. She rubbed her forehead and tried to get the sleep from her eyes.

She stumbled half-awake to the bathroom, not noticing the fact that he was already in there taking a shower. She opened the tap for the sink, thus turning the shower water burning hot.

When she heard him curse loudly next to her, she yelped in surprise, slipping on the bathroom floor and hitting the head on the tiles "Owwww!..." She whimpered as she rubbed over the back of her head, blushing furiously as she was laying there, half-naked and he was standing in the shower.

Jake screamed as the water became scalding. He had been washing his hair at the time and his head was suddenly on fire. "FUCK!" He cried jerking to the back of the shower and out of the spray. This action jerked the shower curtain open enough that he saw her against the door rubbing her head.

He quickly covered himself and gapped at her. "Alanna?" He asked, not really knowing what to say. He was naked standing in the shower and she was just looking at him. "Umm, good morning?" He said blushing bright red.

"Good... morning.." She said awkwardly as she tried to not look at his naked body too much. The fact was though that he looked very good naked, and she certainly wasn't very boring either.
She quickly closed the tap on the sink, wincing a little as her fingers rose up to the lump on the back of her head.

"I'm so, so, so sorry Jake.. I must've been half asleep still, I had no idea you were in here." She reached out for a towel. "Are you okay?" The elf smiled sheepishly as she offered him the towel. This was probably the most awkward moment she had ever had in her life. And yet, deep inside her mind, it was strangely erotic as well.

"I.. I'll leave you be for now." She opened the door and quickly made her exit from the bathroom.

Jake gingerly took the towel and wrapped it around his waist quickly. He reached over and clicked the waster off then turned back to Alanna as she started to leave the bathroom. "Hey Alanna." He called, then smiled at her when she turned back his way. "I'm glad you came back." He told her.

She said nothing only moved out of the bathroom so he could dress. He frowned and wished there was something he could do to make her feel better. Part of him knew she was probably blaming him for getting her trapped here even though he had nothing to do with it. The question then became how did he convince her that he was innocent and the only thing that led her here was fate? Or a really strange bug in the computer system that made fictional characters real.

He changed into a shirt and slacks, then combed his hair and put on come cologne. The coffee smell was filling the apartment and he poured himself a cup before turning to Alanna in the living room. "So I have to go to work today. There is food in the fridge, I'd suggest you make a frozen meal from the freezer using this microwave." He told her patting the box with numbers on it. "You just put the food in and type in the number it says on the box then hit the green button. It will beep when your food in done." He explained. "Otherwise make yourself at home and I'll be back around five or so."

She nodded to him as she slouched on the couch. She had changed her outfit to a light blue shirt that she'd tied a knot into and a pair of jeans shorts.
The Elf was thankful that he had made her an Engineer, so she roughly understood what the things in his place did. It also allowed her to hopefully make some progress on finding a way to get home, without fully destroying all the electrical things in his place.

"Alright, have a good day." She smiled at him and watched him leave the house. Shortly after, she poured herself a cup of coffee and started with the newspaper. While it wasn't meant as an aid to get home, she figured she might as well know a bit more about this world.

As time went by, she had gone through the newspaper and went to his computer. She knew a little about the basic things, now that the Goblins had joined the Horde and brought similar (though less complex) things with them.
After a good hour of experimentation and remembering what she saw Jake do, and with a little help of his mates, who mistook her for Jake, she had found something that could help her.

It was totally bizarre, but according to someone on a 'forum', her Warcraft character had come to life as well. Only hers was a female human.
"What is going on here..." Alanna muttered as she tried to find out more about this person, though with her lack of understanding of current technology, she got little results.

She sighed loudly as she left the PC running and went back into the living room for a nap.

Jake couldn't get his head straight in the office. He had a fucking elf living in his apartment who wanted to go home. He wanted to have sex with her, but sadly that wasn't the case because that was just the way his life worked. So he tried to find a solution to get Alanna back into the game. He ultimately decided that contacting Blizzard directly would get him the best possible answer.

So he sent an e-mail to both game support and technical support. Then began the long process of waiting for Blizzard to actually get reply.

After work he picked up a couple of burgers for Alanna and himself then went home. He opened the door and saw Alanna sitting on the couch, watching an infomercial like it was the most entertaining thing she'd ever seen. He should have explained to her what channels were.

He set a burger in front of her and smiled, "Dinner is served my dear." He told her, "You know I contacted Blizzard today about what happened. I'm hoping to get a response soon but Blizz is usually slow on the draw about things."

She smiled at him as she took a bite from the burger. "Hmm... tastes better then... the ones we make.." She mumbled with her mouth full as she listened to him describing what he did.
"I see. You think they will know what to do?"

She turned the TV off and wiped the edges of her mouth with her hand. "While you were gone, I also did some researching on my own."
Alanna explained to him what she and his friends had found on that forum, that they had thought it was him and thus weren't suspecting much. "Don't worry, I didn't tell them anything about me. I just asked for any weird things that happened.
And eventually.. I believe Micha is her name?.. found that forum-thingy. It's still open, if you want to take a look." She told him as the two of them worked their way through their dinner.

Jake read the forum post that Alanna had saved and sat back in his seat. "Then Blizzard has to know something about this. If it has happened to other people then something must be going on. The problem is I don't know what happened to make you a real person. Physics doesn't work like that, and because of that I have no idea how I'll put you back especially since you are still in the game. We saw that last night."

He spun toward her and looked up at her. "Look Alanna, I know you want to go home, but I think you need to start looking into the possiblity that this world is your new home. While we can still put effort into finding out if you can go back or not, I think it would be wise for you to maybe look into staying here, in case you are forced too. I could show you some things, hell you could probably be rich with the amount of gold you have. If we take your coins to a government exchange you may have what amounts up too hundreds of thousands of dollars which is more than enough to set yourself up a nice little life." He explained.

HE reached out and took her hand. "Plus I could still really use your help, if you remember that part."

She shrugged a little. "I don't know much about Blizzard... but if what you made me say about them is true, then I'm not so sure.
but.. I guess we'll see what their answer is"

She raised her hand as she watched him go off on another waterfall of options of her staying here. "Jake, Jake.. you don't get it, do you?"
She looked at him as they sat across from eachother in the living room. "As you said, physics doesn't work this way. I'm not supposed to be here, this is your world, not mine. I'm an unknown entity in this world."

She felt a bit sorry as she saw his expression drop. "I said I would help you until I would go back, and I will. I'm a woman of my word. But I won't stay here Jake, I'm going back home." She breathed in. "I made my mind up yesterday. While I thank you for everything you've shown me here, and I will always be close to you, I won't stay.

I can't stay."

Jake nodded and sighed, "I suppose so." He spun his chair back around and faced the computer. He typed onto the forum and sent a message to the girl who had her character come to life as well. He asked her what she was doing to help her character cope with it.

Then he turned and glanced back to Alanna, "Well until we get responses there's nothing we can really do just staring at the forum." He stood up and walked over to brush a finger through her hair, "Why don't we go watch TV or something. I think a little R&R would be good for you, on Earth or in Azeroth."

She smiled at him, glad that he had at least understood. "Well, I won't argue with that." She blushed a little as she felt his fingers stroking through her hair. The Elf gave him a quick kiss on the chin as the two of them walked to the living room.

They laid down on the couch together, Alanna lightly cuddling up against him. While she didn't want to get too close to him, there was also no reason to be cold and distant to him either. After all, he was a cute guy.
